SharpSpring is currently being used by the Marketing and Sales team only. SharpSpring is being used to track opportunities, people., etc. It has also been helping us create useful reports to show the management team during our sales review meetings.

  • Cannot add or save documents for contact or opportunity. So we lose out on knowing what was sent and what was not for future use.
For tracking contacts, opportunities, and writing notes for such opportunities, SharpSpring is spot-on. An overview of opportunities based on certain class types looks good while presenting such data to the senior management team. However, it could be more agile and be integrated with other platforms to push down other manual tasks for the user.

We use Sharpspring for two purposes: 1. to communicate with our current customers about new products, updates and sales. 2. To market to prospects, inform them about us and to have them become customers. It is used across the whole office for any types of communication. It is our main marketing platform and has helped us increase our sales and add over 50 new retailers so far.

  • The reports we get are extremely helpful. It has helped me craft better emails and headers as well as better predict the responses to the types of products.

  • Setting up automation flows are very intuitive.
  • The templates are good, but some more flexibility in customization would be great for those of us who are not programmers.
SharpSpring has been a great tool for all of our marketing. The development of landing pages that incorporate into our two websites was very easy. We were able to keep the themes the same and the reporting has been very helpful in terms of how we schedule our communications as well as targeting our messages.

We use it to follow life of a lead in order to identify what channel/source they come from. This helps us identify the best performing channel, hence helping us spend more money where there is the biggest return.
  • It follows the life of a lead in a way that we are able to see the source of that lead, allowing us determine the most effective channel for campaigns of a specific kind
  • You cannot download a customer lead document with precise lead source. You must manually check a life of each lead to identify their correct source.
It is useful if you have more than one channel on your marketing campaign. And not really necessary if all conversions are organic/direct.

SharpSpring was very easy to learn for first time marketing automation users like us, mainly because of the interface but also because of the onboarding program they provided. It is much more than just an automated email program, the power of the program really lies in all the intel it is collecting and the processes that you can build around that.

  • The wording when building lists and setting conditions / filters seems unnecessarily complicated
Seems great all around, the only scenario where I see it could become an issue is when trying to merge it with an existing CRM, which you will eventually want to do in order to automatically check if incoming leads are existing customers. There seems to be some overlap between CRMs with marketing functionality and marketing automation platforms with CRM functionality and neither of them seem to be doing both things well - it's one or the other.

This software is amazing for us and our clients helping them distinguish their consumers and how to capture more of them. The customer support is also unreal. They help with any concerns at amazingly considerable times. Always giving us what we need and more when we stumble across an issue. The effectiveness of SharpSpring is also amazing with the abilities it has to interact with clients/prospects.
  • SharpSpring gives the ability to nurture prospects all the way to them being a client and tracking everything your agency has started and completed with them.
  • The marketing aspects of SharpSpring are truly amazing to be able to build landing pages, effective funnels, email campaigns, with all of those being able to be tracked from start to finish in order to see what is helping your agency and what is not.
  • Customer support always helps very quickly with any troubles we stumble upon clearing up any confusion we had and always following up with emails that go even deeper than what we asked for with tons and tons of information towards that subject.

SharpSpring is used by our full organisation as a CRM, but most actively used by our Sales and Marketing departments. For marketing we use it to store customer data and to use the data in personalized communications. Within sales it helps us to identify opportunities and to support the rest of the sales process, from acquisition to closing deals. We have forms, workflows, action groups and lead scoring put in place, all focused on lead generation.

We have positive experiences with SharpSpring, but this is dedicated to the amount of effort that went into the infrastructure that we built with lead scoring, forms, content in the form of lead magnets etc. Companies that are looking to invest in SharpSpring should pay special attention to the implementation process, since this determines the overall success hugely.

We also use the CRM to generate lead scores for each of our prospects and use their campaign management to understand the effectiveness of our marketing efforts. The tool is used by each member of our team.

SharpSpring has decent integrations with Salesforce but does struggle with pulling complex data from Salesforce. Tying into a CRM really needs a technology partner to assist with the integration.

We use SharpSpring to keep track of our company as well as our clients. We create forms in which we use on our client's websites that connect to SharpSpring so we can easily keep track of leads. This saves much time because we are able to set visual workflows that can send custom emails for our company as well as our clients so we do not have to spend a large amount of time individually creating emails for each client. SharpSpring allows us to track the life of our leads and create custom fields. We're still new to using SharpSpring, however, it has been very helpful so far. SharpSpring provides a very helpful "virtual classroom" which is very helpful in learning how to use SharpSpring and provides very detailed steps at how to do just about anything within it.
  • SharpSpring is very user-friendly once going through the modules in the virtual classroom. Any information that you may need to build upon in the workflow can be found on their help pages, that provide both step by step lists with how to do things as well as a video that shows an example of what you are reading. SharpSpring also allows for live classroom sessions throughout the week that allow you to ask questions about anything else you may be wondering.
  • SharpSpring provides amazing customer service that always responds within 30 minutes of sending an email. Typically I would expect to hear back from customer service on a site in 24 hours, however, I have never waited longer than about 25 minutes, with the shortest time hearing back being about 3 minutes.
  • SharpSpring provides a company utilization score which is very helpful to see what areas of the site you are exceeding in as well as where you may need to put in a little more work. It rates these in areas such as landing pages, lead scoring, emails, personas, automation, analytics, sales, media center, forms, visitor ID, and agency. This ensures that you can easily see and focus on everything SharpSpring has to offer to get the most out of the money you are paying.
  • When creating emails in SharpSpring, it is difficult to size your images how you want. You must type in a numerical size then enter in order to change the size which can be both tedious and a bit difficult. A much easier way to do this would be to provide arrows in the corner of the picture that allows you to resize it exactly how you would like instead of doing a trial and error of entering numbers to size your photo which ends up taking much more time.
  • Another area SharpSpring may have room for improvement is also dealing with email images. SharpSpring doesn't allow you to manually move your images around exactly where in the email templet that you want them. If it does, I just have not found exactly how to yet after spending a great amount of time doing so, so if this is a function SharpSpring allows, it does not provide good instructions on how to do so.
  • When giving someone a marketing or sales manager user account, it would be nice if they were allowed to unsubscribe contacts from emails on their own. This was a problem I ran into for one of our clients who we made a marketing manager user role for. We did not want to give full access to all features on SharpSpring but wanted to give her some more flexibility. SharpSpring should consider allowing administrators to create custom roles for users that allows the admins to select exactly what they want and don't want their other users to be able to do.
For us, SharpSpring is very useful because the company I work for needs to keep up with our pages, as well as automation and pages for our clients. SharpSpring makes it easy to keep track and do all of these things without it taking an immense amount of time. With SharpSpring, doing things that would often take an entire day or days to do, is now no issue at all because it is automatically done. Because of SharpSpring, we are able to take on many more clients than we would without it. Using SharpSpring has many benefits that allow us to look in and see where clients, as well as ourselves, are excelling but also areas we may need to work on a little bit more. I can't think of too many scenarios where SharpSpring is less appropriate other than if you do not have many clients or many emails and leads to follow. If this is the case, you may not need SharpSpring, but if you have many clients or customers, SharpSpring will be very helpful in taking off some of your workload.

SharpSpring is used across our whole organization as a CRM and marketing tool to centralize information and communication with both prospects and active customers, nurture prospects, track sales activities and gain insights into prospects' behavior on our site. SharpSpring has a wealth of built-in features that allow for a multitude of tasks to be incorporated into one platform - everything from Social listening to email nurturing to booking sales meetings.
  • Robust CRM with custom fields, lead scoring and activity tracking. The life of the lead visually shows all the interactions a prospect/contact has had with anyone in the organization.
  • Workflows allow for automation of many repetitive tasks, including sending drip campaigns. A great asset in the email creation is being able to set an email to only go once to any lead/contact which eliminates the risk of multiple receipts of the same email.
  • Using the mail sync feature, all users have synced their inboxes. This adds all communication to the lead and opportunity (if applicable) to centralize it in one place. When another person has to jump in and help, they know what has happened with the contact and where the communication was left off.
  • The drag and drop editor for landing pages has limitations in structure and layout. Basic designs are easy to accomplish but creative and unique layouts require custom coding.
  • There is only limited sorting ability in the contact manager which doesn't always align with the use case.
  • The columns in the list views are not changeable which means that there isn't a way to get a custom snapshot of data for a group.
SharpSpring is well suited for the SMB looking for an affordable, all-inclusive CRM and marketing platform. It has the functionality required to create campaigns, store contact information and nurture prospects from lead to customer. With unlimited users on all packages, all team members are able to use the system to access information. It is less suited for enterprise-level companies due to the limited access roles. Most users will need to have the highest levels of access if they are going to perform marketing tasks but this is a security risk as this exposes the company to data loss as employees can download the entire database.

We are a reseller of SharpSpring and use it for marketing our own company as well. For our clients, it is a valuable tool to gain insight into who is visiting their websites, allows them to trigger emails tailored to the needs of their leads, and to communicate on a regular basis with existing customers.
  • Automating responses and workflows to nurture leads in the sales funnel.
  • Track engagement and automatically assign lead scores.
  • Email creation tool needs work -- needs to enable embedding of videos (like Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor, etc.). Rendering across email clients is still an issue. Reporting analytics could be more in-depth.
If you want nothing more than an email tool, SharpSpring is not for you. It shines in its totality as a marketing automation platform, lead scoring, and workflow definition. Workflows are easy to set up, lead scoring rules are easy to set. Metrics on website visitors and engagement are easy to view and track.

We utilize SharpSpring as a Marketing/CRM Platform for our Sales and Marketing teams. It incorporates a CRM (which one of our clients was lacking), a visible pipeline and all of our marketing efforts into one platform. This allows us to track what the sales teams are doing, the contact they are having with Prospect/Customers and it allows us to track the Marketing efforts, allowing us to identify where we should be spending money on advertising. By integrating this to our client's websites we are able to keep our fingers on the pulse and identify where the traffic is coming from and the types of leads that are being generated.
  • Visitor ID - SharpSpring tells us WHO and WHEN someone was on our site.
  • Ease of use and integration - SharpSpring is easy to use and impossible to not!
  • Analytics - SharpSpring allows us to look into our web and email insights. Now we know what is working and what isn't.
  • New feature awareness - Sometimes we don't always know what was done, or why it was done. Identifying the changes can sometimes be frustrating.
SharpSpring is very easy to use, and if you don't know how to do something they have top-notch support, a great help section, and awesome tutorial videos. The CRM is also very helpful for tracking all of the opportunities and origins of those opportunities - It allows us to know where our traffic is coming from and invents in advertising that is working
Not many negatives with this product, we are now able to track where our traffic is coming from. This allows us to invest in advertising that is actually working. We are also able to build visual pipelines with our sales team, making it easier to track what they have out there. I love how the site tells you who was there and gives you the "life of lead" so you know exactly what contact has been made.

SharpSpring is used by everyone within our organization. We use it to create student accounts to document their contact with school members, enrollment and marketing, as well as recruiting. It allows us to send email blasts, document their enrollment and completion, and it allows us to be paperless by uploading all school documents electronically.

We score new leads upon capture and assign them to Career Advisors and SharpSpring allows them to maintain contact with student. The fact that there is an app for SharpSpring makes it extremely helpful since I travel a lot and use my phone for business.

SharpSpring is great for a small team who is just beginning to implement email marketing. The cost is great and the tool does not require a ton of upfront set up. Sharpspring is not ideal for an enterprise or an ABM strategy.

SharpSpring is being used for its marketing automation tools, such as forms, lead capture, drip campaigns and email blasts.
  • Awesome customer support.
  • Workflows for marketing automations are pretty detailed and customizable.
  • The user interface and navigation is intuitive and looks good.
  • The email and landing page builders are a bit finicky.
  • The Outlook sync doesn't tell you when someone reads, forwards, opens, clicks, etc like HubSpot does.
  • Opportunity updates don't appear in the activity feed, so it's mostly just a list of emails being sent and received.
I really like SharpSpring for its marketing automation tools, and have implemented it at two companies. Neither have used it much for a CRM platform, though I find the CRM in SharpSpring to be much more intuitive than others. I can see how helpful it would be for high quantities of incoming leads and sales opportunities. The drip campaigns you can set up would also be beneficial for large companies with high engagement.

SharpSpring is being used by our entire (but small) organization. It helps us nurture leads we otherwise might not even be aware of. It gives us valuable information as far as from email to tracking to lead generation to social. All the aspects of the program talk to each other, too, so "integration" is seamless.

We are using SharpSpring for many things including lead nurturing, tracking, and as a CRM. The lead nurturing has been major because it has saved our sales team time and effort. It has also been great for tracking campaigns.
  • Lead Scoring - this helps us tell which leads are more qualified or urgent than others
  • Work flows and action groups - help us mostly with lead nurturing. By creating workflows and action groups, we are able to send and respond to people who want to hear from us in real time, automatically.
  • Forms - we use SharSpring's forms because it is a great trigger for our work flows.
  • Some of the features are challenging to use, even with the training
Lead nurturing has been the most helpful for our sales team, but it is also great with tracking qualified leads, and anyone else who visits our site or a particular landing page.

We are an agency that works with technology providers/suppliers. We provide customized sales and marketing programs and we work as a Sharpspring agency, signing up clients to be SharpSpring users. We provide them with outsourced support, creating marketing programs scaled to their needs and guiding them through sales cycles.
  • Clear reporting - It is easy to pull up marketing reports, save snapshot views of activities and built-in imaging of associated forms or documents associated with activity.
  • Life of the Lead timeline provides one easy view of all ongoing activity for any contact. It is also useful that each action on the timeline allows you to see the documentation it has referenced.
  • Opportunities tracking with drag and drop feature simplifies updating contact status
  • Form reports - It would be helpful to have a form reporting interface available under the analytics feature. While form activity can be seen through the content section, having better visibility via an overview and analysis function, would be better.
  • Additional in-app hints for assigned values would be beneficial.
  • Ease of access to library search tool - I would like to have the tool visible on the dashboard rather than having to enter the portal. It would also be beneficial if it can open as a separate window rather than losing existing page.
SharpSpring is best suited for smaller companies that need an efficient automated marketing tool. Its ability to do fairly easy email drips is great. I think a little practice is required with the workflow tool, but the great part of it is you can test it before going live so you don't have to worry about mistakenly sending out emails to actual contacts.

We use SharpSpring for our company's lead generation efforts and CRM. Our CRM is now organized in a way that matches how we work and we are getting new leads in a systematic way and then categorizing them and evaluating them for level of interest. The landing pages are SSL secure so we feel confident using them for lead magnets to gather new prospects.
  • Excellent training and support plus a ton of specific tutorials and videos we can access at any time.
  • Simple process to create (and save for reuse) landing pages.
  • The CRM is simple but very flexible - we can tag clients and prospects in just about any way we need.
  • Would like to see more live webinars showing case studies of companies and how they use the platform effectively.
  • More email templates.
  • More pre-made landing page templates.
Well suited: SMBs that have a good base of authentic contacts and are looking to add, organize and prospect for more.

Less well suited: small businesses with very low marketing budget or no desire to put the resources against building this tool properly. It takes either effort or a budget or both to get the most out of marketing automation. New companies may not be ready for this yet.
