SnapLogic has worked really well for us because it has offered complete flexibility to integrate against a diverse systems landscape. As we opted for the fully managed option (with Cloudplexes) it was easy to set up and maintain. It is also relatively easy to use resulting in low barrier to entry for new users - my team of data engineers was able to start up and delivery quickly.

Well suited for incrementally moving data between systems. As for the movement of big data, SnapLogic expects you to delegate this to EMR or some sort of external spark executor, this should be kept in mind for the ETL of large amounts of data; however, working database tables works just fine.

Snaplogic is unique from other IPASS tools if you're very sensitive about data security as they have an on-premise option where your data never needs to leave your data center. And data pipelines can be quickly created if Snaplogic has the requisite connector to your data sources. On the downside, if you're transforming a large amount of data for example in training machine learning models, a tool with elastic compute capability is more appropriate.

As a configuration as a code tool, SnapLogic stands up very well in this space. It has plentiful integrations and generic ones which allow you to bridge the gap when you find there isn't a handcrafted pack already available, in essence, there's always a way to achieve what you're trying to do.

SnapLogic is suitable for environments where the data sources are of mixed type (SQL, File, API) and you need fast and easy integration between systems using those data sources. SnapLogic is not suitable when dealing with very complex and specific data transformations where a lot of coding is required. Their scripting functionality is limited.

For an environment with many different endpoints, some on-prem and some on the cloud, SnapLogic really helps in bringing all of them together and integrating their data. It also behaves well with large volumes of data and can be a great addition to a Streaming Platform such as Kafka. Perhaps not so appropriate for small scope use-cases.

We have tried other tools and no one is as good as snapLogic. It is easy to understand and to use. And it does very well, what it is supposed to do. When you get into more edge cases it can be a little bit frustrating. But even in those cases, support is great and it will give you all to fix your issue.

Snaplogic has the BEST pricing model in the industry. There are no excessive "end-point" pricing or # of API call-only pricing models. They allow for on-premise hosting of their Nodes, which gives us the flexibility t expand endpoints and API calls without massive budget overruns. They listen to their customers and meet with us monthly to go over release notes AND ask for feedback/issues/tickets we have faced in the last month to address them. I've never seen another vendor do this in my 25 years of IT. The Snaplogic UI has a steep learning curve and its UI isn't the best. It's not as easy as say a Tray.io or Zapier but it is much more fully-featured. Snaplogic realized their gap and has since released Snaplogic Flows (Zapier, point, and click) integrations.

SnapLogic is well suited for business analysts or engineers who are looking for a fast and easy way to load in data from external sources. It is not great for real-time updates to large datasets or for large rebuilds of data. It is not great for abstracting out a process that you want to reuse in many different scenarios.

Well suited if you have a mix of legacy systems and mature SaaS / API-based integrations. When you don't have a vast pool of development resources and integration architects, enables a lot of users to hit the ground running and start building out integrations using just configuration tools. When you need to schedule both parent and child processes to work wither each other. If you want an easy to use interface, with real-time validation and data previewing so you can identify errors before you deploy your integration solution

Snaplogic is an easy-to-use and well-designed application, it makes simple integrations easy to create via its interface and also allows more complex and detailed jobs to be set up with additional settings and customization. It can be used by bothering higher-level business users and low-level technical users to achieve business objectives.

SnapLogic is an easy-to-learn solution that helped improve the delivery time of our integrations. There are many pre-built connectors with powerful functionalities for the main applications available in the market and some generic connectors that can be customized. Their support is user-friendly, helpful, and quick most of the time.

SnapLogic is well suited to bulk transferring of data with standard transformations. It also has a great manager section for the administration of your projects. Where SnapLogic may fall short is in the transformation heavy projects where the data sits in the pipeline during transformation. This can cause bottlenecks with resources on the nodes.

If you have integrations that are complex in terms of the movement of data being from a bunch of different systems and have a lot of different moving parts, it works great. Their support is more hands-off though which is a bit frustrating for installing the SnapLogic groundplex or having any general issues. Once you're all set up, it's an amazing product to use.

If you need to automate reporting or data moves you HAVE to have SnapLogic. I've built out 2 workflow automation teams and Snap has been integral to both of these teams. It's not suited for completing analytics, but rather for getting data into a place where you can make decisions based on that data.

SnapLogic: New Era of ETL

Snaplogic is best suited for ETL purposes, loading large chunks of data in an easy way. It is easy to install. For small scale industries, it is an appropriate tool, as it costs very little. It is less suited for complex transforming. For medium to large scale organizations, it has some functionality constraints.

Our finance team is doing integration with the billing systems, and some of our non-tech-savvy team is doing the SnapLogic integration. I will recommend using SnapLogic. However, if there is a BI team doing data warehouse, I would not recommend using SnapLogic as the sole data integration tool.

SnapLogic is well suited for data integration across varied sources by non developers or semi developers when access to certain data is more important than the whole system itself. Using it for creating data warehouses is a bit challenging and time consuming proposition using this tool.

Snaplogic is well suited for almost every data flow. They also have snaps to connect to various third-party vendors - which allows you to talk directly to the vendor's API. Snaplogic is less suited for data blending as it requires many snaps. It's not that it's not doable, it's just that the pipeline gets filled with a lot of snaps and can look complex.
