Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

I give this rating because Tableau can create dynamic and visually appealing dashboards/reporting. It is intuitive enough that beginners can create a basic dashboard but flexible to the point that developers/scriptwriters can fully utilize everything the tool has to offer. I also believe that Tableau is innovative and always improving the product.

It's a highly customizable tool, and I'm a visual learner. So in that sense, it's been great to help communicate, visualize trends, etc. The implementation (so I have heard from my team) was a little time intensive and there wasn't a ton of support offered, however the payoff was worth it in my opinion.

It is very well equipped with all the latest functionalities required for report generation, predictive analytics and the map-based reporting as well. There is a large set of options for connecting to different types of data sources. In terms of usability, it is very attractive but a little bit intimidating to a fresh user.

With a relatively small, simple learning curve, users can quickly begin visualizing and understanding their data. More advanced calculations can be accomplished by engaging with the robust, helpful user community. Tableau also offers excellent one-on-one resources to customers at the annual Tableau Customer Conference to assist with more advanced functionality.

Tableau Desktop was easy to learn how to use. It is an intuitive tool and I became proficient with it in a relatively short period of time. It has very good reporting capabilities, I was able to create nice dashboards and it has a lot of features you can choose from.

I'm giving Tableau a 7 as I think it's a great product but definitely has some room to grow to make it's mark in the market place. I'd definitely purchase it again because they've been great about keeping their product up to date with the times and I actually enjoy using it for sharing my information.

It is easy to learn and even beginners can create basic visualizations. There is a ton of learning material online if you get stuck. The [Tableau] user groups are also helpful where they even help you to solve a problem.

Tableau is easily approachable for even a novice data user to get started. Building out a simple dashboard from data pulled from a couple of spreadsheets or other data sources is relatively easy. However, it can get complicated in a hurry, even for BI developers. So initial use and relatively simple use-cases, easy. But the learning curve can get steep as you try to develop more complex calculations and models.

Tableau Desktop is easy to learn and fairly easy to implement. We really like the visuals Tableau Desktop creates. It is an expensive tool, so smaller companies should see if it's cost-effective for them to purchase, especially if there aren't multiple data sources involved. If there are various data sources, Tableau Desktop is a good choice to use, since it has a lot of built in support for various data sources.

Tableau [Desktop's] interface is clean, minimalistic, and does a good job of hiding more complicated features so that the average user can get to work quickly and easily. As users become more proficient with the software, more features and customization become available, but they don't have to interact with those Advanced features from the get-go. Some scripting is available as well; the one area where this is week is in variable assignment.

It's easy to use, learn, filter data, and share dashboards. The chart templates querying capabilities, and color palettes are great. It is a very good tool when it comes to SQL query writing, filtering data, and blending data from multiple sources.

I am really a fan of tableau for its quick setup, data connection, dashboard creation time and very easy to use UI.
As i have used multiple Bi tools like QlikView and SAP BO, i can say all other tools take really long time in performing above functionalities except QlikView which is really fast in term of performing analysis.

To perform a visualization, the data is needed, they can be in different sites: servers, internet, different formats: SQL, excel, acces, in both cases Tableau Desktop is able to interoperate with them and make them available to the operator so that the work is very easy, the only thing that you should have is some basic knowledge of the database to start using it, if the objective is to use it for BI or BD or to make infographics or executive or alert reports because it is necessary to master them relevant concepts to those areas of knowledge.

Most of the user interface and usability is completely intuitive. It makes one look like they are a better analytics designer than they really are. The ability to connect easily to a wide variety of data sources without needing an interim extract, universe or catalog is a massive time and aggravation saver.

It is far better than Excel or other visualization tools, but some of the manipulations of data tables, visualizing underlying data, and more novel visualization methods (dragging dimensions to colors or shapes) behave a bit non-intuitively. The custom logic for field calculation could use a more robust script editor. The definition of multi-table SQL joins using the data import / query builder was pretty rudimentary at the time -- it was easier to create the desired extract or table subset as a set of temp tables or CSVs if the data required complex joins. But overall it is very usable.

There is a learning curve but they have dozens of videos to step you through projects which are a great start for anyone. They are nice and short but cover a specific area with linkages to the next video in the series. I've often fired up one similar to a new project of mine and simply stepped through it. This is where you get the boss to give you a large second (or even third) monitor to boost your productivity. If she doesn't then start looking for a better place to work!

Simple, quick and easy to create simple outputs for the novice; very capable to scale up and get really complex for the expert (Desktop version).
Some quirks around how calculations work need research/training.
