What is Smartsheet?
Smartsheet is an online project management and collaboration tool from Smartsheet.inc in Bellevue, Washington. The software has a characteristic spreadsheet like interface but contains the full panoply of features expected of project management and collaboration software, such as automated alerts, instantaneous updating and sharing across team members, resource management facilitating budgeting and task allocation, nested tasks organized in a hierarchy, a Gantt chart view, the ready production of exportable reports (e.g. Excel), and integration with email. Across spreadsheets cells can be linked allowing the creation of master spreadsheets that provide ready summaries or automated reports. Smartsheet's capabilities can be expanded with a multitude of apps (e.g. Dropbox, Google Apps) or integrated into combinatory solutions (e.g. with Salesforce) to tailor fit business needs. It supports full mobile access.
Three tiers cover Smartsheet's pricing options. The Basic level provides core features for small groups of individuals, while the Team level is recommended for groups of up to 50 people and supports more user features, allows multiple sheet creators, and has reporting functions. The Enterprise level is a custom fit tier for groups of greater than 50 individuals or companies, and may include dedicated support personnel if desired.

- Increase internal efficiency and team sharing. Has also reduced effort in keeping client up to date on current project status

Forget Microsft Excel or Project and Use SmartSheet!
- Replacing Microsoft Project with Smartsheet was a money saver. Smartsheet is relatively inexpensive product that does everything Microsoft Project did for us and more!
- I would say that our awareness/responsibility has improved. We typically have projects that are multi-year projects and it can be very hard to remember all the details throughout this process. With everything kept and stored on one sheet and the ability to set reminders months in advance, we seldom forget any major aspects of a project anymore.

- There have not been ANY negative impacts to using Smartsheet - not one! It has completely changed the way we do business. we are able to offer high-tech, cloud-based solutions to our clients at a low cost that are user-friendly regardless of the user's comfort level with technology. It also improves employee efficiency as it relates to output as well as communication. I can't say enough about how much easier it has made everyone's jobs.

Smartsheet Positives and Negatives
- Inventory!! Smartsheet has helped tremendously for us to have a constantly up to date document with all inventory information that can be accessed by anyone who needs to see it.
- Smartsheet has also allowed us to eliminate A LOT of paper copies because of the ability to attach documents to a sheet or a specific line. We save paper and space! And everyone can access the documents from the same place.
- Communication between employees can increased significantly. My colleagues in the facilities department had been using Excel to track their projects, but they had to provide updated paper copies to everyone at the monthly meetings. Now that they use Smartsheet, they can all pull up the live document eliminating the need for paper copies and employees not having current information.
- It was handy when we needed MPPs. That's mostly it.
- However, for daily project management, it was not needed enough, and we decided to forego the expense.

Functional. Simple. Good for small business admin
- We could have done the same coordination tasks in Excel but with less design elegance.
