  • The biggest ROI for us has been time. We have saved so much wasted time by cutting down on replacing multiple physical servers with more hardware to maintain.
  • We also have saved quite a bit of money by not having to buy lots of new hardware. Scale nodes make it much easier for us to really take advantage of and allocate resources more efficiently than physical servers ever did.

  • Scale has a positive impact on ROI due to savings versus competing virtualization platforms with expensive licensing.
  • Scale's storage capabilities allow us to optimize storage costs versus traditional server architecture.
  • Support and warranty from one vendor is easier to manage and less costly then competing brands.

  • In government, we must consider sustainability of what we choose. Scale is in a price range that improves our sustainability, while having predictable ongoing service requirements.
  • The Scale solution has made it possible to begin planning for business continuity, with minimal or no downtime. The costs with other solutions were not considered feasible.

  • Our experience on both use and ROI has been positive. We’re able to be more flexible to users needs and have achieved much faster response times when something new is needed. We’ve also been able to focus on our quality systems and customer centric systems instead of maintaining a bunch of hardware and spending hours chopping up luns and configuring what workloads need to be run on what servers.

  • We have experienced cost reduction to our Disaster Recovery solution. The prior expense of 1 year of DR can now cover multiple years using Scale HC3 with Cloud Unity.
  • Our Scale solution is more cost effective than our legacy solution. The cost of 1 major component (appliance) from our legacy solution was approximately half the cost of our production Scale cluster.

  • We saved $14,000 in VMware licensing fees by making the change. That's $14k every 3 years.
  • We increased our disaster recovery response by having an extra node for the same price as a Nutanix solution.
  • I was able to train a person on how to use it in less than a day, very easy to use.

  • Moving from physical MS Window servers to virtual MS Servers running on Scale Computing HC3 in essence provided us with more MS Server licenses automatically.
  • Whether unboxing, setting up a new machine and installing its OS, or performing machine recoveries, time to complete tasks are counted in minutes now, instead of hours.
  • Scale Computing HC3 software updates are applied to one machine at a time, with you in control of each node upgrade, and no downtime to the VMs as it automatically moves the VMs around to allow updates to be applied that need a node to be rebooted.

  • Good initial ROI, when comparing to other HC or distributed stack deployments.
  • Enabled growth of VMs and business intelligence similar to the ability you have on a public cloud with a fixed price.
  • Potential awareness of initial bulk price vs ongoing price when buying as needed vs additional bulk pricing.

  • I think Scale Computing is hard to beat in terms of ROI. If you go with a cheaper solution you will most likely spend more time supporting and managing. Go with a more expensive solution and you buy features you may not need. Scale Computing was the perfect balance for us and provided the best ROI.

  • Too soon to tell, but I project an overall reduction of about 40% in software and hardware.
  • Training and support should be able to be done in house as opposed to outsourced. Probably close to 100K savings each year for HQ alone.
  • Remote site support and time to resolution should be cut in half or better.

  • The number one thing Scale has done for me is give me peace of mind. I don't fear that ransomware or something else is going to cost me my job.
  • Time savings have come with the virtual machines taking less time to reboot and to create. I was able to create 3 new domain controllers in about 25% of the time it took me on physical servers.
  • Having the ability to kick off servers at the remote locations means that my down time is minutes instead of hours or days.

  • Prior to using HC3, our disaster recovery options were limited to replicating to out-buildings. With HC3 we now also replicate hosts to our other facilities, ensuring continuity should the worst occur.
  • Managing an environment consisting entirely of physical hosts is time-consuming and limiting, since CPU and storage resources cannot be easily adjusted based on needs.
  • Control technicians can perform nearly all system administrator functions, eliminating the need for a dedicated system administrator -- instead, we share our corporate system administrator resources to provide escalation support when needed.
