  • Skype made keeping in touch with an advisor in Mexico very easy. The initiative there resulted in 5 new partnerships.
  • Skype has helped me with account management for at least 3 customers in LATAM--usually it's a fast way to answer a question about a support renewal.
  • For about 9 months Skype helped me stay in touch with a colleague in Prague. We would meet once a week to go over sales activities.

  • For the needs of our non-profit Skype hasn't cost us anything and we have no reason to purchase a more complex suite of software for communicating with the dozen people we regularly communicate with.
  • I suppose a more robust solution would have some benefits but would also require more communication and training to get people up to speed with the software. We could use Slack for example for free with a small organization but I think doing so would cost us more time and energy that would benefit us at this point.

  • Overall Skype is a good investment. We use regular Skype so its a product that comes with Windows PC's as a standard app. We dont use Skype for Business so this cuts cost overall.
  • Using the basic functions of Skype and not Skype for business does have some downsides but you do save money. There are many other apps we use as well as Skype in order to accomplish all of our goals.
  • The downside of course is that the more you want Skype to do, the more money it will cost the organization as a whole. It does have many more functions which you have to upgrade to Skype for business for. That is my only criticism.

  • + Provided an option for remote communications — without Skype (or alternative) our weekly church attendance (approx. 200 / wk) would have dropped to 0, without any effective method to communicate with our congregation in a group setting.

  • It really impacts our organization in a positive manner as the use is Free of cost. We are using Free Trial.
  • In our organization Skype is used by all the departments for connecting to our team mates as well as to resolve any query requiring virtual meet.
  • We have approximately more than 500 employees and for a virtual connect we use Skype, as well as for organizing various webinars and wellness sessions. We have enjoyed the quality a lot.

  • Skype is no doubt cheap and will save you a lot of money if you aren't making 100s of calls. If you do they will block you if you are on one of their unlimited plans. Be careful.
  • Because it accepts PayPal it has made it easier for me to purchase minutes and make calls. Most of the VOIP businesses are running away from PayPal as one of the payment options.

  • We've experimented using Skype for customer service but haven't pursued it. Quality of the connection became too big an issue.
  • Holding meetings on Skype saves us time and makes it easier to do collaborations in real time.

  • Positive impact on all features related to Phone interaction.
  • Negative for such a complex login administration, which requires an administrator to do it when using Skype for Business. WhatsApp has a much more relaxed approach for new users and groups.
  • Positive impact on the audio quality makes it easy for non-native language speakers to interact with native speakers, as they can understand the utterance much better than in regular phone lines — a crispy tone of voice.
  • Negative for the lack of robust tools for contact import. Importing Gmail or Yahoo or Facebook or Twitter contacts should be a mandatory feature, as Skype users, especially businesses, would benefit from the instant availability of all disperse contacts.

  • Skype has saved me lots of money regarding international calling.
  • Through the use of features such as the sharing of my desktop, I have achieved greater efficiencies during business communication.
  • A challenge I'm having with Skype which isn't directly related to the app is that not everyone uses it, That forces me to sometimes use other apps to accomplish the same thing I could do with Skype and some of these apps don't work on multiple platforms.
