In our organization, SAP Analytics Cloud serves as a pivotal tool for data-driven decision-making. We harness its capabilities for comprehensive business intelligence, utilizing interactive dashboards to analyze and visually present insights from diverse data sources. SAC facilitates collaborative planning and forecasting processes, enabling real-time simulations and fostering team collaboration. The platform's predictive analytics feature empowers us to anticipate trends and identify opportunities, while its seamless integration with both SAP and non-SAP systems ensures a holistic approach to data consolidation. SAC's mobile analytics support keeps decision-makers informed on-the-go, and the self-service analytics feature empowers business users to perform ad-hoc analysis, enhancing agility. The scope of our SAC use extends across various departments, including finance, sales, marketing, and operations, ensuring a unified and responsive analytics environment to address a multitude of business challenges.

SAP Analytics Cloud is great for big companies that want advanced data analysis and planning, especially when they need to work together in real-time or when people need to access data on their phones. It's like a super tool for predicting future trends in industries like retail or finance. SAC also works well for companies that use different types of computer systems because it can easily connect them. But, for small businesses that only need basic reports or don't have a lot of technical resources, a simpler tool might be better. If a company doesn't always have a good internet connection or if they're just starting with analytics, there might be other tools that work better.

Dashboard and update information is so important to drive our decision based on facts, this is important to save, time money and improdutivo meeting without any data or decision to make. sometimes the dashboard update is so slow and require a minimal logic to get the information that we need to our business.

At our organisation SAP analytics cloud is a gamechanger. It helps us keep tabs on how well our startups are doing tracking things like customer acquisition and growth live. We can easily evaluate performance of any employee using experience and knowledge. We use it to keep record of our orders and to anlalyze them easily.
  • It makes it easier yo analyse order and related records easily.
  • We can easily maintain and track the performance of employees in organisation.
  • Can easily track various aspects for the growth of an organisation thus allowing real time analysis and tracking of organisation's growth and performance.
  • User Interface of SAP cloud analytics can be improved more so that it can be made more accessible.
  • User support is not that much good and time consuming.
  • Limited team work and collaboration possible as their are not much collaborative features available, it makes it sometime time consuming.
If you want to track your organizations performance live on regular basis and needs good analytics option you should try this out, it's easy to implement, cost friendly and you can almost track all of organizations processes from just a single place but if there's more team work required on analysis in your organization or you're looking for more collaborative tool with better support it will not work that much good for your usecase.

My team and I use SAP analytics cloud to analyze bulk of CRM data, create segmentation and automated workflows for decision making. With Cloud Analytics, we can generate insights from sales data at a daily, monthly and even quarterly cadence. We can even create the mandates for sales team basis their performance throughout the funnel basis their lead data.
  • Data security
  • Access control
  • Access from anywhere
  • The mobile app could be faster & lighter. Currently it hangs often while loading dashboards.
  • It takes some time to get accustomed to a new peson. The training modules are not very informative.
  • Difficult to integrate with existing legacy systems.
Well suited for distributed access control wherein you need to give a dashboard to individual sales team members, especially for target vs achievement incentivization schemes. The team can see live tracking data on top of custom dashboard to monitor & act at all times.
It is less appropriate for custom querying and aggregation.

SAP Analytics is currently used across all departments (finance/HR/sales) of client I support. We have designed various stories and applications as well on sales/finance/HR data showcasing different KPIs, Top N contributors, Geo-Map data points. There is not much additional work needed as the same story can easily be seen using mobile or tabs by business users. Business users loved the smart capabilities of SAC wherein they type any query in Natural Languages and it produces relevant graphs to users.

Recently I have done POC on HR data for them to identity probable employees who could leave organization. The POC went well so we are asked to implement the same. I used built classification-in for addressing Attrition problem which resulted in 83% accuracy. Client has asked us to do a POC using regression if we can predict number of copies to be printed considering various factors like historical data (sports event/elections/or other catastrophic events).

Suggestion:
However I feel SAC can be more effective if more modelling capabilities are provided. Integration with R is good but SAP should think of Python integration as well, reason being Python is more user friendly and capable of doing all what R does.
  • Natural language processing.
  • Geo-spatial enrichment.
  • Support to mobile/tabs.
  • Easy user interface.
  • Prediction capabilities.
  • R integration.
  • Application building.
  • Dashboarding.
  • Complete descriptive statistics about business using stories.
  • Modelling capabilities.
  • Python integration should be included.
  • Model rebuilding losses all data validations/transformation and too much of rework.
For an organization spread across globe SAC comes in handy as it has capabilities to represent data of all countries on Global Map using Geo-Spatial points. Even business users can drill down to the lowest possible level maintained in hierarchal structure. SAC has built-in capabilities for currency translation which further enriches two show data in single global currency for ease of comparative analysis for different regions.
SAC is very well suited for planning budget & forecast scenarios for companies' financial needs. SAC is the only tool having all three different type of Analytics i.e. Descriptive, Predictive & Prescriptive analysis. SAC has an inbuilt R Server and also supports R integration with external server for more of predictive analysis and superb visuals. The same story can be seen in desktop, laptop including mobiles & tab so no extra work for getting reports on mobile except for API integration. SAC supports importing data from non-SAP environments and provides seamless live connectivity to SAP HANA cloud systems.

SAC will not be that useful where more of operation reporting is required though it is capable of providing Excel-like interface with similar functionalities.

We have two tenants for SAP Analytics Cloud, import based on live based connection, on live models, we have certain performance limitations when we perform data blending.
  • Role inheritance
  • Security
  • Analytic designer
  • Data blending
  • Edit model is locked to enhance new fields in import based connection
  • Live connection with cloud centric azure and GCP
To replace lumira generic analysis template and webi self-service.

We have been investigating it to use it for month end closing reporting in the Finance area.
  • Easy to get figures with live connection and existing queries
  • Quite easy to create nice looking reports
  • Quite fast even with live connection
  • Sharing of reports for non SAP Analytics Cloud users
  • No possibility to print report to Excel
  • Easier publishing of reports to other users
It is easy to get a nice report done with a live data connection, but it comes with downside as well. Not all functionality is available for live data connection.

We are piloting the use in finance department. Use cases relate to month end closing and we use live connection in order to have real time data. Stories and easy to build and I like to have same models in AFO - Fiori & SAC. There is no need for reconciliations because the data the same as in familiar GUI.

  • Linked analysis
  • Easy data entry for planning
  • Copying own measures to other stories
  • Linking own models with live connections
  • Guiding you through best practices while building stories
Really good for linking tables and graphs and creating own stories. Just started on using SAC planning and that is also very easy as a user to get started on. Very intuitive.

We are using it mainly in Fp&A area where we are also using BTP. SAP Analytics Cloud, we are trying to use the Planning features.
  • Connecting back end data with Live and other connections options
  • Creating graphs with explanation
  • Using Live link in MS 365 specially in outlook and Power Point
  • Enabling Alerting features
  • Sending email alerts to Higher management so that they can login when there is a need to login
  • Some more graphics features
Converting business Objects reports to SAP Analytics Cloud
Connecting existing Universe and Webi reports and create the KPIs
Able to connect non-SAP areas to build different Dashboards.

SAP Analytics Cloud has helped us to get the information for decision making faster and and with rich display. In the past, the IT team had to get all the data for reporting, now the end users are enabled to get and present their data themselves. So we have saved time, effort, support and empowered our users.
  • Nice presentations, Dashboards
  • Live Data Models
  • Merge multiple models
  • Live connections to other sources then SAP
  • When adding a new measure in CDS consumption view the SAP Analytics Cloud model gets disrupted. So you can only add a measure at the end
  • Connections to SQL, MySQL live
It’s a pretty nice solution for SAP exporting. I do think SAP could improve by enabling non-SAP sources connections, live ones. This could bring new customers.

SAP Analytics Cloud helps in bringing together Analytics and Planning along with a major advantage of other SAP applications integration. You can work with multiple different data sources to get an over all better level of insights. There are a variety of Charts and graphs that are intuitive. With SAP environment you can take enterprise wide decisions with ease.
  • Intuitive Charts, graphs and tables preparation
  • Live models creation with help of modeler
  • Data presentation becomes impressive and insightful
  • Models take a lot of time to load
  • If you forget to add a measure or dimension while creatin a model, you have to start all over
  • Drill through metrics should be allowed
You can process huge data sets with millions of data points and perform predictive analytics based on these results. It is a web application, thus it prevents time and cost over runs spent on environment set up and infra costs are cut down. You can connect it with whole ecosystem of SAP applications to get the integrated insights and action points.

SAC [SAP Analytics Cloud] is globally used for all reporting needs. At the beginning the main focus was on FP&A but it has been extended to all other functions.
  • Live connectivity to SAB BW
  • Using all BW features out of the box (hierarchies, objects attributes...)
  • Ability to widely share dashboards due to data access control coming from the source (BW)
  • Available visualizations (very limited since the start)
  • Mobile application, allowing side by side widgets
  • Not providing anymore concurrent session license model
It is particularly suited for live data consumption from BW for all kind of reporting / dashboarding when data doesn't need to be transformed.
Particularly for Finance, sales and marketing, all types of corporate reporting.
It is not appropriate if external data sets need to be linked to data exposed from BW.

I currently use SAP Analytics Cloud for planning and reporting purposes. We currently use SAP Analytics Cloud for 5 Year Planning on both an operational level and HR level. Additionally, we use it for our monthly reporting for our business partners to provide live dashboards on their current expense management.
  • Dashboards
  • Report Creation
  • Planning
  • Key Driver Planning
  • SAP Analytics Cloud can be daunting for new users, plus the unfamiliar user interface behind the designer panel can be daunting for new users or users who've predominantly only used one system previously.
  • The timing of how long it can take to pull reports from large data bases.
  • There is currently no line item commenting that can be done to specific measures that will remain in place. Such as Budget line item planning in BPC AO
SAP Analytics Cloud is a great reporting tool and can provide a lot of added value to make decisions. This tool is powerful and the planning portion is well done especially the customization down to a user level. One of the main features that can be worrisome is the new user experience and the potential errors for disaggregation.

It is a challenging product to use. First it is complicated and not intuitive. If you don't have a model in mind the tool is not going to work well no matter how well intentioned you are. That may not be SAP's fault but an important prerequisite that the marketing team ignores because they will not sell the product if that is acknowledged up front. From a business perspective, SAP is to blame even if the model is weak.
It is also very expensive, twice as much a Microsoft's visualization products. So comparing the two just for visualization, Microsoft wins hands down for cost and intuitive use. That is not a winning combination. We had to back away from the product because of thee challenges that SAP was not in a position to help us will.
  • Connection to SAP, therefore a much more secure and SOX compliant tool
  • Master data is aligned and less data cleansing is required.
  • Hierarchies come from the HANA system and are intuitive and prebuilt
  • Too expensive. Twice the cost of Microsoft
  • Not able to one click into a report. Requires too much set up and replacement when updated.
  • A more intuitive interface, there were a lot of gotchas when building a model from scratch.
A SOX compliant report - excellent
Hierarchies required - excellent

Detailed modeling - hard to do
Inputting new data - hard to do.

We use SAC to report our Financial Statements and review the inventory subledger. The product allows use to utilize hierarchies to enhance our data and reporting. The product allows us to easily create visualizations based on models where multiple data sources are combined. The tool also integrates with Excel to allow for flexible financial reporting.
  • Easily create visualizations
  • Apply master data properties to transactional data
  • Upload data from multiple data sources
  • Enhanced modeling capabilities
  • Blending data from multiple models
  • Accessing live data via Excel
SAP Analytics Cloud is well suited to apply a structure to your data to allow for the creation of helpful visualizations and easy KPI creation. SAP Analytics Cloud is well suited to allow for mobile compatible reporting. SAC is less appropriate for blending data from different models.
