We were able to very quickly integrate Sigma Computing with Snowflake, making all of our consolidated data available. This made our data available to act on almost immediately.

Very good to be able to connect it to a large volume of data and visualize it. We were able to consolidate data from multiple data silos using Sigma. This significantly eased the reporting / SQL needs. Otherwise, we'd have to query each silo separately and combine the data, which would've been too time-consuming.

We have data spanning back to 2017 and there are many times that sigma freezes / takes a really long time to load the data - especially when we're adding filters into the mix. Overall I'd day Sigma is still faster than Google Analytics but I do think the speed could be improved.

Paired with Snowflake, Sigma allows us to pipe a huge amount of data to our clients via reports or dashboards. This has allowed clients to find substantial cost savings by being able to do mass data analysis. Our ability to facilitate these savings has made us stickier with our customers and increased the value of our company to our ecosystem.

We connect Sigma to Google BigQuery. This makes the data access rapid and we can do all the aggregation in big query and save the results as views in data warehouse. This definitely speeds the data process and we are able to process very large (TB) volumes of data in cloud and created dashboards from those data in Sigma.

Our GNPD system is painfully slow, this made it possible to slice and dice data without watching a spinning wheel for hours. Looking at the dashboard and filtering the options takes very little time and is very easy to use and adjust. This has made our consulting projects take less time, and in turn, increase our project margins.

For our organization, Sigma sits on top of Snowflake. Sigma is designed to enable fast connection to Snowflake and allows me to refresh the data whenever I need to. Typically refreshing data and reports do not take very long, but I have noticed that since we have started working from home, the data refresh can be slower.

Use of terminal commands and SQL knowledge was previously a barrier of entry to our company's data. Outside of our dedicated data team(s), significant amounts of data required a ticket to be filed, completed and delivered to the intended audience which then needed to weed through the information. Now, Sigma can perform the same queries extremely quickly. In ≈1 year of use, I've only seen it timeout 2-3 times across the entire organization.

Probably the best thing about Sigma, from my perspective, is that all I have to do is grant permission on a data source (schema or table). If I grant a team access to a schema, they can go ahead and launch a worksheet from any table in the schema without any further intervention from the Data Team. They can join any tables in the data warehouse, on their own, through a simple interface; we typically have to teach a new user how to do this only once and they are good to go. This has been a game-changer for us; the Data Team is no longer spending half its time on simple data pulls, and business users throughout the company are no longer blocked from data access by having to go through the Data Team to get it. This is what real democratization of data looks like, and it has had a very positive impact on the company. The data team can spend its time focusing on building out better data sources, and building useful products on top of them, instead of spending its time retrieving data. Users can get what they need when they need instead of having to wait until we have time to pull it for them.

I feel like I'm beating the same drum here, but Sigma's access to all of our data is incredible and I cannot recommend it enough. The usability for non- and less-technical people to build their own sheets is awesome, allowing us to better understand our customers and our business without bogging down a team of data scientists with every random ad hoc query and a bunch of process. Having used a number of other BI tools, Sigma is by far my favorite.

Sigma makes it easy to work with massive amounts of data from different sources, which has been really useful for our product team to quickly put together different views and analyses.

We store our reporting data in Snowflake, and few non-technical people can use the console and SQL to query that data (and then export/manipulate). Sigma has allowed non-technical users to use volumes of data that were impractical in Excel.
