[We are] using SAP CRM to mainly support the Service Process. The solution addresses the creation of service orders and its subsequent process like service confirmations, resource planning, work performed, billing etc. The solution is also used to place sales orders in the system for service parts. Interaction Center is used by the agents to initiate and support the service process.
  • Address Key Functionalities like Sales Orders, Service Orders, Service Confirmation, Billing
  • Good Integration with the ERP system, Robust Architecture
  • Supports wide range of functional capabilities and industry wide best practices scenarios.
Cons
  • Improvements can be made to the UI. Need to make it more user friendly. With new web UI lot of improvements have been made but still falls behind other CRM systems like Sales Force in Usability.
  • The Web User Interface is a little slow compared to other CRM systems

Most Comprehensive CRM Solution on the Market !

1. SAP CRM supports a lot of Industry wide process. So Analyze and check what percentage of your needs can be fulfilled using out of the box solutions. This is a key feature when compared to other CRM systems.

2. Do you have a established business process? SAP CRM has been built keeping in mind the best practices used across different industries. This is very helpful when you are trying to define or improve a existing business process.

3. Are you already using a SAP ERP system? If so then integration is very easy and most of your master data can be downloaded from the ERP system which saves lot of time and effort!

4. Consider the infrastructure needs for SAP CRM. Its usually a little on the higher side compared to other systems.

5. If you are looking for Analytics then keep in mind that most of the Analytics features in SAP CRM are dependent on using SAP BI

"SAP- easy to learn, implement, friendly and safe and customizable, lots of options."

Some departments in our company use SAP CRM. It's simple to use, intuitive, and a one-stop shop for everything I need. It simplifies travel and expense reporting because it's all in one place. Many tasks, such as managing sales or providing customer service, have been completed on the platform without using multiple services. Billings, sales orders, customer orders, balance sheets, and profitability are easily handled and tracked. These tools provide a comprehensive view of how customers are performing.
  • The platform makes it easy to monitor progress and generate and view reports, which helps us better understand the data we've gathered.
  • Case management from beginning to end is excellent, and the mobile application is incredible but somewhat limited in functionality, although it is well worth using.
  • Intuitive and easy to use, it is possible to manage multiple emails and establish a pattern for automated responses.
Cons
  • Compared to other CRM products, this one is more difficult to learn and use.
  • SAP CRM isn't particularly user-friendly or efficient, and it could stand to be more so.
  • Managing another SAP machine is costly and requires more system design/configuration.
SAP CRM is a well-designed platform for small to medium-sized businesses that want to manage their customer-centric operations through a single pane of glass. Changes can be made quickly and easily for different scenarios. Many features allow flexibility and scalability, making it ideal for large industries with significant capital and customer bases. Data automation helps maintain a healthy relationship with customers.

We use SAP CRM to manage Trade Promotions, Funding, and Claims. The majority of our user base is through our third party broker spread across the US. By working with our SAP ECC module CRM supports our pricing and accounting functions. In CPG trade spend can be quite substantial, and it is important to manage this spend well.
  • Integrates with ECC smoothly, and without issue.
  • Consistent and Flexible. We have been able to adapt all pre-existing business processes to SAP CRM.
  • Claims management works consistently well, and all accounting is accurate and documented
Cons
  • Currently, the Web GUI is dependent on outdated versions of Internet Explorer to function. There may be a patch now, but what a ridiculous limitation to have for a production product.
  • There are challenges with speed of the user interface, and the UI feels dated.
  • BI integration has been slow and painful. Developing multi providers to support CRM data has been challenging to say the least.
I hate to say it, but I think that the days of large enterprise software packages are behind us. The codebase is old and over complicated. Customization is possible, but it will cost you. Even the web based application only serves to show how painfully clumsy SAP is when compared with its competitors in the CRM space.

SAP CRM does the job though I guess, and if integration with enterprise central component (ECC) is essential then it is worth considering, but if you are not already stuck in the SAP ecosystem, your best bet is to avoid it entirely.

The main benefits are the SAP ERP direct integration, cloud solution so our sales managers can query and update data on realtime directly from the customer visits. Cloud database of customers, contacts and products which integrates natively with SAP ERP and the possibility to get and update complex pricing directly from SAP ERP so we don't need to maintain the pricing on several environments. Also the 360º view of the customers allows our sales team to query all customer info, their sales data and ERP detailed data from the same spot and using the cloud so they can query it from the mobile phone or tables.

  • Integration with SAP ERP
  • Customer 360º view from a single spot
  • Customers and Products cloud database
Cons
  • Allow more visibility of the fulfillment sales processes: delivery, invoice, billing...
  • There are restrictions on Org. Structure talking about sales offices. They should work just like in the ERP
  • Maybe allow simple logic programming routines to control fields behaviour (they are trying on V2)
Well suited:
  • SAP ERP integration
  • Sales flow from Lead to Sales order
  • Customer 360º View
  • Query all the info from the Cloud meaning you can use your mobile devices on the go to check and update dat
Less appropiate:
  • Invoice and delivery info
  • Customization and personalization
  • Workflows are very limited

Great tool. Easy and comprehensive

We do store our Business cases and CRM. It created a great used cases folder to ensure communication between teams and former employees.
the easy access from phone and non-vpn devices helps to get the info everywhere at the right time. I do recommend this tool and think that Helps on a daily basis.
  • Business cases
  • Customer contact management
  • Price strategy creation
Cons
  • Better mobile app
  • Payback analysis
Best: buy-sell operations
need to improve: make products with long costing BOM
