Applications can cause slowdown when onboarding because of the learning curve. Slack is user friendly and very easy to teach new users how to navigate the app. Installation is fairly quick, which also saves a lot of time when setting up new computers and users.

It is so simple to use, children in school could use it to communicate during this virtual learning time we are in. It's a perfect tool to get a group of people on a secured network and program to be able to communicate properly and effectively to complete overall task!

I'm glad we have access to this tool, but it's very annoying to have to keep track of messages here as well as in email. [I] wish it was integrated into Gmail somehow.

Some of the positives of slack are
  • Slack offers a platform for app integration, which helps in managing the whole of an organization's activities in once place, bethey calendars, Trello, Google Drive cloud, GitHub, Gmail, or Bluejeans
  • GitHub is a boon to developers and managers to track the issues in the code
Negatives are
  • Storage space offered initially is low and once it's over, all the data is encrypted and saved on Slack. The user has to pay to get that data back from the slack

As long as you use the basic chat features and nothing more, it really is super easy to understand and use. Once you want to take advantage of some of the more advanced features and capabilities, that's when things get complicated. Anyone who has use SMS or a chat program before will be able to figure out the basics though, so rolling this out should be relatively straightforward and not required exhaustive training. Teaching chat etiquette is something else though.

I think that Slack has a high learning curve. It may be difficult to use at the beginning, specially if you are not a tech person. But once you learn to use it, the product works great for you specific needs, as it has many features and tools which fit into many situations.

It's an amazing communication tool. It's like Slack took everything that made Skype amazing at the time, made it much lighter and tailored it to make it work in a business setting. I love that, even though Slack isn't a project management tool, it can help you manage and not stress the day-to-day stuff.

It is simple to set up and easy to add specific people to specific channels, giving them certain access. It is perfect for communicating with people sat next to you, or in the next building or even county, without the need to open cumbersome email software and trawl through hundreds of unread emails. The document sharing is a really useful tool for sending documents for review and comments and its secure.

Some apps offer a great desktop experience but have more limited mobile functionality. Others are the reverse. I find that Slack does both tasks equally well and presents a perfect UI for either format. I have experienced downtime with Slack before but outages are rare and they get things back up quickly.

Everything just works. I think the navigation and usability is quite intuitive. I have never had to look up any information or google how to use a feature of Slack (both in the desktop form and on the mobile app). I've never heard any complaints from our other employees either. I have been asked to remind people how to set up reminders, ironically. Although that itself is really simple too (you type "/remind" and then the reminder details).

It's very intuitive and easy to use. Where you think something will be is where it is located. Groups and private chats are easy, tagging is basic, emoji's are fun and easy. Really not too much is difficult.
