Alchemer, formerly known as Survey Gizmo, has proven to be a versatile and valuable tool for a wide range of use cases. One primary use case is within large corporations, where it is utilized for internal surveys to gather employee feedback after town-hall meetings. This allows the organization to effectively gauge employee sentiments and make informed decisions based on their input.

On a smaller scale, Alchemer is used by teams conducting process audits through on-site customer visits. By engaging with external employees using various survey tools, the software facilitates data collection for business objectives and helps strategize and plan accordingly. Furthermore, administrative teams within organizations rely on Alchemer to create forms and targeted notifications for conveying departmental needs while standardizing data collection across different departments. The software also assists in managing work orders, resource requests, equipment check-in/out, and other internal requests.

Alchemer's capabilities extend beyond internal use as well. It serves as a data collection and entry tool for statewide programs that require large volumes of data from the audience. Moreover, it has been employed for event conference registration and even collecting data for cognitive assessments by other companies.

In addition to these specific examples, Alchemer is widely deployed across various departments within businesses to run both internal and external surveys. This allows organizations to gain insights into client opinions and identify areas for improvement. The software's automation capabilities and seamless integration with marketing automation systems are particularly appreciated features among users.

Alchemer's flexibility is evident in its ability to accommodate unique survey needs across different departments, ranging from marketing research to customer support to product-related surveys. Overall, the software streamlines the survey process, provides detailed responses, and facilitates efficient data collection and analysis - ultimately solving the problem of relying solely on anecdotal information by providing concrete data-backed insights.

Seamless Integration with External Tools: Many users have praised Alchemer for its seamless integration with external tools like Salesforce, allowing for easy transfer and analysis of data. This integration has been highly appreciated by multiple reviewers, who found it to be a valuable feature that enhances their workflow.

Continuous Upgrades and Improvement: Reviewers have consistently mentioned that Alchemer provides recognizable upgrades on a regular basis, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement. This aspect of the software has given users confidence in its ability to keep up with evolving needs and technologies.

Efficient Data Analysis: Several users have found data analysis in Alchemer to be incredibly efficient. They have highlighted the ease of exporting survey results to various formats, which saves time and allows for quick and convenient use of the collected data. The efficiency of data analysis in Alchemer has been highly valued by these reviewers.

Difficulty with Mobile Surveys: Creating surveys for mobile devices on Alchemer has been challenging for some users. They have found it to be more difficult compared to other platforms, which offer a smoother experience in designing surveys specifically optimized for mobile devices.

Complex Advanced Logic: Users have expressed frustration with the complexity of advanced logic in Alchemer. Some reviewers mentioned that simple tasks like piping answers to another question require lengthy scripts, making the process more convoluted than necessary.

Inconsistent PDF Exports: The PDF exports of survey responses from Alchemer can be inconsistent and unreliable. According to several users, certain options cut off questions, rendering them unusable for printing purposes. This inconsistency poses challenges when trying to present or analyze survey data in a clear and organized manner.

Users recommend Alchemer for organizations that have the budget and specific needs. They suggest having a demo to understand its efficiency and praise the customer support for problem-solving. Additionally, users recommend Alchemer for programming simple surveys as it is user-friendly and doesn't require programming knowledge.

Users find SurveyGizmo to be the best survey platform in terms of functionality, features, cost, and responsive staff. They appreciate the software's ability to switch languages easily. Users suggest giving SurveyGizmo a try, as it is a powerful and well-designed survey and reporting tool.

SurveyMonkey is recommended by users for its straightforward interface and popularity.

  • The app has features such as logic which enhances compliance, etc.
  • The app has good inbuilt error tracking systems that are able to detect the challenges associated with some choices of question types and provides alternatives especially for calendars .
  • The global library for questions and templates makes life much easier for surveys that don't require reinventing the will.
  • I think the prices are on the higher side compared to other providers on the market.

  • Fantastic integration with external tools such as Salesforce.
  • The platform is consistently being provided with recognizable upgrades. It speaks to the continuous improvement nature of the platform.
  • Data analyzation is incredibly efficient. One can export survey results to a variety of formats for quick use.
  • New features come out often - but pricing on additional features can be quite steep.
  • Creating surveys for mobile devices has been a bit more difficult than my experience on other platforms.
  • If you update a template, your previous surveys are not automatically updated. Therefore, if you want to utilize a previous survey, you'll have to manually re-work to apply those changes.

  • Streamlines the survey process and provides quality data.
  • Provides a wide variety of question types and filtering options in order to ensure the proper questions are being asked.
  • Better improves outcomes for constituents/patients.
  • Easy to edit and reformat questions as desired.
  • Easy to navigate, export data, and create reports.
  • Duplicate protection needs improvement. Anyone who would like to start a survey and finish at a later time is unable to which limits total survey responses.
  • Password protection option can be a challenge when uploading spreadsheets with pre-populated data.
  • Logic and piping options for questions can be difficult when designing more complicated and in-depth surveys, which requires a lot of testing.
  • Follow-up surveys do not provide an option for survey takers to review their previous survey responses, which may provide less accurate data when comparing individuals across multiple surveys.
  • Would like the option to link surveys together in order to more easily track data from individuals across multiple surveys and save previous survey data.

  • Reporting capabilities, ranging from exports in Excel to visualizations
  • The ease of use. Anyone can figure out how to use the tool
  • Ability to make certain survey results private
  • Some of the questions aren't easy to manipulate in terms of how they render on the survey visually
  • More customizations for the look and feel of the survey page

  • User - friendly - intuitive.
  • Strong capabilities - able to create questions easily and logic, as well.
  • Logic - able to apply logic easily and successfully, with a high level of confidence that it will perform.
  • Advanced logic - more difficult than what it should be. If I'm piping answers to another question, I shouldn't have to create a lengthy logic script for it to perform (this is just with advanced logic).
  • Too "bubbly" of a template - I didn't like the clouds so I had mine switched to a more basic format.
  • Accounts - should be able to create different accounts for different users and separate the surveys based on the user.

  • Attaching images! Survey Gizmo makes attaching images from surveys a breeze. I've tried other popular survey tools and it can be difficult for users to submit images as part of their survey (e.g. some only allow 1 picture per question, whereas Survey Gizmo allows a range for you to select from)
  • Easy and intuitive survey building.
  • Pretty good out-of-the-box survey analysis.
  • UI speed - a bit laggy compared to primary competitors
  • Customized field names - we use data visualization software to deep dive into the data and the field names coming out of SurveyGizmo are messy! Primary competitors do it better and allow proxy names for the question.
  • PDF Exports can be a bit all over the place. Some options for PDF exports of the survey responses cut off questions and make it unusable as a print out for my leadership/account managers.

  • Besides basic features, SurveyGizmo also allows you to write your own scripts to extend the feature to a more powerful level.
  • Integration with Google Sheets and Salesforce, etc allows data to be centralized within your organization for further data analysis.
  • If you need to run apple-to-apple pre and post survey comparison, SurveyGizmo's unique URL variable feature can make that happen beautifully.
  • SurveyGizmo allows you to encrypt your survey data, which is important for us because we are dealing with a lot of PHI and need the encryption. However, by doing so, we can't search any keyword within the survey result. The work around is that we have to download the data set as an Excel file and then search from there.
  • Our organization has to follow the HIPAA laws and therefore, majorities of our surveys need to be encrypted. However, when we start any new survey, there's no way for us to default it to turn on the encryption. It is a step that's very easy to forget. Once you finish building it and start having test data, you won't be able to turn on the encryption and you have to set up a new survey instead to do so. By setting up a new survey, your survey URL is a different one. Then you always have to set up a redirect if you have already shared the old URL.
  • A lot of times when you make changes of a survey, such as adding a new question, then you use the edit link to go back to add data for that new question. However, edit link usually fails to show the new question.

  • Features - Includes features such as NPS and Max Diff.
  • Easy to Use - Very user friendly and easy to pick up.
  • Cost - great value for its capabilities.
  • Options - Multiple question types and reporting options.
  • Report sharing - Great report sharing features via email and links.
  • Could improve data sharing between projects. If you have year over year data you'd like to consolidate, the process is a bit of a hassle.
  • Occasionally have issues with the system running slow/opening files.
  • Customers occasionally complain they cannot access the survey due to too many users connecting at one time.
