The solution includes prebuilt connectors and business content based on best practices for SAP and non-SAP systems.

SAP Build includes the following products:
  • SAP Build Apps (formerly SAP AppGyver) - A professional application development solution designed for anyone to quickly create apps without code, regardless of role or skill level. It enables users to build apps in a visual, drag-and-drop interface.
  • SAP Build Process Automation - Enables business users to automate workflow processes and tasks without writing code with pre-built workflows, bots, and connectors for SAP and non-SAP systems.

Our goal is to increase the use of automation in all financial operations in order to serve the business units with better quality and productivity. Human resources can be allocated to more value-based processes. At the moment SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation is used to create sales orders and enter financial master data. Next steps would be, for example, the automation of archiving and entering manual accounting documents.

In the area of financial processes, the automation can be widely used. With very complex or rarely occurring processes, the creation and testing of the workflow is more time consuming than the future benefits merit.

Currently we are using SAP RPA in multiple areas within Tenneco on our Clean Air division. The main business problem this has been addressing is automating manual download processes from SAP and placing data files on shared networks where they can be used for additional processing.
Pros and Cons
  • Works well with automation within SAP
  • Has standard packages for integrations between excel, word, FS, etc
  • Allows for flexibility with JavaScript programmers
  • Not extremely user friendly
  • Non IT based users can not use it to develop their own stuff - they require IT
  • Doesn't always work well with a VM

  • RPA works well when downloading and extracting data from SAP variants/reports, and inputting values into standard fields
  • Reading and loading data from Excel

SAP IRPA is well suited for our staff to enter general information when procuring items for the firm. We believe it will also play a large role in how users enter time.
