Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Our restaurant is currently establishing a training curriculum for all positions in our company. As a growing business it was important for us to be able to streamline our training and maintain consistency through all locations. With Schoox we are able to customize our training to our brand specificly and periodically add new lessons for staff and monitor their progress. This allows us to make sure our staff is always maintaining the highest of standards.
Pros
  • You are able to track your staffs' progress with their training.
  • You can periodically add new lessons to specific employees if you see there is an area where they need work.
  • When training new employees, management can keep notes on their profile and all other managers can access at any time.
Cons
  • It can be difficult in the beginning to figure out where you need to go for certain tasks in the beginning
Likelihood to Recommend
I feel that in a restaurant setting this is a very good training platform. I find that it is especially good for younger people as it is set up in a way that is similar to social media which is appealing to the younger generations and makes them more likely to actually complete the training. The app makes it especially convenient.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use Schoox mainly to administer testing and assessment, measure competency and track training completion for our restaurant leadership roles.
Pros
  • It is extremely easy to build simple courses and tests using SMEs and not professional developers.
  • The UI is extremely easy to use and the help files and support documentation allow one to complete work within Schoox without needing much training.
  • The integration with our HRIS system was very easy to do.
Cons
  • I wish there were an easier way to set up dashboards for regional trainer reporting.
  • Not all of the features work well on mobile devices (e.g. polls).
  • I would like to have access to more administrative features on the mobile app.
Likelihood to Recommend
Schoox is very well suited for a training team that has limited training or expertise on setting up an LMS. It is fairly full featured and easy to set up and use.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Our company uses HotSchedules Train powered by Schoox for all of our new hire teammate training as well as information and product roll outs. Our teammates like using their smartphones in the first place, so we moved our training to something they already have in their hands. It also lets us capitalize on micro-learning and instant feedback.
Pros
  • Customization so we can make the information interactive.
  • We can make updates instantaneously in the case of new operating procedures or products.
  • We can track and report each location and users progress to ensure the information is being reviewed and it also provides a time stamp.
Cons
  • Making reports easier to export and add more information for reporting. i.e. by department.
  • Identifying which content is for which users. Some content cannot be hidden from everyone - and we don't want everyone to see it.
  • The ease of use and mobility getting from course to course and, if needed, moving backwards.
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited: Reviewing appetizer and dessert descriptions and recipes and then quizzing the user on the appetizers and desserts. The user cannot move on until they answer all questions correctly. Also, the OTJ Training can be checked off to prove the user knows what was taught in person.
Less suited: Having a server actual spiel and 'wait' on a table.

We have all our employees take quizzes though Train. We also have new hires watch videos we have set up.
Pros
  • The system grades all the quizzes so managers and team members do not have to.
  • Train provides an easy way to create new training material and reaches all your current employees.
Cons
  • The navigation of the site is confusing and hard to get from one place to another.
  • The report dashboard is a bit confusing.
Likelihood to Recommend
If the material is kept up on and someone manages your Schoox system, the program itself is easy to use.

HotSchedules Train is being used across our entire organization. We're using it for initial employee training, new manager training, compliance, and ongoing training and development.
Pros
  • Easily navigable
  • Easy at-a-glance reporting
  • Easily add content
Cons
  • Difficult to troubleshoot SCORM issues - there's no apparent error or log to check
  • Would like to see reporting/admin functions available on the mobile app
  • Sometimes customer service pushes back on integration issues for you to solve as opposed to working together to solve issues on their end with integration
Likelihood to Recommend
Thus far, Train has shown initial success in basic transfer of knowledge and validation of skills. There aren't any situations that I've used it for yet (hourly training, management training, ongoing development, compliance, etc.) that I wouldn't use it for again in the future. It is definitely suitable for check-the-box compliance info and blended learning.
