Developer support is required in case a major change in template is required and the user cannot take informed decision until change is made and SAP developer support is reliable in case of change request.

Also their user community is a good source for clearing any issues and have a reliable community of verified users ensuring the apt solution is received in case of a problem

SAP Crystal report is very supportive in daily need of reports or any organization. Basic functionality of operational reports detailing the Sales Order details or PO in a manner which can be used very easily. A readily available solution for delivering any customized need in terms of pixelated reporting can be met easily with the tool.

Case response has been good over the years, but fortunately not really needed since the product is very stable.
However, SAP seems to have lost its focus on Crystal and has not made much of an attempt at keeping it competitive with other products. There has been a push to start exploring other options.

SAP doesn't actively support SAP Crystal Reports unless you have other SAP software, although good support is available from some SAP employees along with volunteers on the SAP Community site. (I'm one of the people who answer questions there...)

1) Support system executives are nice and friendly. They try to understand your problem and try to solve as soon as possible.
2) They give proper direction how to solve your problems.
3) Most of the time you can find your qstions's answer on INTERNET , FAQ's easily so that you don't have to wait for a long time to solve it.

Support forums are a plus and the user community is excellent, I believe SAP could do a better job of providing some initial setup and deployment support to all users. Successful implementation only helps them sell more software.

Good news - we have had not had to submit an incident for SAP Support; any issue we have had with Crystal Reports we can search the SAP Community site and the error is resolved. It is a top used SAP Community and I recommend everyone use it when they have an issue.

The support community can be difficult to navigate. I've also run into issues with my login. The SAP system has a bizarre mechanism for validating users that requires users to have what is called an S-ID. A basic ID may not give you access to all the features in the portal. The limitation may include not being able to perform a simple task like downloading patches and updates. This isn't a big deal for single user license but for teams it can be a pain.
