We utilize Starwind VSAN for all our hyper-converged deployments. Value, ease of deployment, manageability, and performance have been very good. Super easy to deploy compared to some other SDS / HC storage applications. Value wise Starwind VSAN is probably the best ROI out of the other solutions.
  • Ease of Deployment
  • Management interface
  • Documentation and support
  • performance
  • Documentation could be little better
  • Have a distributed raid option
For companies wanting a lean 2 node HC cluster Starwind VSAN is the way to go. Performance, ease of setup, reliability, and management are very good. However, If companies have more than 2 node-setups Starwind isn't the best option as it only does mirrors. Having more than 2 nodes essentially means wasting 2/3 of storage capacity. If StarWind can add distributed raids in future releases that would be perfect.
  • Ease of deployment
  • High performance
  • value on investment
  • Allowed us to go all flash for 1/5 the cost
  • Boosted end user experience due to high iops on flash
  • lowered expenses on arrays and licensees
For 2 node clusters, Starwind VSAN is the way to go. Most other solutions don't even allow 2 node set ups. For businesses looking for a solid 2 node set up with redundancy, performance, and reliability look no further.

We were looking for a cost effective way to create a cluster system running Hyper-V VMs without having to deploy an expensive NAS server. We can use local high speed Nvme storage and share between the cluster nodes.
  • Fast
  • Easy to use
  • Great support from Starwind
  • So far it meets all of our requirements
Great for businesses that need to deploy on-site servers/clusters but have limited budgets. Extremely flexible.
  • Ease of use
  • Reliable
  • Low cost
  • Excellent support
  • Makes use of lower cost local attached nvme storage
  • Not confined to configuration rules as with Storage Spaces
  • Even though we have had one host disk failure on one of the cluster nodes, there was no interruption to our users. The server was repaired and the StarWind SAN & NAS made the transition very simple.
  • There has been zero downtime since the StarWind SAN & NAS was implemented.,
We chose StarWind SAN & NAS over Microsoft Storage Spaces Direct because it was more flexible to configure.

Currently, we are using StarWind for a particular product where we are using it at a place of using storage for servers. Its functionality to mirror local hard disks and flash between hypervisor serves is really great which is also a cost-efficient solution at a place or some costly storage service.

  • Allows maintenance in zero down time.
  • Can improve documentation.
  • Can more focus on user training.
StarWind is best suited for the integration and deployment part and for the storage part as well. The product is budget-friendly and helps us to improve business agility. Can't think of negative scenarios as of now.
  • Transparent usage
  • Free migration assistance
  • Command center
  • Can't see any such negative impact so far.
