For myself, skype is the preferred tool for sending messages. This program handles both online and offline messages well. I use it to:

  • make audio/video calls
  • send attachments
  • share screens
  • Video conferencing - engage new or prospective/clients employees efficiently
  • Schedule calls
  • Create groups and share your chats
Cons
  • No WhatsApp integration
  • High premium charges
With skype you can efficiently communicate with your team at a minimal cost to the organization. Most features are easy to use. [It] works well with mobile devices.

Skype is a life-saver for small business communications needs!

In our small company, we use Skype primarily for instant messaging functionality and team calls. It's cross-platform availability, including mobile, definitely makes using it a no-brainer. It keeps us from having to maintain our own IM infrastructure.
  • Maintaining and allowing searching of chat history.
  • Group conversations that are persistent and that can be easily extended to those outside of the organization.
  • Audio and video calls are rock solid!
Cons
  • Some areas of the chat interface take up a little too much space.
For the small business, Skype offers great freedom with being able to communicate with your team and others and it is always accessible. Generally, we don't have to worry about using Skype due to how solid it is at providing the communication needs that we require.

A pioneer in video communication software, Skype is a service like no other. It’s a pioneering app that’s made communication accessible to millions of people across the globe. Using it for collaboration with coworkers and family members, meetings, and even hosting webinars is a fantastic idea! Keeping in contact with clients and coworkers throughout the pandemic was easy using Skype. Employees and customers alike took advantage of it. Today, Skype is available on a wide range of devices, such as tablets, smartphones, and desktop PCs. Even though we can share the screen, it may exchange extensive files of up to several GB through Skype conversation.
  • Using our mobile phones, tablets, and desktop PCs to communicate with others is doable, as long as we remember to keep track of our conversations on all of them.
  • Excellent video conference software with a solid backbone and an intuitive user interface. When discussing in-depth problems with customers, this is very beneficial.
  • Slack-like chat that is constantly being updated by Microsoft makes it simple for businesses to stay on top of communication with others.
Cons
  • A sign-in procedure that is more secure, and network delays during video calls degrade the user experience, as well as an even more streamlined user interface, are all goals.
  • Updated feature sets are required to remain competitive. While operating, it may crash, thus this has to be addressed.
  • Skype has a premium calling option and the call prices should go down as a result of the improved integration.
With Skype, it’s a dream come true, particularly if we’re chatting fast or calling abroad. This isn’t the greatest option for sizeable groups with a lot of users. Even if the participants are in separate countries, it may take the place of regular telephone communication. It’s ideal for making international calls. That Skype has no security problems is one thing I enjoy most about it. Other applications have security problems that we read about all the time, yet Skype doesn't have any!

Skype is a primary and needful app for me and our organization. Skype is very good for personal or small group chatting and meeting. It is well distributed and well accepted. Skype is probably the easiest of this type of app to install and get working. We use Skype both for internal communication between employees and for communication with our clients. Currently, Skype works perfectly on any device such as PC, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Notification system of Skype is awesome.
  • You can set your group video call to Dynamic View.
  • During a call, you can send files, share contacts, add callers, and share your screen.
Cons
  • Skype need to improvement in Performance
  • The mobile version does not update conversations immediately So need to work on it.
  • The file size limit on shared files is less.
Well Suited: I can use it for basic communication, audio calls, and video calls. The interface and seamless features are really good which makes a great overall experience. Skype allows for flexibility in being able to do both conversing and video/audio calling in one platform. Less appropriate: They are so many cheaper options available in the market which offers almost the same services. So, basically costing could have been better.

Skype is used by the CRM team which consists of three users. Other users in our marketing department use this as well to bring the total to around 10. Almost all of these members are working remotely so we use Skype daily for 90% of our video conferencing calls. In the CRM department, we use Skype for all video and phone calls. Calling and chatting with this service is the best we have used and we have tried out a number of video conferencing platforms over the years. It is a great product.
  • Video conferencing is the best we have used. It is consistently clear even on connections that are less than ideal.
  • Chatting is easy and the notifications are great. Easy to pick up and use.
  • The mobile app is really well done as well and good when you are not at your computer.
  • Using Skype to make phone calls is something that is not used as much anymore but still a great service.
Cons
  • Integrating with Chrome to make phone calls is not easy in the beginning.
  • The Windows 10 version of Skype can be a little confusing and we found we downgraded to an older version to bring functionality back.
  • The grouping for members was not something that we used and was problematic at first.
Skype is very well suited to teams working remotely. We use this as our primary chat and video conference call service and have not regretted it. It might be less appropriate in a setting where your team is in cubicles. Though even there you can use the chat feature to get a quick question answered with coworkers or to discretely message someone.
