It's a great tool to help me learn the new software. I use it almost every day. It saves me from asking my coworkers for help on simple tasks on our various software. The company is using Spekit to help with new hires and it's a great way to avoid bothering other coworkers.
  • Looks great, the design of the plug-in looks very streamlined. It makes a difference if a plugin is ugly.
  • Integration is great. It installs into Google Chrome in seconds. It's always accessible when you need it
  • Usability is amazing. It automatically places itself near tabs that you might need help on.
Cons
  • Sometimes gets in the way. This only happens when I'm looking for stuff that I am already familiar with. Sometimes it wants to help you too much.
  • Hard to disable the big pop up on the right-hand side. I was able to figure it out but it's not the easiest.
  • Can pop up when you don't need it. This goes along with getting in the way. The plug-in wants to help all the time. There should be settings for the different lever of users.
I use it all the time on Salesforce and its super helpful. The plug in helps me complete paper work that I normally would not know how to complete. It is also helpful in my down time to run through the training part of the plug in. Over all there are many times where I have used it.
  • Makes me more efficient on tasks where I don't know what I'm doing .
I haven't used any other competitors.

We have so many "documents" in G Drive, Confluence, the website, and other places. It's ridiculous and truly hard for any new person to join the organization. Where should we go to find XYZ stuff? Who knows! And search really doesn't do any of this justice.

Spekit is just a good search tool across many systems. It solves a problem that shouldn't be a problem, but clearly it is. This takes rapidly growing orgs who do not structure their internal systems in a sufficient way - to search across it all! Lovely.
  • Search! They will look across all the different verticals to help you find all of those documents.
  • One place for all docs, it's really good at finding all the content and explaining what tools mean for new people.
Cons
  • Honestly, there are a lot of tools that do the same thing - there are lots of search tools for orgs that use too many tools to host content.
  • I truly despise all the little helpers when I download the extension. Its the worst, stop cluttering my chrome.
Good situation: when you have way too many tools hosting content, Spekit is great at bringing everything together so I don't need to remember where things are hosted. I just need to know ish how to search.

Bad: I feel like it still doesn't help people discover content nearly as much. The nice thing about a Confluence or other systems like that is that there are resources right in front of you, VS having to know what to search for. Also, I hate the extension, stop cluttering up Gmail.
  • The search! It's the go to thing.
  • The connection to GDrive, Confluence, and so on.
  • Lowered the need to onboard people and teach them where all the resources are, this helps salespeople be more efficient and scale.
  • It's helpful to say "just search it on Spekit".
Spekit is fine, I just feel like it doesn't have the world's best upfront organizational tool. I like Atlassian Confluence due to the ability to have pages and have an organized thought. That does take significantly more effort to keep it organized and up to date which everyone doesn't really want to have.

On the flip side, Spekit does have a great search tool, which is a lot like other enterprise search tools, this one just happens to be used by the sales team.

Overall, I'm a fan, except for their chrome extension - stop invading my space.

Salesforce Org documentation is the life-blood of an organization. It's what helps keep them moving forward, as staffing changes happen. But there’s a reason why many Salesforce Orgs lack good (and/or current) documentation - it’s always been a challenge to create documentation that’s easily accessible where and when it's needed, and it has always been a struggle simply to keep that documentation relevant, up-to-date & meaningful as changes to processes, etc., take place.

Spekit solves the documentation challenge by making its creation so easy, it’s almost like they can read my mind! And with in-browser support, that documentation is right at the user's fingertips, no matter where they are - in Salesforce, in an email, or any browser-based application!
  • Spekit is quick and easy to install and start using.
  • Spekit's customer support is second to none.
  • Spekit offers a lot of flexibility for users to customize for particular situations.
Cons
  • Spekit is a small company, that's growing rapidly...for some companies that tends to cause issues like slow responses to emails, roadmaps of future product enhancements that don't meet customer needs, etc. - but this does not seem to be the case with Spekit. They really care about their customers' success.
If you are using Salesforce and have any kind of processes in place, you need Spekit. If you are a fast growing company with new team members coming on board often, you need Spekit. If you have simply avoided documenting your Salesforce Org because doing so is time consuming and a real pain, you REALLY need Spekit!
  • The time saved from using Spekit is incredible. No more calls/emails asking "what's this field for?" or "How do I do ?" It's all right there, thanks to Spekit.
  • Using Spekit has provided an unexpected morale boost because it's not only easy to use, but it's making work more enjoyable too.
I saw Spekit in action before looking at other products & decided I didn't need to see anything else.
