SAP - Heart of a procurer
I used it when we were trying to onboard KRAHEJA - A luxury real estate brand of Mumbai wherein the complete sales cycle was done on SAP.
The moment we raised the PI, it was added by the customer admin and after filling necessary details, the corresponding PO was raised.
Similarly, the invoice details were filled by our finance wherein we uploaded all the bank and GST details and basis on a 3-step hierarchy, we were given approvals after the due dilligence.
This made the complete process transparent for us and automated for the customer and real-time updates were recorded.
From procurement, sales and finance stand point, SAP solves the problem very efficiently leaving a WOW element for all.
- streamlining of cross-functional processes
- transparency amongst the users
- automations
- The login process is sometime tedious for first time users
- The console is slightly tough to understand for the users at time
Large Enterprises with Complex Procurement Needs

Compliance and Risk Management
E-Procurement and Catalog Management
Less Appropriate Scenarios:
Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)
Limited IT Resources
Simple Procurement Processes
Resistance to Change
Short-Term Procurement Needs
Increases efficiency, but difficult to learn!
- Streamlining
- Consolidation
- Reduction of time
- Project management
- Interface is complex
- Lack of training

SAP Ariba effectiveness after use.
- Simple and easy to understand UI where no extra training is required
- Very fast processing compared to any other software
- Very effective workflow for faster end to end results
- Has wonderful features which are easily understandable
- SAP can include a help page or a simple guide page for certain new features that are added in latest updates.
- We get very little information about new SAP products which are in the market.A little more information about new products through an additional page in old products or an latest news/updates page would be wonderful.
- SAP has always been using white and blue colour combination everywhere.Would love to see and added colour in the interface.

- navigation
- comparison of respondents
- more comparison of proponents
- sometimes proponents attach documents that are 'missing' when the information is viewed
- I've received so many complaints from proponents (over many RFPs) that they cannot use Ariba, it is not intuitive. Perhaps create user guides that are readily available for proponents who are less computer savvy
