Strong Employee Advocacy Platform With Room To Be Built Out Even More

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Employee Advocacy by Sprout Social allows us to distribute company news and examples of our company culture to our employees to allow them to share that content on their personal social media channels. It helps us use the power of our employee networks to reach audiences we have no access to. It also helps offset the social media platforms declining organic reach for brands.

Pros

  • Sharing is fast and easy for the end user
  • Reporting is helpful to track success
  • Topics, teams and tagging aid with organization
  • Automated emails require little time to produce but remind employees to post

Cons

  • Glitchy, sometimes features don't work as expected
  • Limited social media channels, no TikTok or other newer platforms
  • Photo specs vary depending on where content is displayed, and in areas where it's not up to spec, photos are cropped, stretched and/or squeezed in odd ways

Likelihood to Recommend

It's a good fit for our recruiters because they are always looking for good info about our organization to share. It's a small but engaged group that takes advantage of having a niche topic and team. It also works well for huge company news, such as winning an award. Items that all employees know about and a large percentage of them are excited about perform best. Niche topics that are only relevant to one or a few small teams don't perform as well because employees not involved in that work are less likely to share.

Easy to Leverage Social Media & Insights Content Sharing Platform

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Bambu by Sprout Social to share canned content our Marketing team creates, as well as our own stories &/or links to share out via social media (typically LinkedIn) and gain tracking/insight data for our Marketing team. Our sellers use it to position themselves as thought leaders and trusted advisors in their space across their portfolio and for social selling purposes. All of our employees gain a Bambu license, but most teams don't use it nearly as routinely as our Sales and Marketing teams.

Pros

  • Scheduling out content / shares for the week
  • Providing a quick glance leaderboard of top content shares across departments
  • Easy to learn and leverage user interface (UI)

Cons

  • Options at the top for Suggest a Story or Share Original Content could stand out differently/better (kind of "hiding in plain sight")
  • The options for sharing to LinkedIn or other aren't quite as easy to see/utilize as they could be (an idea for improving the UI)

Likelihood to Recommend

Routinely sharing job postings from Bambu by Sprout Social to LinkedIn, using the canned content our Marketing team provides and revising so that it "sounds like me" prior to sharing on LI. Cadencing my content shares for the week in the "Scheduling" option Creating a new link to share content via Bambu by Sprout Social to LI, to position myself as a thought leader in my space

Marketing campaigns made simple

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize Bambu to coordinate social media efforts and share new material with our social networks on LinkedIn. It creates an easier process to share new marketing ideas and see which campaigns were effective and which ones were not. It takes a lot of effort off the sales organization to have a central location to share our material and makes the marketing team more efficient in rolling campaigns out.

Pros

  • Coordinating Marketing Efforts.
  • Ease of use in sharing to social media platforms.
  • Organize your outbound efforts.

Cons

  • Extension in chrome would be beneficial to help craft one-off emails and campaigns.

Likelihood to Recommend

Every time we have a big campaign push or a great article that was written internally, it makes it that much easier to share with all the options.

Good, but worth vetting other options based on needs

Rating: 5 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our sales team and partners use it as a form of social advocacy. Bambu supports our desire to bring brand awareness into the hands of our team and to bring confidence to those who are not adept at using social channels.

Pros

  • Ease of use for user
  • Ease of use for managers and content contributors

Cons

  • Sprout to Bambu integration is not what was depicted in trial and is not used because of this
  • Missing functionality: LinkedIn tagging
  • Missing functionality: posting videos
  • Missing functionality: posting something without a link. Example: picture from an event or community outreach

Likelihood to Recommend

I chose Bambu because we already use Sprout and was excited for the integration, especially when considering I would not have to double my efforts. As a B2B company the primary channel we use in LinkedIn and the push to Bambu from Sprout does not work well for LinkedIn. Knowing we are a B2B customer, I wish this was made more clear in demo. The tool is still functional and serves a purpose, but I might have considered other tools more knowing this capability is lacking.

  • The ability to add stories from the app.

Bambu has been helpful to shift our culture from one of reluctance and fear related to social media to one of acceptance.

Employee Advocacy done right

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We first started using Bambu purely as an employee advocacy platform following a rebrand. Our leadership team had used similar platforms at their previous companies. The platform is managed by the Marketing department, but used almost across the entire organization (250 seats currently). The platform helps make our employees a force multiplier in supporting our new brand by sharing approved content that has been carefully curated into the system. It's also had a direct impact on marketing spend because we've been able to divert budget that would have been allocated for awareness/display ad campaigns the previous year into other areas of the business. More recently, we've also started using it as an internal comms tool and it is working very well.

Pros

  • A very simple and intuitive UI (both desktop + mobile)
  • User reporting like "Leaderboard" reports which are key for wrapping an inventive program around employee advocacy for top performers
  • Product Management - in the time I've been using this platform the development team is constantly adding product enhancements and are very receptive to user feedback.

Cons

  • Currently Bambu only supports LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter - would be nice to see other social platforms in the mix.
  • Story editing tool is pure WYSIWYG, would like to be able to see an "edit text/html" feature.
  • Would like to be able to customize HTML email template (for digest, newsletter, etc email templates) to our brand specs

Likelihood to Recommend

Bambu is a pretty straightforward and budget friendly platform, what you see is what you get. If you're looking for a cost effective platform that allows you to create a repository of social content in a controlled way so that it is aligned with business objectives it's worth your time for a look.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our digital marketing and social department uses Bambu to quickly and efficiently reach large social audiences across multiple platforms in once sweep. Scheduling posts also saves a lot of time for our team.

Pros

  • Quick posts
  • Automatic scheduled posts
  • Cost well worth the saved time/effort across many clients

Cons

  • I feel overall that Bambu is a great, cohesive tool. No major changes or updates needed that I can think of.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited for both small and large businesses, multiple clients and big agencies trying to be more efficient with a high volume of customers

A Very User-Friendly Solution to Employee Social Sharing!

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Bambu internally to make it easier for our entire team of about 35 members at the time to share our marketing content with their social audiences on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. We looked into it as an alternative to GaggleAmp for our "employee advocacy" initiative. We did this in order to expand our team's social followings/thought leadership and also drive traffic.

Pros

  • GREAT UX and UI... coming off of GaggleAMP, this was felt modern, clean, and intuitive. Even just visually the tool was very appealing to interact with.Variety of notification options.
  • Integrates with Slack, Email, Texts...making it easy for users to pick what works best for them.
  • RSS feed -- automatically pulls in content so you just have to fine tune - there's even a way to have things automatically pulled in for people to use if you're on vacation or unable to manage it for a time
  • Mobile App! It's so user-friendly!

Cons

  • Analytics -- there's a lot to be desired here and would be great to see it integrate with other platforms like HubSpot.

Likelihood to Recommend

Bambu is a great solution for making it easy for your team to share content or for sharing internal messages for your team to read. With the mobile app and several notification options, it makes staying on top of the content being shared easy. I'd definitely recommend it for any team trying to build their social followings.
