We use it to host learning and onboarding content — courses/learning paths and live trainings (ILTs) — for customers and employees. We use it to leverage the time and expertise of our subject matter experts and trainers to scale up our implementation and support resources. We are able to set up teams for all of our customers and then their own team leaders manage users, course assignments, and reporting.
  • Team creation and management
  • Course creation and simple interactive content creation
  • Course assignment and libraries
  • No easy method for posting recordings of live training sessions
  • Searching is rough — often exact titles are needed
  • Limited options for displaying course information to learners
  • Limited surveying ability across all courses or live trainings
  • 30-day limit in a lot of reports
Litmos is great for a scalable training/onboarding/learning platform for customers and employees. It's probably overkill for a small number of users. It's well suited for a combination of courses and live sessions and can be a "go to" resource.

  • For one of our product lines, what used to require 8-10 onboarding calls now only needs two and we are aiming to get that down to just one or potentially none. Customers can learn on demand using the courses we have constructed for them and continue their learning live with trainers.
  • By hosting all of our training in one place, we have made onboarding much more straightforward for employees — they can learn the product (same training we give customers) and also get their InfoSec and other training in one place.
  • Canvas
Litmos and Canvas are very different. Canvas is a full-blown LMS that's great for schools. Litmos is much more targeted for corporate training and compliance, and combinations of training and live sessions.
It's overall pretty straightforward to use — both for admins/creators and learners.
  • Teams really give a great ability to decentralize management.
  • Great content creation tools
  • Integrated live sessions
A few wonky workflows persist, though:
  • Reporting has some limitations (e.g., 30 day limit, ugh)
  • Search is rough and we get reports that content can be difficult to find
  • More granular admin/editing permissions would help
Our initial implementation was straightforward. Documentation is clear and we were able to do most everything on our own.
No. Not needed and I'm not sure I know what it is.
Yes
Yes it was resolved to my satisfaction but wasn't explained by the bug happened. It's happened a couple of times.

This is out Learning Management System to train new hires on compliance courses and also use it for specific focused training for things such as phlebotomy, medical assistants, etc. There are compliance courses thru SAP Litmos that are done In Person during onboarding but there is no way to incorporate them as inperson class that shows them as complete. Each one has to be individually marked as complete. If there is a solution, there really is no one to ask as their support is not helpful to our needs. Rather than have a conversation it is all thru a ticket and they often direct you to their videos or material which doesn't help work out a solution. We were two months into setting up the LMS for the company, and I was still learning the program with the assistance of the sales person. Their reorganization changed all support to online or their videos and written material which is extremely difficult when you are setting up a brand new program. Every question still has to be sent thru support since there are no actual people to talk to. Their support pages are the most confusing and frustrating help tickets I have ever dealt with. Even today, I got an email about new features and can not find the page that will list all of the new courses. Every support page has you choose among the numerous products--and SAP Litmos never seems to be listed or if it is, it has a different term for it. If I knew this when we invested the money to purchase Litmos, we would have gone to another LMS program.
  • Creating content is relatively easy
  • Support pages are much too complicated
  • Support page needs to be designed for one product, not every product
  • I would like a representative to whom I could ask simple questions without going thru support tickets
  • They eliminated our own onboarding person to help understand the program when we purchased it so I have to research every question I have--a real time waster
The content is very good and very diverse. That is what sold us on the program. However, support in incorporating this into our organization was dropped in their reorganization; thus, they get a 1 on recommendation. I had to teach myself everything--I did not have a Litmos partner to help me work with the aspects of the LMS and make it work for our company.

  • Easier to track compliance completion and reminders
  • Reporting is clumsy if you need to customize the reporting
  • Easy to see if users have completed required courses
  • Can not seem to get a report of previous year's completion of compliance
We purchased SAP Litmos because of the learning content it offered. However the implementation was extremely difficult because it all fell on me--there was no partner to help me through it and set it up the best way for our organization. Therefore, there are still things I feel are not done in the easiest manner.
Some things are easy--creating course content, but there are issues that users ask me that I don't understand, such as multiple emails saying they need to complete a course but they completed it before it was actually due. My managers have a difficult time figuring out how to assign items. I have a difficult time creating custom reports. The standard reports are fine.
Because SAP took away the person working with us to implement the program, I had to learn and try everything by myself which is why I don't believe I use the program in the best manner possible for my organization. Basically they had no implementation after their reorganization.
Turning it on was one thing, setting it up for staff use was difficult without a person to turn to. Basically I had to teach myself everything since there was no person to walk me through implementation. There is still no one person to turn to.
If I could give it a negative rating I would. Worst support from any program I have had. Everything is back and forth in the support ticket. The one time I tried to chat they could not support the question. Their support page is so full of sections and products I can never find anything I need, even with a customized home page. I was hopeful that once they left SAP support might improve but it has not. I don't even know who my account executive is. Nobody has ever reached out to me. I need someone to guide me through best practices for our company and there is nobody to do that.
I appreciate new releases, but today I could not even find the page that showed the new release features. Every time I use any of their support pages I feel nothing but frustration.
Yes, it is easier to make sure learners are doing assignments and easier for managers to see their progress.

The content Litmos supplies is very good, which was a major reason for our decision. The price was competitive. When we purchased it I did have a sales representative who was helping with implementation but due to reorganization, she was terminated with no replacement or outreach within 2 months. I had hardly started learning the system.
I would never have purchased this product if I knew support was only ticket based with no verbal interaction and no implementation specialist to help customize this program.
I don't know anything about premium support--never heard of it before.
Yes
Yes, they did advise me when it was going to be fixed in a release and it did get fixed.
No, there has never been a time where I feel there has been exceptional support.

We needed to find an LMS to host the content for our users. Content that is facing Customers, Partners, and even company employees. Instead of using Google Drive, Zendesk, High Spot, and other platforms we wanted a single place to host all the relevant content to those groups. Sure, we manage to create a hierarchy and distinguish content so Partners and Customers will see similar and different content. We also use the LMS as an onboarding track for our departments, R&D, Customer Support, Professional Services, and more. Easy to track, easy to use, and good report mechanisms, We also use it as our training platform for our product and deliver Instructor Led certification courses. We send Zoom invites through the system to users' calendars, and users who pass the exams can download a soft copy of the certificate.
  • Good Reporting mechanism
  • Certificate Generation
  • User Tracking
  • The reporting mechanism is OK - but can be better. highly complex - with some bugs that are still under investigation.
  • changes in the platform that are done periodically - should not break the user's portal as it happens several times.
  • SAP Litmos Ideas is OK, equivalent for Feature request, functionality wise, I would recommend adding Video Speed control, Adding the undo action for users deletion, learning path inside learning path, questions in exams to be with more options like in other vendors, and question numbering (which is very basic).
I brought this system to the company and used it as a user in my previous company. I know the bits and the bytes for the system, I spent more hours in it daily than any other user in the company. I added content to it from scratch, customized it from the ground, onboarded people to it, and tracked everything on it - it is kinda like my baby. To be in a position where the LMS can serve in production, you should invest time in shaping and sharpening it to have the assistance of the Dev team. Some areas, like modules & checkboxes, are with limited functionality, as well as clicking on links with HTTPS and "leaving" the LMS to the external site. Yes, some vendors do this stuff differently, but it is a trade-off. I would still use this system.

  • During the time of the pandemic, when we could not deliver face-to-face training, this platform became our new way to deliver Remote Instructor Led Training. this actually saved the business, reduce the cost of flights and hotels, and classrooms, and also we were able to keep on selling the ILT courses and the system ROI was quick.
there are pros and cons for every system
I truly know the system better than anyone else in this company - I know what this system can and cannot do. It shapes the lives of people in this organization on so many levels. even Executives use it - that says a lot.
SaaS service is so easy. Granted with Portal to Play with - that is it
Go to live is simple, just needed to publish the URL to users,
The value is immediate
Amazing support - I opened many cases in the past, like any other software it is not bugs free - but folks there always kind and polite and do their best to assist.
Not too much.
We keep on growing any day. users sending feedbacks and rating on the courses content, suggestion for improvement - nothing like good UX.

yes multiple times
Yes, I had to make an integration with a 3rd party IDP, I had a ticket with them that was assigned to a user at a different timezone, I called support, and they took responsibility and moved the ticket to someone else who can assist right away when I had the IDP on the line with them. amazing and kinda stressful experience!

We use Litmos for all of our external and internal training, professional development, and learning. Internally, it is used to train members across all departments of our organization. Litmos has addressed the gaps in in-person programming by providing us with a solution that allows us to reach our network and parts of the population that have not been reached.

  • Increased training compliance.
  • Reporting
Superior support and user ability. Better content authoring and customization.
User-friendly courses and design. Accessibility features.
Plan ahead and incorporate time for beta-testing.
Adobe Illustrator CC, Vyond (formerly GoAnimate)
Everything was manageable so I could launch at any point.
Ease of use and ability to create
Had some issues when it came to integrating the system to salesforce, and the litmos support was hard to reach at numerous points.
All helpful and necessary. When the content authoring tool was released, it made a big difference in use time.
Digital, on-demand learning. Less meetings. More cohesion.
