The layout is hip and modern, which works fantastic for those looking to target customers that are high-end and internet savvy. It might not be necessary for someone looking for a more bare-bones service.

This recommendation depends entirely on use case. If you are looking for an enterprise level e-commerce site, look to something like Drupal 8 to solve your needs. If you desire complete control over your code at the SMB level, use WordPress. If want to spin up a site efficiently, at low cost, and know exactly what you're paying for, use Squarespace. It is by far the best e-commerce platform form small businesses.

We use Squarespace in an internal fashion (employee facing) whereas I think most users would use it to host a customer or visitor facing site. Either way, the web pages are very easy to create and update, no matter the desired outcome. If you don't have any knowledge about coding your own site, Squarespace is a great alternative to get you online.

If you're just starting a new company and can't afford to pay a web designer, Squarespace is an AMAZING way to "hang your shingle", as they say. For less than $100, I was able to reserve a domain and get a webpage on its feet. That's really incredible!
Do know, though, that their templates are highly stylized and aren't as flexible as maybe you'd like or need (it wasn't for me). I had to compromise on the look I wanted because their templates didn't quite accommodate what I had envisioned.

Artists, photographers, writers - anyone selling digital content or trying to display their work. Their site and template selections are very well suited for this type of interface, and can easily encourage sales. It is less appropriate for sites who are constantly updating their catalog, like car sales or ones which require a more extensive vetting process.

Squarespace is serious about making your website professional and secure! They offer SSL certificates for encryption, HSTS, and built-in G-Suite (Gmail emails) for our site so that we can have, say, "support@mysite.com." That is essential for any website and it solidifies your professional look. We love their integration with MailChimp and their built in Analytics to see how our customers are finding us and where our customers are from. They also provide built in social media integration, a full e-Commerce platform and SEO optimization! Their prices are also very reasonable for the services they provide!

I think Squarespace is a great option for everything from a small business to a large e-commerce website. It has so much built in and is highly customizable for your organization. The only scenario I don't see Squarespace being a good fit is for a large corporate website that has hundreds of subdomains or pages.

Squarespace is a great starter resource and a good option for a lean team who needs to get a website up cheaply using internal resources. It is intutive, requires no coding knowledge, and helps you get up a professional looking website for a small cost. It also allows you to add custom code to pages if you want to integrate other systems, like databases etc.

I think teams usually grow out of Squarespace as it doesn't allow you to create a truly customized, well-branded experience and has functionality limitations.

Squarespace has great templates for displaying a portfolio or pictures. I imagine it would suit photographers and I think restaurants would benefit from Squarespace's features as well to display bold food pictures and capture attention with full screen images. For a site more focused on eCommerce another site might do better with payment, shipping, and coupon options. I do think it would be well suited for smaller businesses with interactive scrolling pages and good mobile adaptability which an individual or a small team could easily maintain.

I think Squarespace's strengths are in two areas. First, small businesses/single freelancer types can benefit greatly. We have used third-party services which are much more difficult to manage and use. Customization and organization can largely be done on your own - and the instructions they offer are clear and helpful. Squarespace is also very cost-effective. Secondly, businesses that want a clean interface and presentation. Squarespace doesn't seem well suited for complex websites such as having a large e-commerce catalog.

It's a quick solution that doesn't require weeks of web development and generally low cost for tight budgets. Squarespace is also a great option for a simple landing page or temporary solution. I would not recommend for a high-traffic e-commerce type solution. Overall, Squarespace is a great, easy to use and cost-effective solution.

I've used Squarespace for both personal use and business use. In my opinion, if you're just looking for a portfolio for your personal website, you Squarespace might be too big of an investment. You'll be paying to use a big platform, but end up just using a few of their tools. For businesses, however, I think Squarespace is the way to go. I prefer Squarespace to many of their competitors because they have a fabulous Google Analytics integration for those who loooove data (like me!).

Squarespace is great for a corporate presence website that relies on providing beautiful content. It also allows for nicely flowing landing pages that are easy to design and modify. The system is turn key and you need only to employ a designer and copywriter. No longer is a technical resource needed to fix broken plug-ins or troubleshoot issues during upgrades.

Squarespace may not be suitable if you are in need of heavy customization of the .css or code.

Squarespace is especially good for the graphic designer or artist who simply doesn't have the time to develop an in-depth website portfolio. Most designers can attest that they are too busy designing for actual clients than polishing their own branding. While most designers would love to have their own built-from-scratch website, it really is a quick way to have a main page to direct clients too.

Squarespace is also fantastic for clients who aren't too web-savvy but want to be able to have some control behind their content.

If you have a "standard" sort of business and one of the SquareSpace templates matches the basic look and feel for what you want, this is a good choice. For example, they have some great templates for restaurants, law offices, accounting firms, and photographers. It's also a good choice if you want a simple, hassle-free experience. The system includes your hosting as well as the back-end functionality, and they can also register and manage your domain for you. A good value overall.

It is hard to make a bad website with Squarespace. Their templates are so well designed and thoughtful. However, the functionality and plugin capability is limited or non- existent, meaning you have to manually do a lot of things such as SEO research. Every website design is mobile friendly- a huge plus with Google's algorithms.

Customer service is exceptional. Another place in my review I told the story of how a woman stayed on chat with me for an hour after something random went wrong on my site that no one could explain. She was a real person with a personality, like a friend. She came up with creative solutions and made me feel calm and like we were going to solve this. She did not stop until it was back to normal.

Well suited for anyone who needs a website fast. Easy to set up with no coding experience, very flexible and customizable. Very little (or no) ongoing maintenance is required, and it's easy to move content around as needed - add/remove pages, update galleries, etc. Perfect for a very small business that needs a professional-looking web presence but lacks the resources to hire a designer.

Squarespace is great if you want to get a portfolio up and running quickly and cheaply, without knowing code. If you intend to build a big site with hundreds of portfolio pieces or blog posts, Squarespace will become time consuming as it's hard to manage them in bulk. Fine-tuning HTML & CSS seems limited.
