As with any new software or product, support is important. As we are a very large company, our IT Department is always busy so it is important to have direct support from the SAP Ariba team. It is good to have a customer support representative that follows us through the entire process and beyond.

Customer support has always been top notch. From small configuration changes to overall process changes, support has the teammates in place with excellent knowledge and is able to provide solutions based on business challenges quickly. Their customer support through their Account teams continues to be hands on and very responsive to needs in a timely fashion.

On average, it takes a long time (2-4 months) to get issues resolved and can take multiple meetings to clarify the problem before the Customer Support team starts working on it.
On a positive note, we do feel a lot of openness from team.

During the bring-up, I have provided the workflow inputs to our internal project manager and drove our requirements as a part of the bring-up. There were some minor workflow fixes that were scheduled and addressed timely and accordingly. Tests and bring-up was pretty seamless. User training was simple and therefore the user early adapters were quick to adjust and change.

We needed several interactions with them to get information about API integrations. They don't understand our business requirements (we thought these requirements were obvious but it seems that not). They gave us information that did not meet the requirements and we had to start over again. Finally, we got the right information.

The support is both on a self service and external type. We have not used the external type as yet. The self service support appears to be good. We are fortunate in that we have not needed to utilize on a frequent basis. The program does provide input and rejection when items are not correctly input.

There were quite a number of times where I had login issues with the site for no reason at all, there are sometimes bugs on the home screen that you have to refresh the web page to get rid of, Ariba support needs to up their game, for this is a software being employed in big leagues and has to be developed to stay worthy of it.
