SharpSpring is our enterprise CRM. It's used for database marketing, email generation, [email] sending, campaign tracking, and sales organization. We have a lot of segments in our industry. SharpSpring is used to keep them organized and help us [to] effectively market to them. Our sales team needs to know about lead activity and to keep their opportunity flow up to date and visible.
  • SharpSpring is a great platform for email marketing. We use it to organize our content, market to each of our segment lists, and then analyze campaigns.
  • SharpSpring is effective for campaign tracking. We use it to find where leads come from and [...] how to effectively manage each of our segment-focused campaigns.
  • The "Life of a Lead" is an excellent feature within SharpSpring. This highly visual tool allows us to view detailed activity by each of our leads - from emails they open to what web pages they visit.
  • The email builder within SharpSpring is usable, but definitely not user friendly. I recommend building the emails elsewhere and importing the code.
  • The sales management tool could use a few more default reports beyond those that are currently available.
  • Their customer service is great, but I think the training could use some improvement. In fact, we've had to go outside for some of our user training.
Email marketing is definitely a strength of SharpSpring. It's easy to create, schedule and target emails. We have [sixty] segments that we market to, so this is a huge plus for us. Automation is easy to set up and modify, even if you have a complex use case.

The reports are very detailed and it's easy to download them.

Our sales team wants to know which leads are hot prospects, so we use the lead scoring function to provide that visibility. In several cases, we have customized the lead score values, and that has helped our Team improve their outreach.

The Life of a Lead function has the [team] most excited, as it's easy to see exactly what web pages a prospect has clicked on, what emails they have opened, and how they found us in the first place. In this way, we know what each prospect is most interested in.

The Launch Pad also helps our Team know what's new at a glance when they first log in.

As agency we use it to keep contact with our group of clients and users in order to create ambassadors. They are the magnets for new clients.
We use it in all phases of the customer journey and on a long term flow with connections to our ERP and all marketing channels.

On the other side we support our clients by implementing SharpSpring on a high level use. To use it as salesteam, marketing team, social media marketing and as a business tool to report, finetune and predict daily and future marketing efforts and sales results.
We believe that marketing and sales are changing rapidly and winners will be those who are able to build day by day a system that is superior in content, flow and processes then those of the competition, and in sync with the business financial leverage possibilities.

I use it to manage my connections both internal to my business as well as external—client-facing. It is used across all areas of the business. I also resell and onboard agencies/clients onto the platform. The problems it addresses are around marketing & communication automation and integration, having 1 holistic view of the customer.

It is well suited and adaptable to any environment/organization/need. Based on its pricing and service offering, it is easier to get it into an organization, especially since I know it has great value and measurement of ROI. Very small organizations struggle to understand the value in context and maybe less suited in this case.

As a marketing agency, we were a reseller of SharpSpring's marketing automation product. It is used by our customers to run email, social and website engagement campaigns on their ecommerce webstores. We regularly ran email newsletters, lead gen, abandoned cart follow up, and other types of campaigns for our customers. We also used the API to build custom integrations.

  • Account management is inattentive and slow to respond to inquiries
  • Leadership does not empower account managers to fix customer problems
  • Billing and accounting mistakes are frequent and challenging to resolve
  • Account and relationship terms are often changed without notice, or buried inside marketing messages.
SharpSpring's product is quite functional and largely works as advertised. I would recommend it to a company who is comfortable being self-reliant in their use of the software, and willing to work around bugs when they do come up. The problems with SharpSpring are almost entirely inside the administration of the company. Your front-line support and account reps are friendly and responsive, but not empowered to make decisions or help solve customer problems. When escalated to higher-ups in the company, relationships become very challenging. On at least 5 occasions we brought up serious issues, and gave up on resolving them after reaching the point of exhaustion.

Our entire organization uses some feature or the entire software. Our sales guys use Opportunities & CRM, our Marketing uses the email and automation features for drip campaigns and our finance team used Accounts to cross-reference any accounting contact issues. The rest of the team uses Contact Management to leave special account notes or communicate internally regarding a particular order or lead. SharpSpring creates a centralized software solution for our growing business.
  • Pipeline management: keeping what sales leads and sales opportunities move through the funnel to ensure each salesperson is constantly working leads and closing deals.
  • Contact Management is a great CRM element that integrates with sales opportunities, marketing automation while monitoring the life of the lead elements.
  • Notes are a huge element to keeping pertinent information readily available in a centralized location within each Lead Contact.
  • The social platform integration is not something we rely on, primarily because there are other platforms that specialize in these areas.
  • Mobile integration via a more robust app or better formatting for mobile browsers could be improved.
This is a great software that adds extreme value to our organization. It's a 9/10 because there is always room for a little improvement, but, overall, this is a great platform for our team. Every part of our organization utilizes some form of the platform. I would not recommend this for a robust $100M business that has 50k leads annually as the software seems as if it will get overwhelmed. I do feel that this is an incredible software for the start-up to $50M business.

SharpSpring is the core customer lead generation tool for the start-up Book Me Bob. It is used by the founders as well as the reseller team on the road. It's our central point of information to ensure credit is given for leads as well as our email marketing and retargeting platform.
  • Lead tracking and monitoring is exceptional. Monitor your potential customers activity.
  • Retargeting through the "Ads" platform is user friendly and enables tracking up to 90 days of direct website visitors.
  • Ability for the senior leaders in the organization to have visibility over the pipeline and collaborate on individual contact's information.
  • Some of the trigger functionality for emails is a little hard to follow without undertaking the formal training modules.
  • The "Ads" section being on a separate platform was an inconvenience, but this has been resolved with the section incorporated.
For start-up SaaS businesses this is a platform I would recommend when starting out. I can see the value in other industries, but this is the one that we have worked on. For any business that has multiple internal touch points for one customer, the SharpSpring functionality would serve you well.

We put together marketing automation workflows that help our marketing efforts take leads through the sales funnel.
  • Dynamic Content--it allows us to get the content that best fits each lead based on different parameters, either demographic or not.
  • Email marketing--we can design emails and send them through SharpSpring to different lists with dynamic content and through workflows.
  • Forms--integrating webpage forms to SharpSpring helps getting leads through the funnel.
  • The landing page builder is a bit stiff; if you want to move elements is not as friendly but works fine.
  • I would like an easier integration for onboarding; everything is explained but you have to go to different processes in order to implement.
Every agency should use SharpSpring. It helps get the job done and get more qualified leads for our customers.

I want to be able to tailor my tools exactly to each client I work with, without compromising on functionality or efficiency. That's why SharpSpring has been a perfect fit for me! Not only is it affordable for a small agency like mine, who works with small businesses, but it's extremely powerful, and capable of executing any strategy my team or my clients require. The most complete and functional marketing automation platform out there!

Sharpspring has been incredibly helpful in allowing our agency's small team to connect with leads, follow up on project prospects, organize our communications, and so much more. It allows us to accomplish a lot more for our clients, and to land more profitable projects, because we are able to take the day-to-day of marketing communication off the table, and let SharpSpring handle it! It's also been a game-changer for our B2C clients, who are able to personalize and target their marketing efforts to specific clients, and have seen great growth in engagement and revenue!

It is also great to help my small business clients connect with their customers on a personal level through targeted marketing and communications.
I think it might not be the platform for you, if you are looking for something simple for non-tech-savvy users. There's a lot of features and functionality in this product, and unless you have administrators who know how to use it properly, you definitely won't be getting the most out of the marketing automation, email, and lead tracking features. However, the support and onboarding teams were great at getting me set up within the platform, and while they may make it complicated, I appreciate the wide range of features.

SharpSpring is well suited for companies who needs a fully solution with marketing automation and CRM. It integrates all social media, emails marketing services, landing pages and so on. All this marketing tools with CRM integration results in a powerful tool for those 2 teams and sales force.
I think is less appropriate when the company has a low budget and doesn't need a CRM tool, only marketing automation. For that we have some softwares less expensive.

Our sales team is the one that uses it the most, while managers and partners often help in feeding leads information and in meetings to review department goals. We use SharpSpring for our own automated marketing and CRM as well as several of our clients. It's being used by the President, VP, and VP of Technology. The system addresses the need for a CRM program, automated marketing and also provides some analytics for our clients. Our client uses it for visitor tracking and event triggers. We use it as a good way to send personalized emails to prospects.
  • Visitor tracking is a great feature. You'll receive daily emails on who is going onto your website.
  • Event triggers or automated emails are another great feature. It allows our clients to be more self-sufficient in communicating with their prospects.
  • The CRM feature is a good feature for both us and our clients. Lead scoring is a huge plus.
  • E-mail templates are very easy to use and you can do custom coding.
  • The certification courses are time-consuming. You'll really have to invest in the time to go through each course.
  • The social media integration doesn't really do much for us. It might be good for others but it doesn't add any value.
  • The database/list uploads are a bit difficult, but that might be because they want to ensure you are uploading a clean list.
If you use a CRM program, an email marketing program, and web analytics for tracking activity to your website then this is a great affordable all-in-one tool. Companies that don't need prospecting or don't have a database won't need this system as much. It works best for companies who have a small marketing group and needs automatic triggers in order to market to their current customers or prospects.

SharpSpring has been used by marketing and salespeople in our organization. We mainly use it for e-mail marketing, lead nurturing and lead capturing. Quite often we use also content functions, e.g. landing pages, e-mail templates.
Tracking functions and lead scoring help us to understand in which stage can our prospective customers be.

This is a great CRM for small businesses and smaller agencies. It works really well for basic marketing programs and for people who don't have in-house designers. At our agency, we use SharpSpring exclusively as our CRM as well as an Automated Marketing Platform. MLO Media uses SharpSpring across our entire organization and helps keep everyone organized and on the same page. We also use SharpSpring as the main hub for all of our contacts, creative, emails, campaigns, notes, etc.

SharpSpring is well suited for most, if not all of the scenarios we run into at our agency. Sharpspring is being used by each channel of our business across the whole organization. The sales people use it to track business and set reminders to follow up and touch base once it is in the pipeline. Our marketing team uses it for automated emails and outreach, as well as tracking different campaigns that we run.

As a marketing agency, we use it as a CRM for most of our clients and also a few features for the agency itself. We use it as a contact manager, a lead generator. To keep track of our lead's behavior throughout our client's platforms and clickstream. Helps us with testing and experimentation through the email marketing automation and to get enough insights with their reporting tools for the decision-making process.

The way SharpSpring allows us to track the active investor leads is quite commendable. The opportunities feature has been pretty helpful to the team to understand the overall revenue generated and also track the subscription levels on different fundraisers that the team is handling at any point in time. With SharpSpring, we have been able to send hundreds of emails to our network of investors without any hassle and understand the engagement levels.

Our marketing department depends on SharpSpring every day to ensure we are tracking our marketing investments, attributing leads correctly, and engaging users over an extended period of time. Before SharpSpring our email template design was very limited and the automation behind it was even worse. SharpSpring allows us to use one single tool to schedule email sends, drip campaigns, and social posts, but most importantly it gives our team the information we need to support our sales department.
  • Email template design is quick and simple, but flexible enough to do what we need and more.
  • The Life of the Lead function shows us every touch point with a lead in actionable and measurable detail.
  • A single simple platform means we don't have to train someone across a variety of programs.
  • Integrations with Salesforce are less smooth than with other programs we've used in the past. With our sales department depending on Salesforce for everything we do, it is critical that this integration digs deeper in the future.
  • The social media scheduler is a little clunky and under powered. While it does the basics just fine, more complicated tasks require leaving SharpSpring.
Tracking multiple campaigns across a variety of platforms is a complicated task, but when that list is constantly growing a tool like SharpSpring that can be adapted to the various types of campaigns a marketing department runs daily is a lifesaver. If you track a small number of consistent campaigns without much variation, SharpSpring may be a little overkill.

SharpSpring is being used by sales and marketing to identify and service individuals/companies that are interested in lead generation. I found that the tools within the SharpSpring environment are robust and generally easy to use (once you understand the nomenclature). It is a high-value asset to our organization in that it acts as a force multiplier. We are a small agency, but with the marketing automation of SharpSpring, we are responding to requests 24/7. It helps us get a clear picture of buyer behavior and allows us to allocate resources when the time is right to do so. The support we received during onboarding was great and the continued help has made using it as painless as possible. Our clients are in love with it as well.

I have used Hubspot, Zoho, and Marketo, and SharpSpring is easy to implement and get going right away. It is less expensive than the big boys and handles everything that I need to have it do. If you are thinking about upping your marketing mojo with marketing automation, seriously look at SharpSpring while reviewing the other platforms available. Tracking and workflows for lead generation for my clients are really easy to set up. It helps keep everything together for us. In implementing an account-based management process, SharpSpring is really vital. The support we get is top notch. Really happy with SharpSpring.

I manage CRM and marketing tool deployments for a boutique agency. SharpSpring is one of the tools that we use/have used in the past.

In this role, I have used SharpSpring for internal marketing/sales, launched several SharpSpring sandboxes, set up several accounts, trained people, and supported with email campaign and automation builds.

  • Decent feature set.
  • Sub-par customer services.
  • Horrible email builder.
  • Strange missing features.
  • Higher than average email send issues.
  • Frequent outages.
SharpSpring is a good budget CRM for an organization that needs HubSpot but can't afford it. It tries to be HubSpot at every step but falls short in every category but price.

If you don't plan to send many email campaigns, don't plan on launching many landing pages, and mostly just need a solid sales CRM, SharpSpring is a solid choice. Their pipeline builder is among the best.

If you plan to use this primarily for emails, go anywhere else. The editor is unnecessarily complex, unintuitive, and plagued by glitches. Simple email builds take 2-3x more time than HubSpot or ActiveCampaign would.

SharpSpring falls into the trap of trying to do too much and doesn't do much of it particularly well. Their customer service is not great, taking hours to reply to a simple question and rarely knowing the answer. Most problems take 3-4 steps up the ladder to be resolved. They do treat customers well, and are somewhat responsive (falling well behind ActiveCampaign and HubSpot in response time however), usually providing an answer to a question within 24 hours.

We use SharpSpring across our entire organization as a CRM, lead generation platform, sales pipeline manager, and customer experience tool. It has an incredibly rich feature set and allowed us to get rid of other independent platforms we were using. It simplified our marketing tech stack and will save us money in the long run.
  • Easy to set up and execute very specific drip campaigns
  • Direct visibility into how our contacts are using our website and what is of interest to them
  • Immediate notification from a trigger event
  • A complete picture of the life a lead, from initial contact through final proposal
  • The video platform needs to be more user friendly; it's a little clunky to set up a call
  • As the platform is updated, you have to stay on top of the learning to use it effectively
  • Need to add Instagram to native social posting capabilities
SharpSpring is ideal for campaign management and lead nurturing. If you're looking to use it for order fulfillment, it may not be the best tool. We're starting to build it into our customer experience process to help us automate very repetitive communications paths, and it works well for that. If you need to send similar communications for customer onboarding, this works very well and is easy to customize.

We migrated to SharpSpring from SugarCRM. We needed a marketing automation and CRM application for our organization.

SharpSpring is used by our marketing team to generate leads and follow those leads through the "warming up" process. We use all of SharpSpring's functionality (email, social, landing pages, blogs, email and landing page dynamic contents, etc) for the lead generation process.

Our sales team then picks up all those leads thats have the required lead score to carry the sales process forward.

With Sugar we found we could not measure a lead's potential (lead score) in any significant way. With SharpSpring, our lead generation has greatly improved and our teams are better focusing on leads they can actually convert. We have also shortened lead conversion times.

Less Appropriate: SharpSpring can be difficult to use out of the box in teams where complex CRM features are required (ie: wher custom calculated fields are required, where custom business objects are needed). In these situations it is best to integrate SharpSpting to you CRM (many connectors already exist or you can buld your own)

More Appropriate: wherever leads need to be generated!

We use SharpSpring for a variety of things, including an effective CRM to allow our sales team to conduct their work more efficiently, allowing us to focus their time on things that continue to generate more revenue. We also use the marketing automation linked with lead generation advertising and our website to push potential clients further along our sales process, increasing our conversion rate. We use the sales sections of SharpSpring to allow us to track our best performing avenues and to track our performances to dictate strategy moving forward. We also use the email database and email marketing to keep our clients up to date with products and services. As a platform, it increases our conversion rate and gives our organization more time to focus on clients.
