Symantec VIP: a great MFA solution
- Single Sign-On (SSO) facilitates the means to allow users to have a seamless experience.
- Two-factor authentication enhances the security for authenticating users when connecting to the company's VPN.
- Mobile UI and accessibility are some of the great benefits of this product. The app is easy to use.
- Reliability on the app. Most users dislike having the authentication app on their cell phone because if they don't have their cellular device on-hand then they're unable to authenticate.
- Perhaps a bio-metric enhancement in the near future would take this application to the next level.
- The 2-step verification process is easy to use.
- The app is easy to install and set up with IT.
- Symantec VIP ensures the right person is accessing the data.
- The numbers refresh after 10-20 seconds, so it would be nicer to have a longer time frame for people to enter the information.
- The ability to manually add more devices without the need of IT would be beneficial.
- Currently, there is a limit of 4-5 per VIP devices. It would be nice to have more for those who have multiple devices for work.

Great tool for enhanced security and extra layer of protection
- The UI is intuitive and simple to use and navigate. When generating a secure token to be used for VPN access, all the navigation is clear and intuitive. There is no confusion when our users use Symantec VIP.
- Every generated token expires after 30-60 seconds, thus providing an extra layer of security and reducing any risk of someone re-using a token or pin to gain unauthorized access into our system.
- The app is super responsive and has no lag and little to no latency. Everything loads quickly and is super speedy.
- Our department can opt for a 6 digit code which we can use while logging in on different sites and SSO access can be easily set up and achieved with this tool.
- There is no option to generate an offline token which is possible in some competing products.
- Relatively more costly than other similar products. It would be good to have a more affordable plan or tier.
- The set up phase and installation is long and not as straightforward, a little confusing and should be easy so users can get up and running quickly.
- For some users the interface is too small, it would be nice to have an option to resize.

Symantec VIP Review for a Tech Guy
- UI is concise and simple. We have no issue using VIP for VPN Access as it is simple and fast. Required buttons are right in front and avoid any ambiguity.
- It is fast! There is no lag or waiting for a pin number to be generated.
- Notification: Each pin generated times out in 30-60 seconds, which is excellent and provides another layer of security.
- Setup was also pretty easy and fast. We have had no issues.
- User Interface is small and there is no option to change this. Which is not a problem for most users but there have been a few complaints.
- Add an option of dynamically resizing the GUI. Not a major issues but would help aging eyes.
- Offline Token would be a great addition.
- Fast to load
- Can easily copy the code
- Can be easily installed on multiple devices
- I would like to see better integration. Right now, you have to copy the code and paste it into the login box. The program should be able to automatically detect the token and log you in.
- It is a hassle to add new tokens. You need to know a token for a current device before adding a new one, and you may not have access to a current device depending on the situation.

- VIP access manager is great at managing multiple users simultaneously.
- VIP access manager can be accessed from the web, the browser-based interface makes it easy to connect.
- when setting a token to a phone call, the phone calls often take a minute + to call the user.
- When Symantec's VIP app is removed or reinstalled on a phone, the credential ID will change, and that dictates a call to the helpdesk to allow the user access.
- Temporary security codes while handy, must be set to expire immediately to stay secure.
