We use Teamcenter to manage entire lificycle of our product, from CAD to BOM
  • Lot of integration available
  • High level of customization
  • Good support
  • AWC should be more user configurable
  • Preference should be more clear to use and user friendly
  • Error message shold be more clean for the user
The level of customization it's so high and also the funcionalitys are many.
In some case the speed and the usability is not simple
  • Teamcenter with his BOM struvture gives us possibility to control entire product structures
  • Thanks to high level of comatibility we can manage 3D from various format
  • JT integration allow manufacturing users to visualize directly 3D Model and BOM structures
We are using Teamcenter from long long time, and se have indtroduced a lot of customization to perform some internal procedure, this means that we had an initial implementation of 8 months, but today we still implementing (or semplifyng in case of new OOTB funcion are available) some funcionality
Is it possibile to fit the requirements based on comapany size but, with few action, is it possible to exand the infrustructures, only things is that the expandying action is not immediate.
More flexible and better NX integration

We are utilizing Teamcenter for our Product Lifecycle Management needs. It is also allowing us to restructure our parts management, BOI, BOM, and BOP to stand up SAP. We are also exploring the functionality of digital documents when creating digital specifications for raw materials. It has an ease of use as well as a robust access management characteristics.

  • Access Management
  • Document Management
  • User Interface
  • Object Classification
  • Object Hierarchy
Teamcenter is a robust solution for our material science firm's product lifecycle management. Its extensive features streamline workflows, enhance collaboration, and ensure data integrity. However, optimizing its interface for easier navigation and implementing more intuitive tools tailored specifically for material science processes would significantly elevate its usability and efficiency for our industry.
  • Faster time-to-market
  • Holistic Risk Management
  • Material-Based Systems Engineering
Our transition to Teamcenter took approximately eight months for full integration. Initially, basic functionalities were operational within three months, but customization for our material science needs extended the timeline. Tangible results emerged after six months, notably streamlined collaboration and improved data accessibility. By the eighth month, efficiency gains were prominent across our product lifecycle management processes.
Teamcenter exhibits commendable scalability, meriting an 8 out of 10. Its architecture accommodates our expanding material science firm seamlessly. With modular expansions and flexible configurations, it adapts well to increased data volumes and user growth. However, while robust, occasional complexities arise during extensive scaling, hindering a perfect score but substantiating a high ranking for its scalability.
Oracle PLM offers a comprehensive platform for product lifecycle management. Its strengths lie in integration with other Oracle solutions, providing a unified ecosystem. However, compared to competitors, its learning curve can be steep, impacting initial adoption. Yet, once mastered, its robustness in handling complex workflows and extensive data makes it a compelling choice for enterprises seeking seamless integration within the Oracle suite.

We have a large portfolio of agriculture products and managing its engineering data was difficult. That's when Teamcenter was introduced and observed many of our problems. It has solutions like drawing release, manufacturing BOM release, ECN management, testing reporting, and many more. In my case, we use PLM for NPD (new product development) from scratch to proto development. We go through the workflow process and involve CFT members in the concurrent mfg process.
  • For each part, JT is there for the non-design people, who can see how the actual part looks and measure some limited dimensions that are needed at the mfg level.
  • In our scenario, we use Creo as 3D modeling and Teamcenter as our PLM, through which integration tasks were handled very well.
  • My most favorite thing is it's user-friendly and customizable.
  • In Assembly, JT is not directly viewable. There is some alternate method available, but it’s hard to use.
For design data management and processes, like workflows, ECR-ECN parts revision is most likely well-suited with Teamcenter. Also, you can add a library as a classification for standard parts like bearings, nut bolts, pins, washers, etc.
  • For resolving field issues, it was difficult to get CFT in one platform. At that point, Teamcenter helps with managing ECR-ECN to include all CFT in one platform.
I'm not aware of the timeline, but I think it was 1-1.5 years after we started migrating old data and using PLM for the new part process of generating new codes and applying workflow review, etc. For 2 years, I have had no issues as we integrated with Creo and now it runs simultaneously.
Teamcenter has all the solutions regarding engineering, manufacturing, and integration with SAP. There is no chance of giving a lesser rating.
Teamcenter is user-friendly, easily customizable, provides all information on one platform, and is light to use with any system.

The Engineering Manager wanted to use the software to during our transition from 2D to 3D design. It would primarily be used in our department only at first, and by other departments later. It was very mature software, but at the time we wanted to install locally and what I was given was under powered, so I spent too much time arguing with the IT dept over getting more hardware. It solved all of our design problems in that it tracked EVERYTHING. The biggest problem was that it required a change in discipline by all our designers to track everything instead of using AutoCAD alone. Siemens PLM was great in that respect...
  • Tracks design data very thoroughly.
  • Making 3D models of our designs was a daunting change, but worthwhile.
  • The PLM tracking of old data was excellent.
  • The tracking of existing designs in template format was excellent.
  • Nothing
The biggest determination is the size and complexity of the typical 3D model. Does it require NX, or is Solid Edge good enough?
  • I left just as the implementation was getting really expanded, so I don't know firsthand. But, if it was accepted, it wasn't because of the software. The software turned out to be much better than expected.
Inventor wasn't mature enough. Solidworks was too small. Catia and Enovia was too confusing.
It can be configured any way you like.
GTAC services were excellent!
Yes
Many times over.
Once in a meeting, a manager responded with a negative comment about both support and social media... so during the meeting I texted to Twitter something like "@#!$ GTAC". When I got to my desk there were two voicemails waiting for me, one from the head of GTAC, and one from our support person at GTAC.
It depends on how easy the sysadmin has when customizing it. it can be as easy to use as you want.
It's a very robust and mature tool. The only thing that would make it better is the have a version embrace the cloud, which I'm sure is underway, but it's complicated, so it will take more time. But when it's done, look out. It will be near-perfect!
