Skilljar - Transforming Customer Education for Success
- One of the things that struck us immediately was how intuitive the platform is for both creators and learners. The interface is clean, easy to navigate, and doesn't overwhelm users. This simplicity has been key in ensuring that our customers have a seamless learning journey without getting lost in a labyrinth of menus and options.
- Skilljar's analytics dashboard is a goldmine. It provides comprehensive insights into learner behavior, course effectiveness, and engagement metrics. Being able to track progress, identify popular courses, and pinpoint areas needing improvement has been invaluable for fine-tuning our training programs.
- This platform plays well with others! The seamless integration with our CRM and other tools has been a huge plus. It allows us to maintain a cohesive ecosystem and ensures that our training efforts align seamlessly with our broader customer success strategy.
- Skilljar makes it a breeze to create engaging and interactive content. From videos and quizzes to downloadable resources, the platform offers diverse options. The ability to customize content based on different customer segments or learning styles has been incredibly valuable for us. It's like having a toolkit that allows us to craft tailored learning experiences without the need for coding expertise.
- While the platform is mobile-responsive, optimizing the mobile experience further could enhance accessibility and convenience for learners accessing courses on various devices. This could involve refining the interface to ensure a seamless and consistent experience across different screen sizes.
- Although the platform supports some collaboration features, expanding on this aspect would be valuable. For instance, incorporating discussion forums or live chat functionalities within courses could foster a sense of community among learners and encourage peer-to-peer learning.

An easy choice for an excellent LMS.
Before adopting Skilljar, we relied on weekly webinar training sessions, which, while effective, had limitations. The webinars were not always accessible to customers at their preferred time, and the content was sometimes mismatched where customers were within the onboarding/adoption lifecycle with us.
Skilljar has been essential in overcoming these challenges; it's easy to use, and the support I've received is unparalleled. We average over 1K students monthly and have received fabulous feedback on our content and Skilljar itself. Since launching, I've consulted several customers wanting to start their own LMS, having been inspired by our own Skilljar academy.
- Self Service and Self Paced user experience
- Alleviated team bandwidth and improved the scalability of learning content.
- Easy platform customization without needing coding SME
- Accessibility features - it would be awesome to have a closed captions tool for video lessons for those who do not have software that does that.
- Custom Dashboards in Analytics
- Additional Event extraction options
Customization and Out of the Box: Skilljar has a great out-of-the-box theme that's easily customizable for customers who may not know coding or HTML. You can also fully customize your LMS site via CSS or Skilljars pro services.
If you are looking to create a complex LMS reflective of LinkedIn Learning, may not meet your expectations. However, platforms at that level come with a cost. Skilljar is more cost-effective for those starting their LMS journey, and you'd be surprised how far you can go and scale your platform.

- The support team is exceptional--we've had some truly outstanding CSMs
- Flexibility--Skilljar makes it super easy to restructure the site, modify existing content, etc.
- We've had one particular outstanding ticket for quite some time now
- There are some features that require custom code--it would be nice if this was a built-in functionality

Skilljar Review - to buy or not to buy?
- Email communications after course completion
- Creating course shells rapidly and duplication
- User management
- Course surveys and feedback collection is an area of opportunity
- Inability to send communications post completion of learning paths
- Inability to manage user interface of the LMS
Simple, user friendly and very powerful platform

- group management
- It support external and internal employee training

Does the job, and growing!
- Hosting content
- Customization of the Interface
- Quiz / testing options. Question types are limited and it'd be nice to be able to customize the interface for the company "look"
- API expansion will be nice. For instance, creating new ILT events is not currently possible via API. They're expanding API though so I have hopes.
- Paywall management. We had to work around this with 2 domains to avoid a lot of custom coding.
Skilljar customer education software is well suited
- Training
- Education
- Knowledge
- Na
- User friendly dashboard
- More pictorial
- Great Assistance
- Simple to use and edit for the entire team
- There are many different kinds of content to pick from to make learning truly well-rounded.
- More freedom in how courses display compared to catalog pages. Although it's not ideal, we kind of "hack" the system to make it appear to learners
- Lessons cannot be copied into multiple courses in bulk because there are no bulk actions.
Great tool for you scaleable team!
- Ease of Use
- Integrations with third party tools
- Scalable
- Analytics
- Unified dashboard experience
- Less reliance on HTML and CSS
Great LMS for customer education
- The UI is very sleek and easy to navigate from the learner's perspective.
- Great implementation and customer support.
- Helpful out of the box integrations.
- Great community.
- No preview or testing capabilities-- getting around this requires a ton of unnecessary duplicative pages and courses.
- No bulk actions, so copying lessons into multiple courses is extremely tedious.
- Learning paths are missing a lot of functionality that standalone courses have.
- Doesn't integrate well with Rise360 and other authoring tools.
Skilljar Review - Customer Education Leader on a SaaS Marketing Team
- The folks at Skilljar are all pretty great, our values closely align.
- The annual conference is spectacular and probably (definitely?) the best Customer Education conference available.
- It would be great to drag and drop lessons from one course to the next. There's some work to be done with content authoring.
- Our education is free, and often customers will ask if we can provide SCORM packages for our courses. Skilljar doesn't provide this functionality. :(
The Skilljar Advantage: People, Technology & Process
- Skilljar provides a hassle-free implementation that won't take a year and a half
- Every Skilljar employee - from their co-founder, Staci, to the account executive supporting your business - possesses a true passion for customer education.
- Their platform provides me with all the functionality and features I need, and none that I don't.
- More robust custom report building capability
- Enhance the WYSIWYG editor for category pages
- Make it easier to create quizzes and surveys
Great vendor, even better partner
- Customer Success
- Support
- Implementation
- Listening to feedback
- Stronger partnership with the verniers they work with so integrations can be more robust
- Building out new functionality wuciker
A great fit for our small team
- Low-code, user-friendly interface
- Very responsive and informed client support throughout implementation and beyond
- Great analytics insights into user behavior
- I'd love to see more ways to increase lesson interactivity, without requiring advanced knowledge of instructional design authoring tools
Create Champions
- Great implementation team
- Amazing product training
- Easy course management
- Customization
- Quizzes could improve
- Easier ways to navigate back to the home page
Skilljar: Worth It But Sometimes Limited
- Easy content uploading
- Easy interface
- Fantastic support and customer success team
- More file types for course content (like tincan)
- Better user management (subgroups)
Love Skilljar, but not yet sure on ROI
- Connects to most other platforms that your company uses like Zoom or Salesforce.
- Provides easy to use features for the customer and the user.
- They constantly improve the product.
- Needs more social learning tools like discussion boards and points or emblems.
- Analytics do show usage in a few different ways but they are clunky reports.
Skilljar, an internal and external LMS
- The ability to store videos and include them as part of training.
- Simple themes help with company branding.
- Learning paths to group courses together.
- It would be nice for a learner to instantly know which courses they are enrolled in.
- Analytics are decent, but I rely on other data management tools to share with others.
- It would be great to be able to include rich media files such as videos inside of text lessons.
Great Implementations Lead to Great Experiences
- Live sessions are easy to manage.
- Student administration.
- Great help pages.
- More analytics without have to purchase data connector.
- More flexibility on page design without heavy code snippets.
Less helpful for internal education where hierarchies are in place.
We are required to report to our customers on the usage of each customer. There is not an easy way to organize these reports.
Sometimes there is confusion in publishing content. It's a lot of boxes to check, then has to be added to pages, etc. Some sort of publishing template might be helpful. I use the same settings for 85% of my content.
