Soapbox is used by teams to help give insights and order to agendas and team meetings between managers and employees. Essentially, Soapbox acts as a central dashboard to share agendas, take notes, give and take feedback, and assign the next steps. It's often the missing piece in organizing a productive one on one meeting with our people.
  • Shared scheduling
  • Meeting management
  • Lacks ability to give surveys
  • Lacks robust features
Soapbox is excellent for meeting management - it helps propose an agenda and questions to kick off one on ones. This is very helpful for managers who need a little nudge when asking the right questions to move the meeting forward. This is where the Soapbox structure serves well. If you need more complex software to handle custom processes, you may need to look elsewhere.
  • More meaningful meetings
  • Easier to set up one on one time
Where Zoom and GoToMeeting focus on the meeting itself, Soapbox goes more in-depth and gives the structure that a lot of managers are looking for. In my case, it was the question prompts, shared meeting notes, and meeting feedback that provided the most value. Seeing changes to agenda and notes in real-time is also very helpful.
Support is available via web and phone during regular business hours. Relatively basic but with ample training upfront across the website, webinars, and helpful content - all the answers I've encountered have been found online within short order.

Soapbox is currently used only by a few of our team members who prefer Wistia's branding and user interface compared to the competing apps. What I really enjoy about Soapbox is how easy to use it is from Day 1. As for solving business problems, Soapbox is a brilliant video and screen-recording tool that makes more personal messaging with leads and customers possible.
  • Beautiful user interface -- an absolute delight to use.
  • Editing options are easy and useful options within the web-app editor.
  • Better reliability: there have been times when I'd record a video and it wouldn't save (quite heartbreaking! 💔).
  • Improved sound: sometimes the recording would produce crackling sounds that can't be edited out.
If you work in a customer-facing role like sales, customer success, or support, you may find this nifty tool extremely useful. If a picture says 1000 words, a video can tell a million, and with Soapbox, you can quickly record screen sharing videos (as well as your webcam) to deliver a personalized message to your leads or customers. What I've found especially useful about Soapbox when compared to other tools is the ability to select when to show a full or split-screen video of either the webcam or the screen. It truly adds a professional touch to your videos, and they seem so much more personal that way.
I love that it's so easy to embed a GIF into an email, and the usability is good all around.
  • It's reducing friction when explaining complex topics to leads & customers.
  • We've had more memorable emails for leads, as they see a custom video is recorded for them.
In terms of usability, Soapbox trumps Loom, Vidyard, and the recently released Drift Video. I'll be honest -- the integrations and live chat functions on Drift Video are attractive, but I still prefer the simplicity of Soapbox.
However, reliability is where Soapbox could improve. There have been cases where I'd try recording the same video twice on Soapbox, it would fail, and I'd have to revert to recording with Vidyard.
If Soapbox was as reliable, I'd give this product a 10/10!
We haven't had the chance to reach out to Wistia about Soapbox support, but I know Wistia (as a brand) is epic on all fronts -- sales, marketing & support. So if I had the need to reach out, I'm sure I'd get a reply in a prompt and satisfactory manner.
