Tableau Online has become an essential tool for organizations across various departments, providing valuable data analysis and visualization capabilities. Users from the Digital Marketing department rely on Tableau Online to accurately track lead and sale counts, as well as credit pass reports. By analyzing campaign performance and identifying areas for improvement, users are able to focus their time effectively and make data-driven decisions. The software also integrates seamlessly with web analysis tools, allowing for incident and defect analysis within the organization.

Tableau Online's strength lies in its ability to provide excellent KPI graphics and executive summaries, making it a valuable tool for data visualization and analysis. Users can easily customize reports to meet their specific needs, and the software also offers live data visualizations, ensuring that users always have access to up-to-date information. Vivint, for example, utilizes Tableau as a platform to centralize lead, sale, and install data, creating custom dashboards that display conversion rates and call center metrics.

Another key use case for Tableau Online is generating daily, monthly, and annual reports in the analytics department. The software provides powerful data insights that help drive business decisions. It is particularly useful for data integration with other software systems, serving as a bridge between data teams and business/product teams by presenting data in ways that stakeholders can understand and use effectively.

Sales representatives also benefit from Tableau Online as they can track their performance and commission through the software. It acts as the front-end to the in-house sales commission system. Additionally, Tableau Online promotes collaboration within organizations by facilitating data sharing and visualization.

The analytics and reporting team extensively uses Tableau Online for automated sharing of reports across various verticals. Similarly, partners of Tableau Software leverage this tool to advise customers on usage, implementation, and support.

Tableau Online has revolutionized product launches by providing dynamic online visualizations that were not possible with traditional presentation tools like PowerPoint. It enables different departments to present complex reporting in a visually pleasing and easy-to-understand manner.

In addition to marketing and sales, Tableau Online finds applications in HR, procurement, trade, security, and other business areas. It helps track the impact of projects, investigate whether design goals are being met, and provides valuable business intelligence through visualizations and exploration of key metrics.

Overall, Tableau Online is a versatile tool that addresses a wide range of business problems and enables organizations to make informed decisions based on data insights.

It is suitable for people without coding background and still prefer to use interactive graphs to show the data insights. However, if you already know many packages in R or Python you can easily build the dashboard or the interactive graph yourself without paying quite a lot to use this tool.

We just need to refresh our data once a day for our unique use case, which allows the complete online system to run on extracts. For us, this is critical because our daylight hours are spent focusing on new updates and implementations rather than worrying about excessive database traffic (which would be required with a direct connection to the online system). The process of importing extracts is straightforward and sturdy enough to handle massive amounts of data.

Tableau Online is well suited for companies with large datasets and a need to drill down into that data, as well as summarize it in a convenient way, and to then share that data summary. It would be less appropriate for a company that does not make use of data.

Tableau [Online] is very strong for solid, standardized reporting among a variety of different dimensions. It's easy to understand and navigate for regular users. There is also a wide variety of charts and visualizations to chose from which makes it relatively easy to tell the story beyond the numbers. Tableau [Online] is less suited for ad-hoc reporting.

In our specific use case, we only require a once a day refresh of our data which allows the entire online system to operate off of extracts. That is very important as we use our daytime working hours to work on feature updates and implementation items rather than having to worry about any extra load on our database (which would be required with a direct connection to the online system). Importing the extracts is rather seamless and robust enough to handle large volumes of data.

Scenarios where Tableau Online would be less appropriate is where there is a high need to export and distribute data and reports. That functionality is rather limited in the online system.

Tableau Online is great boon for the people who keep on travelling and now they don't require to access their laptops in order to access the latest information or reports. Further, with Tableau Online, it's easy to distribute the reports and one can use different cuts within a report as per their requirements.
Also, in organizations where data is sensitive and one department's data should not be accessible to others, Tableau Online works wonders as now the report owner/administrator can manage the access to each individual report or workbooks within a report as well.

Literally anything involving data analytics, computational and statistical modeling and/or building algorithms this product is suited for it. It takes in highly complex formulas and the output can be an incredibly engaging visual model that's easy to understand across various stakeholders. Using it to track and measure against established KPIs has been a great benefit and Tableau makes it easy to do so.

This is a great piece of software for organizations looking to gain insights on the great data they spend so much time and money gathering at the highest levels possible. This is not something for someone looking for something simple like what you might be able to achieve with a simple database. This truly shines when bringing in multiple databases and stores of information.

Tableau Online is well suited for taking a large amount of data sources and combining them into a single, understandable representation of the data, in the form of dashboards and graphical representation as long as these are regular. It is less suited to adjusting to ad hoc reporting or one offs.

[Tableau Online] is a very robust tool and allows you to create reports for all different levels of your organization. And with it's ability to extract data from so many different tools, you can easily pull in data from many different systems to give you a single report. You can also easily filter dashboards to show different levels versus having to edit. Once up and running, it is really pretty easy to generate dashboards.

Pretty much the best option for performing data visualization on large data warehouses and data lakes. Infinitely scalable and integrations with many 3rd party tools. Creates visualizations that both technical and non-technical stakeholders can rally around. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to improve their business intelligence.

Tableau is really useful for merchandising the website and homepage. If I have no clue what to feature, I can easily open the software and search which categories or items are performing the highest and also make sure I have enough inventory to support it. I guess it would be less helpful if I were searching a specific item because I would have to do a lot of filtering since there is no search capability.

Tableau is very well suited for any saas company. Being able to track usage data for millions of users and then crunch that data/make it digestible and relevant, is invaluable. It helps you understand your users better, make better product decisions, spot opportunities for growth within existing accounts, and overall provide the best experience for your customers.

I think the whole service is suitable for people who don't have the time or resources to build a real-time analytics engine and integrate it with their product or service. You get a ready-made platform where you can instantly create insightful reports of your client's usage of your service and share them with multiple stakeholders.

I am probably very likely to recommend Tableau to a colleague or someone from an agency or outside organization we deal with who is looking to find a tool that will help them consolidate and visualize their data. Tableau is mostly user friendly, so it may not be for everyone, but great for those who are looking to be more data driven.

Tableau Online is well suited for:
  • Improving business process outcomes
  • Continued innovation on analytics stack

Given the licensing costs it could be a bit cost prohibitive for organization to truly be able to bring it across the entire enterprise

Overall I think Tableau Online does a good job for data visualization and dashboard creation for both internal and external use. We haven't had issues connecting to our data sources so this seems to be a good option if weekly/monthly reports or dashboards need to be made available to multiple stakeholders across departments. Probably better for cases where you already have infrastructural or organizational support for Tableau since ramping up might be time-consuming if the team is new to Tableau. Also probably only necessary if visualizations need to be shared across organizations or departments since for small teams, the desktop version would suffice especially at the beginning.

I would definitely recommend Tableau Online if asked by a colleague. It has so many great features. Of course it is not a perfect system, but no system is perfect, right? But if you need a database to house your data, this is one of, if not the best, I have ever used. The mobile version is great when using a larger mobile device, but it is not as convenient when on a smaller device like an iPhone.

Tableau is a great tool for data analytics and data visualization. I have worked with multiple companies and all of them have used Tableau Online for their dashboard. One thing that particularly suited me is how user friendly it is, even for someone who does not have much interaction with Tableau on a day to day basis. I highly recommend Tableau.

Tableau Online is good for a broader view of company data and performance. It is not suited for digging into campaign specifics such as listening to phone calls or tracking phone numbers. Tableau Online is also good for viewing past data, but not day-of data.

Tableau can handle large amounts of data very easily and efficiently. Different types of visualization can be created with a large amount of data without impacting the performance of the tool. Python and R can be used in Tableau for complex calculation. It can be easily implemented within a organization. Using Drag and Drop option you can create interactive visualization.

Tableau is a good tool for sharing in-depth reports with large groups, and allows a great amount of control over the display of information. Tableau reports hold a lot of information.
