What is RStudio?

RStudio is a modular data science platform, combining open source and commercial products.

The vendor states their open source offerings, such as the RStudio IDE, Shiny, rmarkdown and the many packages in the tidyverse, are used by millions of data scientists around the world to enhance the production and consumption of knowledge by everyone, regardless of economic means.

Their commercial software products, including RStudio Workbench, RStudio Connect, and RStudio Package Manager, are available as a bundle in RStudio Team. These products aim to give organizations the confidence to adopt R, Python and other open-source data science software at scale. This enables data science teams using R and Python to deliver interactive reports and applications to decision makers, leverage large amounts of data, integrate with existing enterprise systems, platforms, and processes, and be compliant with security practices and standards.

The platform is complemented by online services, including RStudio Cloud and shinyapps.io, to make it easier to do, teach and learn data science, and share data science insights with others, over the web.

Together, RStudio’s open-source software and commercial software form a virtuous cycle: The adoption of open-source data science software at scale in organizations creates demand for RStudio’s commercial software; and the revenue from commercial software, in turn, enables deeper investment in the open-source software that benefits everyone.

Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

I am basic user of the RStudio and most of the codes are in R for data management and for reporting purpose. This not my domain as part of the infrastructure team, However and more than confident that the Department of Health will renew use of RStudio.
I have RStudio installed on my personal computer and use for the analysis of the data that are publicly available.

There is no other platform that meets our needs. Even if it was terrible we would still use it but fortunately for us it is a very solid project with a great support team. I hope in the future to expand our use and get more licences as well as upgrade to RStudio workbench but for now we are very happy.

RStudio is effective in its utility - allowing me to run advanced statistical analyses for a very low cost. This allows me to continue to grow my research and be able to reinvest money back into our projects. It is also easy to replicate similar analyses using syntax, so I plan on continuing to use RStudio for that as well.

Proven, ease-of-use, and continued development of product to beyond the R language.

This opens up development possibility to users of other languages and reduce maintenance cost for managing multiple platforms.

RStudio is the premier tool for statistical analysis. While it does require an understanding of how the program works and the language, its flexibility and continually growing support base amongst the community make it the best for solving simple or complex problems. The only thing that prevents it from being a 10 is the lack of a support network and how it can be difficult to branch out into new analyses while other programs can have them performed in a few minutes.

There is no viable alternative right now. The toolset is good and the functionality is increasing with every release. It is backed by regular releases and ongoing development by the RStudio team.
There is good engagement with RStudio directly when support is required.
Also there's a strong and growing community of developers who provide additional support and sample code.

We have internal BI tools support R libraries. So, Rstudio is our natural choice for other prototyping needs and predictions. Rstudio has been rather stable for quick needs and do not plan to switch to any other tool. It is free and we are not bound to pay anything. It is quick to learn and use.

We are in a process of building some of our production workflows on R. This will be a significant achievement for analytic processes that still need manual interventions at various stages. The shiny applications have been assimilated in various critical processes that now rely heavily on them for future action items

We can do pretty much all of the modern data analytics in R, from data ingestion to final data products to be consumed by senior management. Yes, you can do an analysis in other tools, but RStudio is unique in being open-source licensed, its seamless integration with other data and programming tools (SQL/Python/C++/etc), allowing you to reliably complete your analysis all in one tool, and with reproducible research in mind. It cannot be replaced easily by other tools.

RStudio visual environment is essential for developing R scripts. R by itself does not provide any visual environment for development , so some sort of IDE is required to develop larger and complicated R scripts. Compared to other IDE environments like R Commander , R studio is way more user friendly. It can show the data tables that are loaded into the memory.

We are planning to renew our Connect license in the next few weeks. Connect provides an easy to use, feature rich, stable, reliable, and price competitive platform for publishing and sharing the amazing work our Data Scientists and Analysts are producing. Renewal is a no-brainer.

Rstudio is my go - to language for anything involving analysis. It has far more capabilities for data analysis than Python (in my opinion). New packages for novel analytical techniques are often published. Rstudio continues to implement great updates every few months as well. Finally, I really like that I can write LateX documents in Rstudio and integrate R code into them.
