We use Slack for internal organizational communication. We have also connected several apps to Slack: 1) CRM to Slack to inform us in specific channels about the deals that we have WON or LOST, 2) Bonusly to inform members when they receive a shoutout from other colleagues in the Organization 3) Google Calendar to automatically update status in Slack when someone is in meetings 4) Lucidchart to share workflow diagrams and 5) Clari to share recordings of calls.
  • UI is very user friendly and intuitive
  • Huddle feature in Slack saves a lot of time in organizing and sharing links to connect. It comes as a saviour especially when adhoc calls are needed for short durations.
  • Ability to segment groups based on your criteria.
  • Huddle while a great feature often has issues in terms of connectivity. At least once a week, I face an issue when I am not able to hear the other person or vice versa. Slack can work on improving this further.
  • Slack should have an option to add color to FONTS or increase or decrease the font size. I sometimes feel that I have to use the CODE option to mark lines in RED that need attention.
Slack is a great tool for communication in organizations that have reached scale. It allows you to communicate, share documents, and have short huddles. Areas that Slack can improve upon would be - consistency of huddle communication and clarity as well as providing more flexibility in terms of font, color and font size.

I use Slack everyday. it is the primary tool for communication and collaboration between all my team members and the entire organisation. Slack is the most essential tool to get my job done. It helps me connect with anyone in the organisation. I also get alerts on Slack such as when files have been shared with me, calendar alerts, and alerts where Slack had been integrated with internal tools.
  • I can see the entire history of all the messages I ah exchanged with a person. I can also have access to all the files we have shared between each other.
  • It helps me create groups which facilitates collaboration between multiple stakeholders.
  • I can huddle anyone at anytime and the audio is very clear. I have the ability to share my screen as well, which is very helpful.
  • I can set reminders to messages and Slack reminds me about them.
  • Slack needs to have a task management tool also. This would be very helpful to keep track of my tasks as well as keep a check on my team members tasks.
  • I am not aware of many of the automations that can be used in Slack. Conducting educational sessions and providing demos about features would help in adoption of them.
  • Sometimes huddle does not work as expected. I witness some glitches where my screen is not shared. But this happens rarely.
It is an extremely intuitive, easy to use and reliable communication tool. It maintains entire history of conversations so I can go back to previous messages anytime. It just works really well. It does exactly what I expect a communication tool to do. Also when working with external vendors we have the ability to add them to specific channels with restricted access. This is another plus point.

As a project manager at university, the Slack is very helpful in terms of accessibility and communication with other team members, students, faculty, sharing information is much faster and more organized as it offers different features for communication such as voice recordings, threads, different chatrooms and etc. it really enhances communication
  • easier communication
  • collaboration
  • information sharing
  • search feature limitations
  • file management
I would recommend Slack to a friend as it is easier to have an organized tool of communication in an online platform specifically for work and not to be messed with for different purposes. as it also offers voice recordings, which you can listen to at the speed you want, is a great feature, to listen to voice recordings and the feature that it can do a transcript is even better, however this still needs to be improved.

As an administrative assistant, it is very crucial to communicate with my teammates daily and receive the answers quickly. Slack is very helpful in this matter, because it has the features to have different channels and have them with different themes. option of the voice recording is quite helpful, as it simplifies the information sharing.
  • easier communication
  • voice messages
  • increased efficiency
  • notifications have issues
  • voice recording transcripts are not accurate
I would recommend Slack to my friends, as it offers very helpful features and is a great option for communicating and receive quick responses from teammates, also to have a work related communication solely in one platform and not mess up other communications through the apps that we daily use with friends.

I am using Slack for my daily professional communications and integrations with my apps like Google Docs and Loom Video. I like how it can make channels for each project/task and you can discuss all the details of that specific topic there. I also like the integration of my Project Management software "Trello", because it can tell me about the updates happening in Trello and I can update that cards back by staying in Slack.
  • Communication
  • Project Management
  • File Sharing
  • Integrations with various Apps
  • Backup of messages for low tier packages
  • Nicer way to show the data from integrated apps
  • Time zone / Notifications
Slack is best suited in an organization where you are communicating with your team and want to work on multiple projects. You can make channels to divide it you can send DMs to keep some messages personal. You can reply in threads so there is no miscommunication. You can integrate Apps to get things in one place and much more.

Communication tool for the whole company - DM each other, create channels, receive company-wide communications, integrate with software like Zoom and Outlook
  • Emojis
  • Integration with Zoom (huddle)
  • Keeping you organized and up to date
  • Hard to find where to create a channel
  • It can get overwhelming
  • Search
I think if you want a fun and engaging communication platform for your company it is well suited. But I also feel the majority of use cases are covered by competitor tools like Teams. What is lacking in Slack is an integration with a calendar tool like Outlook, also access to a shared file site like Sharepoint

Our entire team is remote. We are a growing franchise with over 60 locations. Our corporate team and all of our growing locations use the platform. Slack makes it feel like we are all in one big office sitting at the table together. We use it for announcements, quick huddles, daily communication, reminders, canvasses, i think we use it for everything under the umbrella of communication.
  • entire organization communication
  • internal team communication
  • reminders
  • integrations
  • the search feature is not always the best.
I have not found an instance where it does not work well. Slack is great for a team of 5 or 500 in my opinion. It is easy to use. I guess it would not be beneficial for a company who would need it to scale but could not afford the paid version.

We use Slack with channel to set specific scope discussions on products, teams and direct chat communications among the employees. It is easy to use and useful to create public and or private channel among colleagues or with customers.
The use of huddle for a voice call and video sharing is very useful.
  • Quick communications
  • Ability to reach colleagues very quickly
  • Ability to chat with customers quicker than using emails
  • Setting of status
  • Searching of messages
  • Way to organize chats based on tags
Quicker way to communicate, division in channels is very useful. Better experience related to other tools like Skype for business. Clean interface and good customer experience. The new release has a different way of showing some pages. Old way looked better fo my habits but the app improvement is good.

Great tool for teams who work remote, helps us collaborate well and being cloud based means this is great for in person meetings at the office, as well as on the go from your phone or iPad.
  • Teamwork
  • Brainstorming
  • Collating innovative ideas
  • Integration to project planning apps
  • Integration with email
  • Dashboard to plug in database for dev stats
It's a great tool for the remote workforce to brainstorm ideas both inside and outside of meetings. Makes it much easier to contact teammates. Slack is not so great at making calls and video conferencing but hopefully will get better over time.

We use Slack to communicate in our team and as a business at large. The product allows us to easily communicate and share ideas, files and documents. We can easily jump into huddles to audio or video call with each other. We use it all day every day, it is very smooth and seamless.
  • Scheduling messages for later
  • Sharing documents and files
  • Huddling (video and audio)
  • Sharing images
  • Integrating with HubSpot and other apps
  • Grouping of conversations in one place
  • Screen sharing interface on huddles
  • HubSpot notifications could be disappearing
It is so easy and quick to jump into a huddle to speak with my colleagues at a moment's notice. It is a very good way of keeping in touch with everyone, especially as the team grows in size. It might not be best suited to smaller organisations who don't have that many people.

I wanted to share my positive experience with implementing Slack at work. It has truly been a game-changer for our inter-office communications. Slack has proven to be an excellent tool for connecting with the rest of the team. I find it incredibly user-friendly and efficient, making work easier and more productive. My overall experience with Slack has been fantastic. The platform is intuitive, making team communication seamless and enjoyable. I appreciate how Slack simplifies communication, keeps everything organized, and ensures everyone stays connected. It has become our go-to tool for fostering smooth and enjoyable teamwork. The only problems ( not really problems ) was the initial setup and internal onboarding.
  • Team Collaboration
  • API Links to other Applications
  • User Friendliness
  • Mobile experience / great app
  • More flexibility on pricing
  • Video conferencing
  • Knowledge Base
Team collaboration and scraping information through APIs is excellent.

With video calls, we could eliminate other applications.

Communicating and reaching out to Teams and sharing information with everyone. Also, using this to track and find information is really helpful for me as a subject matter expert. This can also help us cascade important reports and announcements. It also helps us to communicate with each other and to support my colleagues.
  • Cascading report to our team.
  • Escalating the important case.
  • Communicating to each other.
  • Slightly enhancing the letter font.
  • Adding some features that may help.
  • Removed some slight glitch.
For me, it is well suited to communicating and reaching out to one another and may help in sharing valuable information that is really important to business matters. It also blends well when it comes to escalating the important cases that may be able to be handled as soon as possible, but sometimes it will be less when it comes to uploading some files due to glitches, but it was a slight issue.

Such a great tool for company communications. Easy to keep overview of everything thats happening, easy to collaborate on projects while working from home.

Slack allows you to create channels for departments and topucs and giving everyone granular access. It's even possible to workw ith externals by giving them guest access to specific channels, or to collaborate with different Sack teams outside of your organisation, simply by linking channels.
  • Clean UX
  • Granular notification settings
  • Integrated Video calling
  • Cross-org collaboration
  • Pricey for enterprises
For any organization I'd recommend Slack over Microsoft Teams in terms of useability.

We're a portfolio business similar to an agency model. Slack Connect allows us to bring our portfolio companies into dedicated channels and manage communication and access for our suppliers as well. I'm not sure we could thrive without it.
  • External channels for clients and suppliers.
  • Automation with app integrations.
  • High visibility of projects to everyone on the team.
  • It can get a bit noisy with lots of channels and threads in particular.
  • Some people take a little while to get used managing comms.
  • It can be hard to find a particular discussion once its a bit older and buried in other messages.
Where you have external stakeholders from your organization, I think Slack shines. Also where you are managing several projects and conversations around specific topics, if you are having one singular topic of conversation and the number of people is small, you could look at WhatsApp, email, or Discord and start to see similar levels of quality of solutions. Slack still solves this scenario very well but the alternatives are similar only a little worse.

We use Slack almost entirely for internal and some client communication. These days, we use it more than we use email. It makes communication swift, simple, and organized. The search feature and thread capability are especially helpful for me. The thread feature helps ensure that people can have eyes on each other's conversations in case there's something that would be relevant to them, but it also keeps the chat from getting too busy.

We have numerous different channels for different functions at the company (marketing, creative, sales, general chat, random). It's a great way to connect with people in other departments, which can be particularly nice in an entirely remote company.
  • Organized chats
  • Search feature with advanced filters
  • Custom layouts
  • APIs with other apps for seamless integration
  • Syncs with my calendar to provide reminders
  • Clearer step-by-step instructions on setting up integrations
  • Easier 'reminder' features for responding to messages
Searching for previous messages and files makes recalling past conversations and to-do's easier. If you want to immediately reach a colleague or client, this is basically a professional texting platform. Email inboxes can get bogged down, but Slack's sidebar ensures that your message gets attention. If you want to provide a positive experience for employees. If you want to preview a photo, document, or other file before downloading or viewing.

You can also immediately start a zoom meeting. Easy features that can be activated with just a forward slash.

As a remote company, Slack is our central hub for communication, where we collaborate on tasks and projects as well as day to day work.

We call each other through Slack, share updates in main channels and use the group chat functionality to ensure we're all on the same page as to where we are on a day-to-day basis.

In short, Slack allows us to function as a remote company in the same way we would in an office.
  • Direct messages
  • Channels
  • Reminders
  • Integrations
  • Threads
  • Canvas
If you are a remote company and you need an easy, structured approach to communication and collaboration, Slack will make your life easy.

The ability to separate colleagues into the channels they will find most relevant and also how quickly you can create direct messages and 'huddles' (calls) mean that you hardly notice you're not in a building with your colleagues. Top marks!

The usage of Slack in our organization is by being able to communicate with other department within our account. It is one of the main things that I personally use when I escalate cases to our higher team or executive which is really important to the work load that I currently do in my daily basis.
  • Slack is good for managing threads
  • Slack is great when you want to escalate things with proper documentation
  • Slack has good features that allows the user to customize the thread
  • Design of the interface
  • Customizability
  • Loading speed
I think Slack would be a perfect fit for business related purposes, but if I would use Slack for daily usage regarding about my personal use like social life I think Slack is more inclined to professional use so what I can tell about Slack is that it has all the components of what a typical social media platform is but in professional manner.

Slack is the software equivalent of a multi-tool. I've used it for many years, in many companies, and it has always been the backbone of any team collaboration. Extremely useful collaboration tool, well suited for every company which needs cross team communication. Slack also integrates through apps with almost every other major software, enabling it to send and receive data. Slack helped both me and the other mentors at Lighthouse Labs collaborate with each other, ask for help from senior mentors, and follow-up with students after tricky mentoring sessions. The ability to tag specific senior mentors or call for second-level support in a specific channel was invaluable when trying to solve problems for students quickly and effectively. We could also broadcast solutions to common problems, keep track of lecture times and the progress of each student cohort, and contact specific members of Lighthouse Labs for questions about payroll or scheduling. As a one-stop all-purpose text communication platform, Slack can't be beat!
  • Quick and easy direct messaging to single people or groups of people
  • Rich text support for images, attachments, code snippets, or just emphasis
  • Channels are quick and easy to set up and customize
  • Sometimes it's easy to get overwhelmed by notifications if you don't customize your alerts
  • Free plan limits the number of messages available at any given time, meaning you can "lose" a conversation with someone after talking to others
  • iOS version of Slack doesn't support landscape orientation
It's great for keeping groups of people in touch and in sync, no matter the reason: a group of friends, a family, a small business, or a large business. My family even uses it to plan events, share funny pictures, or broadcast important family news. However, it's less appropriate for keeping contact between just two or three people, unless they're working on a complex project that could benefit from sectioning various conversations into specific channels.

Slack is an incredibly visually pleasing and fast/easy way to communicate to large groups, single individuals or smaller subgroups of people. I love the functionality of giphy's where you can clear express what you are trying to say, and the huddle functionality has gotten better over time. I've been using Slack for the last 6 years and I'm always sad if I change company's and the platform of communication changes from Slack to a different platform.
  • Visually pleasing
  • Extensive ability to communicate through giphy's, emoji's, formatting of information
  • up time is very consistent
  • I would love to see Slack adding in more quick commands
  • putting together training for how to use these quick commands
Slack is fun to use when you're trying to get quick answers, quick responses. Like with any other chat platform, if you have more complex ideas to try to explain, sometimes it is not as clear and desirable, but that just has to do with what you're trying to accomplish. For connection and team building, it is incredible.
