We currently use Teamviewer to provide support to our staff. It is easy to use, manage, and set up. It solved our problem with providing immediate support at any time of day for any of our staff. I currently use it for personal purposes as well as professional usage at work.
  • Very lightweight and minimal resources with older PCs
  • Easy to use and set up
  • Very stable connection and almost no lag
  • The new look is too big, takes up the whole screen on computers with small screens, whereas the older version was smaller and compact.
  • To set up unattended access you have to go deep into the settings
  • It could use a different method of login instead of creating an account
For me, its been great for providing support to other users with less experience since it is easy to download and install. It is well suited for beginners as well as advanced users.
Setting up can take a bit of time specially unattended access since you must create an account and all.

I used TeamViewer in mainly two cases: Firstly, to access a remote machine with archived documents, since working in a remote environment, many old work files remained on computers in the company's office. And secondly, grant access to IT support to resolve common day-to-day problems on my machine, such as updates and security configurations required by the company and software installation as well.

TeamViewer is robust remote access software full of features and collaboration tools like transferring files, hosting meetings and presentations, and of course remote control and remote access. Everything that needs to be done on a computer by a distant operator, no matter where he is, can be done through TeamViewer.

With our company now working almost 100% remotely, TeamViewer is an essential tool when helping our staff work through technical issues and program installations. The installer is easy enough for just about any user to use, and you can connect using the simple credentials that appear on the screen. (ID and password). It's a piece of software we use on a daily basis.
  • Super easy for just about any user to install
  • Options for manual/single use and automatic remote control
  • Free option available for end users
  • Price point may seem high for smaller organizations
  • Unable to share large files
  • Different versions of TeamViewer are often incompatible, requiring manual updating
With the global pandemic changing how we work and interact, remote control tools are more essential than ever. Over the last 18 months we have migrated most of our staff to working fully remotely. TeamViewer makes it easy to continue to support their software and technical support needs while maintaining physical distancing or supporting workers in remote areas. Our users prefer to launch TeamViewer only as needed, so their PCs are not always open for connection. The program however also supports automatic connectivity, which is great for maintaining our automation PCs and servers.

I have several computers in different locations as part of my work routine. Sometimes, I'm at one location, and I need to access one of my computers that's at a different location. That's when I use TeamViewer.
  • Full access to the remote computer's screen.
  • Access to files on the remote computer.
  • Setting up TeamViewer is never easy. I always get it wrong a few times before I finally get it right.
  • I trust the security features in TeamViewer, but I'm sure that the presence of TeamViewer on a computer opens some security vulnerabilities.
I may have a non-standard use case for TeamViewer. On the TeamViewer Web site, the emphasis seems to be TeamViewer for meetings. I imagine that TeamViewer is great for meetings where people need to share control of one of their computers. But for my purposes, when I'm helping students to use their computers, the sharing facilities in Zoom are sufficient and less intrusive. On the other hand, if I need remote access to a remote computer for the purpose of getting work done on that remote computer, TeamViewer is excellent.

We use it to remote into end user computers for the company. We also have a select few users that are outside of IT that use TeamViewer Full Client for remoting into their desktops that work from home. Some occasions we use Teamviewer to run remote scripts and remote file browser but only if we are trying to fix things in the background without interrupting the user from their work.
  • Remote Console view to fix issues on users laptops
  • Auto config and auto install
  • Organization in UI of computers with TeamViewer installed
  • Easy to make groups of computers that others can access based on access controls
  • There are ads that pop every now and then. I get ads but not really on an already paid product
  • I wish you could do a batch script install. Where you could select multiple computers to run one script on at once, instead of one by one.
  • I wish you could edit users within the Desktop Client instead of having to go to the web app to manage.
Overall TeamViewer is very reliable, and really easy to setup and use. Out of the 7 years I think TeamViewer only had network/server issues probably 3 times. The clients are secured with passwords for remote access (Multiple passwords can be set, for multiple people to be able to access). We use the program several times a day and is an essential software to have for us to give good and prompt customer service.

In our organization, we leverage TeamViewer as a powerful remote access and support solution that significantly enhances our operational efficiency and collaboration. TeamViewer plays a crucial role in several aspects of our business operations.

One key area where TeamViewer proves invaluable is in remote technical support. Our IT team utilizes the platform to connect to employees' devices, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely assistance, regardless of their physical location. This has dramatically reduced downtime and increased the overall productivity of our workforce.

Additionally, TeamViewer serves as a central tool for remote collaboration. Our team members often need to collaborate on projects or access shared resources from different geographical locations. TeamViewer's secure and reliable connection enables seamless file transfers, desktop sharing, and collaborative problem-solving, fostering a more connected and efficient work environment.

  • File Transfer and Sharing
  • Secure Remote Access
  • Cost Structure

Well-Suited Scenarios for TeamViewer

Remote IT Support: TeamViewer excels in providing remote IT support. IT professionals can troubleshoot issues, install software, and perform system maintenance without being physically present, leading to faster issue resolution and reduced downtime.

Collaborative Work on Documents: TeamViewer is well-suited for collaborative work on documents and projects. Multiple users can connect to a shared session, allowing them to collaborate in real-time, share screens, and work together on documents.

Less Appropriate Scenarios for TeamViewer:=

Highly Restricted Network Environments:In environments with extremely restrictive network policies or firewalls, setting up TeamViewer connections may pose challenges. In such cases, alternative solutions that better accommodate network restrictions may be considered.

Extremely Low-Bandwidth Situations:While TeamViewer is designed to work in various network conditions, extremely low-bandwidth situations may lead to suboptimal performance. Users in areas with consistently poor internet connectivity might face challenges in achieving a smooth remote access experience.

We are an IT company. We use TeamViewer to support our clients. Clients call us and then we use TeamViewer to assist them with the solution to the problem.

We also use TeamViewer (host) on servers, so we can login to the servers anytime we want.

TeamViewer is also able to assist in other ways. It can run Windows updates, do backups and more. Currently we are not using these options.
  • Assist customers with problems
  • Connect to servers anytime
  • User/rights management
  • Reports with connections
  • Since the last update the program crashes more then usual, did go back to the 'old' interface, which works great. I'm sure that the new interface wil work great also soon, if not already.
  • Prices are pretty high.
Great management interface. You can make groups with rights. You're also able to make customized clients. Reports of connections are available.

For our support staff it's easy to connect to our customers. No more need to exchange passwords.

For our engineers it's easy to connect to servers unattended at all times.

I use TeamViewer extensively in our organization to facilitate remote collaboration. It effectively addresses issues related to remote troubleshooting, allowing seamless access to computers and servers. This has proven invaluable for resolving technical issues promptly. The scope of our use case extends to remote support, file transfers, and collaborative work on projects, making TeamViewer an integral part of our daily operations.
  • Remote work

  • Peer to peer remote explanation
  • Usability with ipads
  • Responsiveness with shortcuts

TeamViewer earns a 10 for its user-friendly interface, robust security features, and exceptional performance in remote access and support. Its versatility, whether for troubleshooting technical issues or collaborating on projects, has greatly enhanced our productivity. The stability and ease of use make it a standout choice, justifying a strong recommendation to colleagues seeking reliable remote collaboration tools.

I use Teamviewer almost exclusively to provide remote support for users of the small family of niche tax software applications that we author. Very frequently, if a user is having trouble with something, it's FAR easier to diagnose and fix when we can actually SEE the problem (versus just talking about it on the phone). Teamviewer allows us to do that pretty easily.
  • Brand familiarity - I find that even if one of our users hasn't used Teamviewer before, they've heard of it.
  • General ease of use - having a user to load and execute the quick support module on their end (for me to remote in) is pretty straightforward.
  • Connection visibility - the remote user knows when I'm connected - and when I'm not.
  • It seems that I've had previous trouble with users trying to load the quick support module only to find that their machine already had Teamviewer installed. It would be nice if the full install and the quick support modules were unaware of each other.
  • As one who has used Teamviewer for a while, the 'new interface' was (is) pretty confusing. I find myself switching back to the old one regularly when I can't find something I'm looking for in a hurry.
So far, I've really not found an instance where Teamviewer is less appropriate - it works well in every instance that I've used it for. Once again, my primary use for Teamviewer is providing remote support to users of a small family of niche tax software applications that we author. When I need to remotely connect to a user, they generally seem familiar with and trust Teamviewer to be used on their systems.

I would use teamviewer to transfer files, print documents at the office from a remote location, access files from my desktop on my laptop for reference or information needed that was not readily available on my laptop. I would also use it to correct PC issues with friends and family.
  • access files remotely
  • connect to anyone anywhere
  • works well over smaller bandwidth
  • easier connectivity to VPN systems within our company
  • security integration with my current security software
Teamviewer was great when it was able to be used under a free service. In my opinion, cost and inability to integrate into our security software has made Teamviewer unable to be used

I actively use Teamviewer to remotely assist not only company employees with technical issues, but the members of our business as well. I remote in to their systems as required on an almost daily basis (for different members across the country) to install software, and remotely troubleshoot.
  • Remote access
  • Quickservice application for easy connections
  • Session codes that can be emailed to users
  • The new user interface is rather large, and to easily see everything you have to maximize the app or have a large screen
  • New application was crashing on previously installed hardware, only resolved when I upgraded to another PC
One hundred percent would recommend. I have used others and the ease of use and familiarity of the UI keeps me coming back every time. I have tested the others and there is a comfort to using Teamviewer since I have been using it since its inception. My supervisor and the CEO of my company asked if I wanted to keep it when renewal time came up and i was adamant that we keep it.

We used TeamViewer to connect with multiple teams across organisations as it made people from different teams to access ones device remotely. During Covid it was really helpful as most of the team members were working from home. The remote desktop sharing is hassle free and does not get hanged in between thereby giving a very smooth impression while performing different tasks.
  • Remote Desktop Sharing
  • Resolving Issues on Remote systems
  • Screen Sharing

  • Cost can be a bit low
  • The Occasional Connection Issues can be improved
The user friendly User Interface allows a new team member to use it without any training. The kind of Security Team Viewer provides is really helpful to maintain confidentiality and protect critical information while the user is on remote desktop sharing mode.

I need to login some end-user computers remotely to assist them in general helpdesk issues like printing problems, issues related to integrations between specialized software (like accounting and tax programs and PDF software for document printing, form filling, signatures, etc.), issues with web browsers when it comes to fill out forms, sign documents, etc.
  • Fast remote access on slow Internet connections
  • File transfer
  • No password remote access when integrated with RMMs
  • Remote printing
  • Slow remote access with multiple monitors
  • The tab showing somebody is accessing the end-user computer can be easily dismissed resulting on closing the remote session
It is pretty fast when it comes to access remote computers on slow Internet connections.

When integrated with RMM software, you do not to remember the end-user TeamViewer password that TeamViewer generates every 4 hours.

TeamViewer tends to crash on Windows Server machines and it will show the servers as offline when they are not.

Remote printing is not as reliable as with other remote access software like LogMeIn.

It is slow when using multiple monitors

We mostly utilize TeamViewer for remote access of digital sign feed computers that have no end user at them for troubleshooting and authorization/login, but have also used it for remote support for users who are on the road and not physically accessible. It is most helpful for us when there is an issue with a computer that has no user at it at any given time.
  • Remote Computer Control
  • No access control/login
  • Simplified Interface
  • Remote Wake
  • Notifications of computer not available for access
Most suited for users' devices who are not available physically for troubleshooting. Also it is most suited for remote control of devices where no user is present in order to allow remote access or login.

We usually use it to access our remote employees systems for installtion, setting and other purposes. This product allows us to have full access of all the activites that our employees perform on their systems while being able to be connected over a voice call and video chat with the employees simultaneously which makes it a lot more easier for the technical team to look after all the issues that they have to address.

I am an IT Service Desk Analyst and my role is to support our staff and students with IT issues with software and equipment. We assist staff and students via TeamViewer for:

1. Remote Support - When a user logs a job about a particular issue we can conveniently take control of their device to be able to diagnose and fix simple issues without the need to make a site visit. This allows us to be more efficient and able to fix more problems within a shorter period of time leading to greater user satisfaction.

2. Software demonstrations/training: We also assist our users with using various pieces of software. Teamviewer is a fantastic tool as it is easy to take control of a device and screen share to demonstrate software functionality and how to use certain features of the software. The tool also allows you to record the session for audit purposes and also to allow users to reference the training or demonstration to look back on in the future.
  • Remote access
  • Chat functionality
  • Screen sharing and recording
  • The chat box interface can be improved
  • Reconnection sometimes isn't the best experience if the connection at the users end is unstable
  • Increased connection time for the free version
Easy screen sharing allows better understanding and auditing of remote sessions which is especially useful if you have a remote support charter in place. It is also easy to use the chat functionality in case whoever you are helping does not have access to a phone. Initiation and connection to a device with stable Internet connection is painless.

We use TeamViewer application to support our users via remote connection, accessing their device over the internet. Regardless of the operating system, (either Server OS or Client OS) the application work seamlessly. A tool you can rely on its security, and we never faced any kind of slowness or freezing while supporting our users over remote networks. We also use this tool to connect our servers when IT admins are travelling, and it also overcomes the bit slowness of remote vpn connections.
  • Seamless Remote Access of system
  • Unattended access for support
  • Secure file transfer
  • capable to execute Remote Wake on LAN
  • Remote printing features
  • add additional feature to work without interactive login.
  • improvement in connection over low bandwidth
  • licensing price needs to be reconsidered
  • should be able to connect with earlier versions if any one end user is not updated to latest
A great tool for supporting remote users on any version of windows, also other OS is supported. We used it over Windows OS and could deliver lot of support activities on system remote support, if required changes to be made in the system, executing application updates or changes with admin privileges, download or upload of files securely and no lagging if connected over an average good bandwidth.
