We use SnapLogic in the engineering department. My team, the data engineering team, is the primary user of SnapLogic. SnapLogic allows us to load in data from all of our external sources into a single source, our datamart, which we then use for business analysis.
  • SnapLogic is great at connecting quickly to an external source.
  • SnapLogic is great at building complex logic into ETL pipelines
  • SnapLogic is great at connecting to many different external sources and bringing the data together into a single source
Cons
  • SnapLogic has many UI weaknesses that make working in it daily pretty frustrating
  • SnapLogic has trouble connecting to certain external sources that it has specific snaps for which is frustrating
  • SnapLogic has a hard time abstracting out complex pipelines in order to reuse them without having to copy and paste
SnapLogic is well suited for business analysts or engineers who are looking for a fast and easy way to load in data from external sources. It is not great for real-time updates to large datasets or for large rebuilds of data. It is not great for abstracting out a process that you want to reuse in many different scenarios.

We use SnapLogic to integrate data from our business systems into our data stack, to integrate our applications as a central integration point, and also to allow us to automate previously manual tasks such as file transfers to external vendors.
  • Ease of setting up integrations via graphical user interface
  • Monitoring of configured pipelines and integrations via dashboard
  • Performance and reliability of configured pipelines
Cons
  • Configuration of accounts / permissions can be clunky
  • Assets can build up in environment folders and be hard to manage / track down
Snaplogic is an easy-to-use and well-designed application, it makes simple integrations easy to create via its interface and also allows more complex and detailed jobs to be set up with additional settings and customization. It can be used by bothering higher-level business users and low-level technical users to achieve business objectives.

We are using Snaplogic across ITV to support a vast number of integration use cases to support our Digital Transformation strategy. Within our Salesforce team, we did not have the technical resources or tools to be able to tackle integration items on our roadmap. We used to outsource the work to various developers to build point-to-point integrations which were difficult to scale and maintain. We moved to Snaplogic 2 years ago, which has been instrumental in empowering non-developers to become citizen developers - by using Snaplogic the team has been able to build out multiple integrations between different systems, using a variety of integration protocols to suit each use case.
  • Offers a simple and logic to use visual interface, with real-time feedback and validation.
  • East to use branded connectors, simplifying the connection to well-known applications using the language of the application
  • Great community, always offering help and tips when building pipelines
Cons
  • Some of the Snaplogic University courses are great, but there is not enough, I would like to see a larger range of video tutorials and perhaps something more interactive training like that of the trailhead.
Well suited if you have a mix of legacy systems and mature SaaS / API-based integrations. When you don't have a vast pool of development resources and integration architects, enables a lot of users to hit the ground running and start building out integrations using just configuration tools. When you need to schedule both parent and child processes to work wither each other. If you want an easy to use interface, with real-time validation and data previewing so you can identify errors before you deploy your integration solution

SnapLogic is an easy-to-learn solution that reduced the delivery time of our integrations and improved its reliability. We use it to integrate the ERP with a CRM and many other applications in our ecosystem. The pre-built connectors are powerful and simplified the development of integrations across many different applications. The transformation tools are flexible and allowed to easily transfer of different and complex data structures across the systems.
  • Powerful and flexibe connectors for the main data sources and applications in the market.
  • The interface is easy to use and intuitive.
  • User support is really helpful and engaged.
  • Data transformation tools are useful.
Cons
  • Update logs could be more clearer and detailed.
  • Run time error handling is limited and some messages are too generic.
  • There are no pre built connectors for less known apps in the market.
SnapLogic is an easy-to-learn solution that helped improve the delivery time of our integrations. There are many pre-built connectors with powerful functionalities for the main applications available in the market and some generic connectors that can be customized. Their support is user-friendly, helpful, and quick most of the time.

SnapLogic is used in our organization to integrate Product Master Data with various systems and with a Kafka implementation in between. The biggest problem solved by SnapLogic is the ability to put many different endpoints speaking to each other with the correct format of the data and on a Streaming basis instead of a Batch basis.
  • The ease of development and analysis of integration processes thanks to the heavily visual user interface.
  • The ability to see the integrated documents step by step between the Snaps.
  • The integrated dashboard capabilities.
Cons
  • The inability to predict how much processing power one will need before purchase.
  • Log file viewing and analysis not very linear in my opinion.
  • How to guides are scarce and could explore Snaps' configuration more deeply.
For an environment with many different endpoints, some on-prem and some on the cloud, SnapLogic really helps in bringing all of them together and integrating their data. It also behaves well with large volumes of data and can be a great addition to a Streaming Platform such as Kafka. Perhaps not so appropriate for small scope use-cases.
