Sisense is used in our organisation to perform the following tasks:
- Bring together data from multiple data sources (mysql databases, google spreadsheets, google analytics, web analytics tools) to form a single source of truth.
- Dashboarding - various sales/metric dashboards are displayed around the office on large plasma screens. Individual users also have access to the dashboards.
- Adhoc reporting - we also use Sisense to perform adhoc reporting and do data extractions across different sources

The product is used across multiple departments from the CEO's office, through to marketing and accounting.
The product has a long way to establish a single source of truth for our sales data, but to also allow for the quick and timely extraction and presentation of data in dashboards which was previously done in a very laborious way.

Pros
  • Easy to generate dashboards
  • Easy to link up your different data sources (drag and drop)
  • Pleasing UI
  • Professional and responsive customer support
  • Smooth integration (hosted solution was seamless)
  • Cost effective
Cons
  • Would like to see conditional alert feature - ie if a value
  • Manual builds of the Elasticube (back end) can sometimes take a long time, for unknown reasons
  • Better mobile integration/UX
  • Can't print to PDF (yet)

We are a small-medium ecommerce business with a LAMP stack. If you were an ecommerce bohemoth you may wish to test your data for speed. SiSense does allow a trial period so you are able to do this.

Sisense was being used by certain departments of our organization. Our organization is so huge that it could not be used in the entire organization as different departments have different requirements and have their own requirements. Sisense helped in creating the ultimate dashboards, GAP analysis, creating trends and understanding where we are heading. We could co-relate data from different sources and use it to draw conclusions. Also reporting was a breeze with this dashboard for all the different tools and databases that we had. We could use these for analytics of data from different software. This helped management see a single view and still drill down to the core.
Pros
  • Great analytics and mashing up of data from different data sources.
  • Easy deployment, creation of dashboards and sending reports across management and teams in the organization.
  • Great support, GUI, flexibility, low hardware cost and handles huge data with a breeze.
Cons
  • Mobile support could be improved. Navigations and filtering require improvement.
  • Integration with some QA tools like Rally and HP QC would be a huge plus. These tools don't have a reporting structure. This feature is a major miss for our department as we cannot get real-time reports.
  • There could be simpler ways for admin to share dashboard results.
Likelihood to Recommend
Sisense is very well suited when data needs to be integrated with different data sources and produce results out of it. It provides top-notch dashboards and visualizations. It is also very easy to share these results across teams and organizations. It is only less appropriate in a very few scenarios which could also be improved. One of them is for mobile support. It can be slightly improved. The other one is for the admin to send results, which could be simplified. The other place for improvement is to make the plugins slightly easier.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use Sisense across our Business Finance models in the Financial and Accounting departments. We use it to develop and redesign the information stored in our Project Management Software and our ERP systems for the Construction and Real State Field. It gives us the perspective to consolidate everything in a single, easy to manage tool. Sisense reduces the time it takes to obtain complex reports from many different data sources, and controls a variety of formats in one single tool that enhances our BI platform and our internal and external resources delivered to our end clients.
Pros
  • Sisense is easy to set up and connect to a wide variety of formats and platforms.
  • Sisense reduces the time it takes to obtain an optimal ROI.
  • Sisense really delivers the instant analysis required to merge financial numbers and statistics with a pretty accurate dashboard landscape.
Cons
  • Sisense could work on their management strategy for dashboards that are created by multiple users, reducing the complexity and improving their management options and security premises.
  • The navigation and filtering options could be useful in the mobile version, but Sisense needs to work on the layouts to improve the UX.
  • Sisense is a heavy app so be careful if you deploy this powerful tool in a resource that is under its system requirements--it can drive you crazy waiting for optimal performance.

Sisense is the best choice if your company is seeking a reliable, powerful and very accurate tool that can connect to a wide variety of standard and unconventional databases or data sources. With the proper assessment before its deployment, you can make it a win-win solution to deliver amazing dashboards and business reports that can consolidate different data sources, becoming a useful resource for both your business and your customers. If your company runs data analyses from multiple sources in the under 40 million rows or lower range, Sisense may be out of your league as a data analysis software.

We're using Sisense as our centralized source for reporting across the organization. It's being used across all departments and is offered worldwide to employees across 40 locations.

Our main reason for searching for a BI tool was having one centralized source of reports across the organization. Some of the others benefits were:

  • Drill deeper into the data. We have a lot of reports that present KPI's at a high level and we needed to provide management the ability to drill deeper into numbers to understand the underlying details behind each one.
  • Create reports quickly on the fly.
  • Aggregate multiple data sources into one report/dashboard.
Pros
  • We really like the interface, the flexibility, ease of use in creating reports and dashboards and most of all the ability to drill down deeper into the data.
  • The sales process was also very smooth and transparent. Dealing with the people at Sisense was very easy and a great experience overall.
  • After we signed the contract and during the implementation Sisnse offered a lot of support and made sure we're getting value from their tool. We were up and running in a very short time frame.
Cons
  • We currently didn't run across any issues.The graphic aspect can be slightly improved but does the job for us now as well.
Likelihood to Recommend
I would recommend this tool for companies that are looking to surface data from multiple data sources to stakeholders at different levels. We looked at a number of other options and Sisense made the most sense from a features, implementation and price stand point.

Sisense can be used by every department in the organization. It will help each teams to understand, explore and leverage their data for any of their business decisions.
Pros
  • Sisense is amazing when it comes to ingest and mix all your data sources with no advanced IT skills.
  • Sisense is the most efficient tools for data modelling. You build a data set in a snap, ready to be used for your dashboards.
  • Sisense allows anyone to build their own dashboard. The interface is "uber" intuitive, and "uber" efficient : no need to declare filters, data hierarchy or anything. Once your data are loaded, just build dashboards. Once they access a dashboard, users can fully exploit it and interact with the data : drill anywhere, explore the filters, add filters by interacting with the data visualization.
Cons
  • The platform do not natively support data set allowing the users to see the table name and field name in multiple language ; but there is an easy to use external plugin
  • It is not possible for a "reader" to create on the fly custom data group
Likelihood to Recommend
Sisense is extremely powerful for easily connect to data, mash them up and let non-technical users build the dashboard they need. The interface is very intuitive, both for data modelling and dashboarding. The solution is full web from end to end, and can run on premise, in private cloud or in public cloud. It is also extremely easy to manage the server. Even though the upfront investment is not nothing, the global TCO is extremely low as the product does not require specific technical skills. Plus Sisense provides a lots of documentation and self-service trainings.
