SmartRecruiters during the selection process seemed to have a combination of all of the best features of the other systems in one platform. The price was extremely fair, and so the value proposition was far and away the best in the field. Since implementation, we have found the service, responsiveness, and rate of upgrades a quantum leap over the Taleo system we previous used. We have a genuine partnership with SmartRecruiters who are proactive in helping us achieve our aim to be world's best in our talent attraction platform.

SmartRecruiters won our RFP process largely in part because of the candidate experience. This in conjunction with the dynamic nature of their product releases allows us to stay ahead of most recruiting trends.

Very different systems, Smart Recruiters is much more collaborative. I found reposting adverts was easier on Taleo and we are still waiting on a number of issues to be ironed out, such as the integration with SEEK and also the single user sign on, but once this occurs am sure it will be a great system to use.

Does not stack up well. . . . . . PeopleSoft is a more elaborate system and a larger implementation not only limited to recruitment but also compensation and benfits, PMS and talent management. Taleo has a much wider coverage base of the stake holders in the organisation.

SmartRecruiters is definitely better than Taleo. I would put it as slightly below Jobvite. We still need to use Jobvite for scheduling since SmartRecruters' tool does not work. I think in a few years SmartRecruiters may surpass Jobvite. However right now because you can search past candidates on Jobvite and we need to use it for scheduling I would choose Jobvite vs. SmartRecruiters.

I have not used any competitive programs in the past. However, I have directly hired many people over the years and participated in hiring and interviewing for many positions using manual, and Access and Excel database candidate management processes.

I was not a decision maker at Ancestry. The person that chose SmartRecruter was Robert Merrill, the recruiting director at that time. I think it's one of the best decisions ever. Once I got over the initial learning curve and figuring out how to shut off the notification overload, I was hooked. I think it's the best applicant tracking system I've ever used.

SmartRecruiters has less features, but therefore it is easier to learn and costs less. We had a much lower participation rate from franchisees when utilizing iCIMS. iCIMS is great for those that are willing to invest the time in learning it and of course the extra money. But our franchisees (hiring managers) were not using it because it was too complex. So for us, it proved to be a poor investment. Our users vastly prefer the more user-freindly SmartRecruiters system.

It's the best of the bunch in that SmartRecruiters is modern, feels like a progressive tech company when you apply, thinks about integration and platform (and not just an electronic file cabinet) and there are a ton of bells and whistles yet you don't feel it. Whereas with a legacy ATS (as in older than 5+ years), you log in and it feels like you're managing your stock portfolio or some ancient finance website - too many buttons, small font and 15 steps to do one task. In comparison to new modern ones - other new ATS focus on specific things but ignore the rest (e.g. Gild focuses on social scrapping of the internet to find and update your candidate profile; Greenhouse focuses on a recruiter dashboard; Jobvite keeps updating to stay relevant but each update slows down the system) where SmartRecruiters focuses on the candidate and the hiring managers... the whole point of an ATS (apply, get reviewed, interview and hired) and builds the rest around that.

SmartRecruiters is much more simplistic for managers to become familiar with. It is easy to navigate and efficient, and they actually enjoy using it. The other systems had more functionality and are better suited to enterprise organizations. I really didn't want ATS management to become a chore for hiring managers.
