Our attorneys travel all over NY state, and we have three different offices. Slack allows us to communicate as if we were sitting across from each other and share pertinent information quickly.
  • Internal Communication.
  • Notifications of messaging.
  • Ability to use on multiple platforms.
  • No changes necessary.
I actually was just speaking with a company that uses mass text messages about Slack. I showed them the features, including Zoom, and they loved it. It has helped us become a better team internally.

Slack allows us to communicate with each other internally as an organization. We can also participate in channels and group messages. For example, we just had our biggest conference of the year: RISE WEST. So we created a RISE WEST channel to communicate and plan before, during, and after the event. This was crucial in our efforts to gain new business.
  • It is very fast
  • Very easy to use
  • Has a lot of capabilities
  • The video chat is nice
  • The side panel is tough to navigate sometimes
  • I'd like to be able to send Excel sheets
  • The video chat feature could be a bit quicker
It is perfect for any organization that requires a lot of internal communication. This is especially true for teams working remotely. Our sales, marketing, and client services need to be in constant contact which makes this tool imperative to our success. I feel there would be less of a need for teams/organizations who work in the office and are in communications every day.

1. Office day-to-day communication --> find it more useful and trackable than emails. 2. Work-life balance --> certain features like snooze, setting work hours, updating current status helps ensure that work life balance is maintained. 3. On-boarding of new members --> since all conversations are stored, it makes it easier for new joiners to get context of things that happened in the organization before they joined.
  • Schedule messages --> In order to promote work-life balance, we can schedule messages such that they reach the recipient's inbox during the office hours
  • Entire conversation --> A new joiner to a channel has access to all the previous conversation, making it easy for Knowledge Transfer
  • Snooze notification option --> This is really helpful so that individuals don't get disturbed during the off-time or when they are in meetings/doing some important work
  • Ability to add images/videos in line and not as attachments --> makes it easier to make messages more engaging
  • Slack daily use report --> help users know how much time is spent on slack daily (digital/screen fatigue)
  • New reactions :D
1. Well suited for office communication --> messages, voice call, video calls, screen share with annotate makes it the go-to-office tool.
2. You want to respect employee's personal space --> Office communication should not interfere with personal life. With Slack it's easy to do so as your WhatsApp is free from office communications, task and other things.
3. New joiner onboarding --> new joiners can go through previous communication. Makes it easy for knowledge transfer

We use slack for all internal communication between departments and within departments. It allows us to have all our documented conversations in one place, and quickly get/respond to messages. We plan to continue to use Slack as we grow our company to over 50 employees, and even more than that in the future.
  • organization of conversations
  • ability to call people or groups
  • hiding channels
  • having a file saving spot
  • more notification customization
  • showing more DMs
Slack is best suited for more casual work environments. Our team is very collaborative and messages each other constantly, and this allows us to easily and quickly work on projects that require cross departamental communication. It wouldn't be as useful for teams that don't work together a lot, or are in the office constantly.

The company I work for based its entire communication channel on Slack. It simplifies the way we get news from the company.
  • Notification settings, I can set up notifications behavior by device; notifications runs differently on my phone than on my desktop laptop
  • Well organized threads, makes me focus on what really is important and setup the context very well
  • Reactions really simplifies people response
  • Formatting options, I would like I have better access to format my messages
  • Speaker camera would be great, sometimes it is needed so we need to go to meet
When you want to convey a message to the team in a timely manner, then Slack is appropriate. But, when it comes to sensitive information, we still use email.

I've used Slack for more then 3 years and it helped me in organising tasks list, easy communication, seamless video business meetings. It's one of the best Internal chat tool i've used. It's UI is the best in industry and most of the companies uses it.
  • Business meetings, calls without delay and glitch
  • Sharing files, updates smoothly
  • Real-time collaboration
  • Operate faster and seemless
  • Notifications can become overwhelming
  • Context switching occurs easily
  • Messages can become unorganised quickly
It suited in big organisation or when you're handling teams who sits across the world. I feel it's better than Microsoft Team.

We use Slack for everything. As a fully distributed company, we need a great chat tool. We occasionally use other chat tools with some of our customers and they are not nearly as close to Slack. We also use Slack to build a lot of integrations that connect all our systems together.
  • Easy integration builds
  • Simple and dependable chat
  • Increases engagement between team members
  • I would like to see more integrations
  • I would like to make it easier to pull data into Slack
I think Slack works great for people who care about working together—whether it's between co workers in office or remote work. I was nervous to work for a fully distributed company but Slack has made it so helpful to connect with my team and stay connected in meaningful ways everyday.

We use Slack across all departments. It helps to connect multiple remote team members to complete projects, and it also connects remote team members who are looking for that “in-office” feel. I’m addition to using it for our internal team, I will say that in the sales department we use it for client communication too. Adding prospects to private channels allows us to keep conversations going even if our internal champion leaves the company.
  • Easy to use
  • Connects multiple teams
  • Multiple integrations with other software
  • Fun to add GIF’s
  • Adding channels
  • Creating a new logo
  • Better user control settings
The fact that you can split teams up based on projects, you can invite new team members to an ongoing channel, or you can archive old channels all make it an easy 10/10 recommend to anyone. You will never have to worry about anyone missing something because you can highlight it and bring it to the front of the channel.

I mainly use Slack as my note-taking platform. Also, our organization uses Slack as an internal communication platform to share thoughts, files, and updates with specific individuals and/or groups of people. We're a fully remote team with each member at a different location, Slack really helps us to stay connected and updated with daily ongoing activities. This is much better than email as it is easy to read and update a Slack thread about a particular topic and also helps in having responses real quick.
  • Organized way of having conversations and sub conversations through Slack thread
  • helps in setting reminder notifications and multiple communication types: voice/text messages, huddle calls/can set custom calls, huge set of stickers, etc
  • staying connected and updated with the team/org based in different time-zone/location
  • Drafts do not always remain saved when switching between messages.
  • it is hard to get back to a post if you are part of multiple channels
  • I wonder if there is something which notifies me after people reads my messages
Slack is well suited for group messaging and having a shared workspace. It is useful to have a written record of conversations.
The only scenario where it is less suited is I feel when one requires to be notified immediately that his message is read by the other person instead of waiting for that other person's acknowledgement.

My team works mostly remote and we use Slack on a daily basis to communicate with each other and receive notifications for updates and events related to the websites we're developing. It makes it easy to share information, ask a question, or request assistance from each other. Slack has replaced email as our main form of team communication because it can be used real time or asynchronously as needed.
  • Communication with your team or organization
  • APIs for receiving notifications from other apps
  • Central hub for communication, updates, and notifications
  • I honestly can't think of any complaints at the moment
I think Slack would be useful in just about any and every situation where two or more people are working together or need to communicate with each other. It can replace email, chat, and video conferencing.

When I started working at my current job, we would use Slack, but the directors changed it to Teams. Even in my previous job, they did the same thing. We were using the free version in both companies if I am not wrong. Nowadays, I have two workspaces where I discuss programming and IT things. As a developer, in both jobs, we used Slack to communicate with other developers, business analysts and the QA team. Another thing that we used was the integration with GitLab/Jira.
  • Chat
  • Channels
  • Integration with other tools
  • Manage workspace
  • Give control when share screen
Slack is not only useful when you want to communicate with your coworkers but also when you discuss with friends or groups that have something in common. With Slack, you can chat, call, share screens, and send pictures and emojis. It is a completed friendly message program.

We use Slack for collaboration between teams, but especially when part of a team is outside the organization. There are a lot of great chat and collaboration tools out there, but Slack is the easiest when not everyone is internal. The ease of pinning, channels and search all make it perfect for this. It’s also easy to add and eject users from your channel. Bonus: the Slash commands and shortcuts are great to work with.
  • Collaboration.
  • Organization.
  • Shortcuts.
  • Logging into multiple organizational chats at once.
  • Better file repository.
  • Easier archive of chat history.
  • Occasionally being redirected to web for login/preferences is wonky.
It’s hard to get much better that Slack for ease of collaboration, especially if you’re working across organizations. The ease of DMs, setting up channels and some basic animations are hard to beat. That being said, if you only need to interact with internal folks and have Microsoft Teams, Slack becomes unnecessary.

Daily interactive communication. Broadcast messaging.
  • Slack has a mobile version with push notifications.
  • The web-app version is particularly useful when you need your screen and are not at your home desktop.
  • The integrations speed up a lot of processes because you do not need to be constantly redirected.
  • Thread conversations can get lost unless you actively revisit your old threads. You would need a mention to receive all the alerts.
  • Copy and pasting images into a thread does not work with forward bot applications.
  • Bots created by other users can become annoying. You have to wait for the creator to change its functions.
It's suited for almost every kind of interaction, for the workplace and communities. The downside for communities is that certain posts cannot be preserved.

We are a global company with offices in Dublin, London, and San Fransico, as well as staff dotted across the states and Europe. This means its vital we stay in touch with each other. Slack solves this problem, with multiple channels we can really tailor the conversation.
  • Channels
  • Elements of Fun (custom emoji, gifs)
  • Read Receipt
It is great for creating a sense of community among multiple offices. It is easy to stay in touch with different teams. We have multiple slack channels set up for specific projects and teams or just fun channels where people can share pictures of their pets.

Slack is our primary communications hub. It is our all-in-one solution to keep in touch with other team members and coordinate our daily activities. As a fast growing company we need one method to stay aligned on deliverables, and slack is the fastest method to stay connected to each other
  • Huddle feature for quick chats
  • instant messaging between teammates
  • work on projects in a channel
  • slack video is not as good as the huddle feature.
  • when I use screen share it makes the rest of slack go slowly
I think slack is best utilized by small teams because the communication is quick. I can imagine as a company exceeds 500 people that slack may not be the most appropriate way to communicate because important context may get lost in different channels.

Slack has become our dominant communication medium. It has replaced email internally and now use it to talk with customers by inviting them as multi-channel guests. We created channels for our teams like Customer Success and Support to talk with customers more efficiently than over email. Our team also employs contractors, and we've been able to bring them into select channels as guests. We've also used many out-of-the-box integrations supported by Slack and other products in our tech stack to make notifications and alerts more centralized. The product has proven to be a valuable part of our daily operations.
  • Ease of use! Slack takes very little to get up and running. The interface is very intuitive!
  • Collaboration is where Slack shines. It is so versatile in bringing all our teams, customers, contractors and vendors in one place, replacing email.
  • Integrations! Slack integrates very well with many products in your tech stack. There's no custom work required.
  • Missed threads are a common complaint from my team. When viewing messages in the unread or threads, it's easy to get distracted and lose that message. Some of us are subscribed to 100 channels and if you don't remember where a message was, it can be hard to find it again.
  • The search function is not the greatest. It takes some getting used to the filters and options to be able to really narrow down your search.
Our team has been using Slack for 5+ years, and although we've been invited to test drive other products, like MS Teams, Slack remains the top-performing collaboration and messaging platform for our teams. Slack is so easy to use out of the box yet offers many possibilities for customization and integrations; this makes it a powerful tool compared to its competition.

I use slack to communicate with Florida developer communities. It is a great way to get talent and support for technical questions. I also use it to promote our latest innovations and the latest company news.
  • Slack does very well with notifications. You can create reminders for people or an entire channel.
  • Slack lets you add basic text formatting. For example, a tilde around a text will let you add a strike-through.
  • You can start a search from your message box. Type "/s" followed by what you want to find.
  • There's no Boolean search. Say you want to find all messages and use two terms, and you will get any messages that have either term.
  • No way to notify all messages from a particular person.
  • Away messages are basic. Teams are either active or away.
Slack is well suited for teams where you need to make a quick decision. You can use polls to make a quick decision. You can easily jump into a video call and share your screen. You can be reminded of the little things with the slack reminders. You can add a daily stand-up meeting each day.

Our organization uses Slack as an internal communication platform to quickly share ideas, files, and news with specific individuals and/or groups of people. We also use this as a secure link between external organizations when setting up partnerships. This is much better than email when it comes to needing responses in a timely manner.
  • Mobile experience.
  • Group messaging.
  • File sharing.
  • Intuitive out of office settings.
  • Behind the scenes set up.
  • New user onboarding.
Slack is suited for organizations that want to use a communication platform that quickly sends messages to other internal individuals. Without aging myself, it reminds me of the old AOL Instant Messenger but for the 2020s with more features and functionality. It just works. I like that it's easy no matter what learning level.

I use slack mainly for user interaction, to keep in communication with multiple departments for daily operations of different software platforms we use internally. I also mainly use slack as my note-taking platform, as I can create reminders and tickets using this method with Slack and our internal ticketing system.
  • Create Groups for specific users and their roles within Slack.
  • Great for note taking.
  • The mobile app makes it easy to keep in touch on my laptop or while on the go with my phone.
  • A customizable notification center for messages would be a plus.
  • Drafts do not always seem to create/save when switching between messages.
  • Option for just “@mentions” would be nice (not including @here and/or @channel).
Slack is very well suited for internal and external communication with other users/companies implementing slack as their chat platform. I also tend to use slack as a platform for note taking, as it allows me to track and set reminders for notes I take. This makes it particularly well suited for short-term follow-up when you're working with multiple different users.

We use Slack to connect with the clients and get the issues resolved faster than the emails. We use this for quick messages and discussion for updates and issues/problems faced by the team.
  • We can record the audio and presentation
  • We can share files as attachments and see within each message thread
  • It would be great if Slack can accommodate more than 2 people for free video meeting.
  • Need a button above the chat box which will lead to the bottom/most recent chat when we get a ton of messages or when we are at the top and want to see the most recent messages.
  • A WhatsApp feature which gives us an option to see who all have seen the sent messages in group/channel would be amazing
Slack helps communication fast, easy and secure. We could organize a quick connect and make everyone clear about the new updates and changes we should follow.

We are a remote company that uses Slack daily for internal communications and building our company culture. Without slack, we would miss out on the opportunity to discuss work, expand our professional knowledge, and build our community. Although we use it primarily to communicate within our own team, we also have dedicated slack channels to connect with each of our clients.
  • Slack is great for organizing conversations via channels.
  • Slack helps us stay connected to each other and our clients.
  • Slack has many integrations to enhance the overall experience and make transitioning between various apps seamless.
  • It would be nice if slack's HubSpot integration worked in private channels as well as public channels so our internal communications could be logged automatically in HubSpot (we currently have to copy/paste relevant info).
I honestly believe Slack fits all business types and models. We have been using their free option, and although our history is limited, we could get on a paid plan if we needed to see farther back. I know there is an improvement coming soon to this. Although I use Slack daily for my main job, I'm also a yoga teacher on the side, and both studios I work for use Slack to organize our communication (one studio did so at my suggestion). It really is an extremely versatile and useful tool for everything.

Slack was used to collab amongst teams and had quick and easy chats where necessary to get information across easily, especially through the beginning of the pandemic. We found in the end that Microsoft Teams was a better option for the size of our organization and handled our needs better.
  • Instant Messaging.
  • Easy to manage chats.
  • Simple design.
  • Better search of chat history.
  • Find files easier.
I think it's good for a small team or org but really doesn't do what's needed to be done for larger organizations. I'm not saying I wouldn't use it again but I wasn't a huge fan of it compared to Microsoft Teams and the additional features we get from using that service instead.

My company was based in the UK, and I was based in the United States. Slack provided a means of communication, both online and offline, where I could work with the corporate office to solve problems. I was 6 hours behind them, so I was able to catch up on company announcements, live chat, and also do voice calls. It was a necessary tool for remote office communication.
  • Non-urgent messaging
  • Immediate communication
  • Voice calls
  • Zoom integration
  • Slack made me always available, so I became addicted to checking my phone. I guess it worked too good.

I use Slack within our organization for internal communication purpose. So no need to use other messaging apps.
  • Automatic status update according to calendar meeting.
  • Easily adding document attachment.
  • Easily creating channel and communicating within team.
  • Channel in which new text is there should be highlighted precisely.
  • DM should be highlighted.
It is well suited for internal communication in an organisation where doc screenshots all are quick to share.
