What TrustRadius Research Says

Teamviewer Pricing 2022

Tech support in the age of remote work is something glorious–if you have the right software. Instead of waiting on the IT person to arrive, now they can access devices remotely and diagnose issues just as effectively as physically being there. Anyone who has tried to describe computer problems to an expert over the phone knows what a hassle this saves.

Unless of course the keyboard is noticeably sticky because the real issue is no one wants to admit they spilled orange soda everywhere. We’re looking at you, Paul.

One of the best software that offers both communication and screen sharing is TeamViewer. You can access any remote computer with their feature-rich platform and strong built-in security.

What is TeamViewer?

TeamViewer is a remote access software that IT support teams can connect to employee or client computers, and provide the necessary support. The software allows screen sharing and audio sharing over a secure and personal connection.

TeamViewer can be integrated with Okta, Atlassian, Salesforce, Microsoft Intune, and more. The software is designed to have versatile functionality and ease of use with a variety of different operating systems (OS).

These include OS for common mobile devices like Android and iOS. It works on open source systems like Linux and more niche ones like Raspberry Pi. The software, of course, works on Mac, Windows, and Chrome OS.

Remote support or remote desktop software like TeamViewer offers streamlined communication and collaboration while fixing bugs or training a new recruit that lives a thousand miles away. You can also use software like this for IT remote help desks that offer services for customer support.

TeamViewer offers two versions of their support solution. One is their free version, ready for download right now. You will be able to use the remote computer software with video conferencing, messaging, and screen sharing. You cannot use their free software for financial gain. It’s compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux.

TeamViewer Pricing Model for Commercial Use

TeamViewer pricing for IT service providers includes 4 plans, each either for ‘single users’ or ‘teams.’ There are no month-to-month pricing options available, all are billed annually. All plans come with strong security features like two-factor authentication and encryption. The license versions are offered for multiple operating systems, see download versions here. For a 14 day free trial of the business software you can go here.

$206.90 per month billed annually.

TeamViewer Remote Access Base allows 3 managed devices but it’s for 1 license. It has one concurrent connection and does not come with video conferencing or integrations. It’s meant to be a basic plan for one person offering their services.

TeamViewer Business is considered the best value plan. This plan has most of the TeamViewer features and allows for 200 managed devices, unlimited device connections, but still for 1 license. This would be best for small businesses teams with one IT user or freelancers that work with a larger number of clients.

TeamViewer Premium is the first team plan and has up to 15 licensed users. You still only have 1 concurrent connection, but it comes with 300 managed devices and unlimited devices to connect to and from. It has video conferencing and allows limited software integrations.

It also comes with cross-platform access, remote printing, VPN and other remote work functions. They have admin and user features as well, including file sharing and mass deployment. This plan is great for startups and small businesses to solve hundreds of client problems, but doesn't require tons of integrations.

TeamViewer Corporate is considered the best valve plan because it comes with almost every feature for remote work, admin access, device management, and collaboration. It has more software integration features as well, but does not include Zoho, Salesforce and a few others. This is great for larger businesses that work with a wide range of clients and want to offer premium service. Those that want this plan would feel that they don't need all possible integrations or features to deliver the best customer experience.

TeamViewer’s Enterprise plan, which is also called TeamViewer Tensor, comes with just about everything, especially software integrations. Pricing is not offered directly, and you can view the plan here and contact sales for more information.

TeamViewer Alternatives

VNC Connect also has a free version of remote support software. It is also limited to personal use just like TeamViewer. Their free download can be accessed here and has more OS options than TeamViewer for their software including Solaris, AIX, and HP-UX.

VNC Connect is simpler and less feature-rich than TeamViewer. They’re also less expensive. VNC offers two plans, each with very specific use cases. Device Access is for remote IT temas providing support for other employees. Instant Support is designed for service desk technicians pricing remote support as a paid service.

VNC Connect Commercial Plans

Device Access

Instant Support

$3.39 per managed device per month, billed annually,

$16.99 per user per month, billed annually.

Device Access comes with unlimited concurrent sessions and users, and is priced per managed device. Instant Support is a secure cloud with unlimited endpoints, and is priced per user, users being each technician providing service.

VNC connect is the better choice if you don’t want all the bells and whistles and prefer very straightforward plans. TeamViewer is great for teams that advertise premium services and or work with clients that use complex devices and programs.

If you find that you’re still hung up between the two, do a test run with their free versions. That way you’re saved a sales pitch and able to explore. One small reminder is your antivirus might warn you about downloading either of these software. This is because of the nature of the software, it allows another user remote control of your computer. It’s not a virus it’s just warning you what the software does.
