We now primarily use it when other vendors require us to for support reasons. We don't actively use this on a daily basis.

We prefer to use other products due to security concerns. It has become very hard to secure access to TeamViewer unless you pay for the most expensive enterprise license.
  • Remote support toolset is fully featured
  • Consistent, easy and familiar user interface
  • Performance is good
  • Pricing and licensing
  • SSO missing on basic plans
  • Security, loved by threat actors
I would recommend an alternative product. TeamViewer has become too expensive and lacks SSO on lower cost plans. It is disappointing Teamviewer ended up going in this direction and I think it shows now with its usage dropping off. Especially since Teams and Zoom can offer much of its functionality. Alternatively RMM tools also offer this functionality with the addition of patching and device management.

We use TeamViewer to provide technical support to some of our customers.
  • Provides system level access to client PCs.
  • Provides unattended access.
  • We can reconnect after a reboot.
  • Needs a compatible version.
  • Needs to be installed on both connecting systems.
  • There's no free client version.
TeamViewer, if available on both connecting systems, is the best remote access service. It is particularly suited when multiple people are actively looking at the remote system.

I own a small SMB IT company that remotes into almost all of my clients using current version 15. I either install Host mode, so I have access 24/7, or for smaller clients, I use the basic Teamviewer download. I started with Teamviewer back in 2007, version 3, and have, over the years, upgraded my version to 15, which works great for me & my clients.
  • Remote access.
  • Fast connections.
  • Secure connections.
  • Simple interface.
  • I use basic features with no issues.
  • Nothing comes to mind.
I have it installed on a few clients' Servers, and it's nice to be able to remote in on the weekend and do updates when the office is closed. I also like the feature that allows me thru the web to connect and help a client out when in the field.

Team viewer is used to remotely assist customers with computer repair and maintenance issues. The product is outstanding in quality, with great ease of use and excellent security features.
  • Remote access.
  • File transfer,
  • Screen recording,
  • Ease of use,
  • Ability to change device accessing remote computers - difficult to find confirmation of devices assigned (max of 3 is ok) , because I use more than three devices to remotely access customers; I am disappointed that there is a limit to how many changes per year can be made, and the ambiguity of this restriction (i.e., what is the count for device changes already made).
Well-suited for customers needing remote software/operating system assistance. Less appropriate for hardware diagnosis and repair.

We use this application for remote service and support of our installed products. Additionally, we use this product for remote access to internal training and development systems.
  • Connects relatively easily.
  • Easy to add devices that are regularly accessed.
  • Easy to download and upload files to remote sites.
  • Good at managing users.
  • It seems uncertain at times how we can use the same account on both ends.
  • Leave out the advertising.
Teamviewer can be a learning curve when it comes to security and passwords. It can take some time to figure out how to keep the password persistent. This is necessary for shared machines. Some companies frown on VNC when using TeamViewer for training activities. This can be a challenge when trainees are dialing in from India.

We run 40+ Point of Sale and a similar number of Mobile Point of Sale stations, ~40 headless mini-PCs running videos, 250 computers, laptops, and desktops at 9 locations, and serve a number of remote workers. We use Teamviewer to manage them, perform troubleshooting, apply updates and patches, guide users, perform training, etc. Teamviewer is the primary tool I use, although I have used others like Splashtop in the past.
  • Easy Access remoting in (and notifying users).
  • Controls and access to the end point system.
  • Sorting machines by type, function, and organizational unit.
  • The ability to send command line requests and troubleshooting without fully logging in when a connection is spotty or drops unexpectedly.
  • As mentioned above, with spotty connections, it would be nice if, while performing a file transfer and the connection fails, Teamviewer would automatically attempt to reconnect and resume the transfer if it had not been completed.
  • permission inheritance, I was made a company admin, and for a number of devices, I only have easy access. increasing my permissions has had to be done manually for each device in the group.
Teamviewer is a pretty solid tool and is an industry standard for a reason. Other tools have some features that I have found to be particularly useful, such as Splashtop's ability to drag files from my desktop into the remote session and begin a file transfer, which has been a lifesaver with things like disseminating license keys, updates, and patches for various software art packages and so on and so forth.

We use TeamViewer to remotely access remote computers to control their desktop and help troubleshoot application issues. We also use it to transfer files as needed to support the computer. The ease of use is one of the main benefits of TeamViewer. We do not use the audio and video features of Teamviewer.
  • Easy to use encryption while remotely connected
  • Ease of connecting to the other computer
  • Provides logging of remote access
  • Transferring files between computer
  • Better connectivity performance
  • Updates to TeamViewer are hard to navigate and remain consistent
  • Support of multi-users
  • The UI is clunky
TeamViewer is well suited for environments where a quick remote session is needed to remotely control the user's desktop. It can transfer files needed to help troubleshoot the remote connection.

TeamViewer is not well-suied for larger issues on the remote computer where additional IT support is needed to fix the issue.
It is also not well-suited for larger issues that require more time since the performance can be laggy.

It is used sparingly, but when necessary, it is incredibly useful and allows us access quickly and efficiently. When users are having issues but are not near the main office, this has been most useful, and it is very light on the systems.
  • Screenshare
  • Quick simple access.
  • Easy to allow the assister to control of the system.
  • Super light on the systems we put it on.
  • Access can be a little clunky in terms of passwords and access like that.
  • A lot of clicks to access the download link on the site.
When users are off traveling for events and things, it has been hugely helpful to assist with issues. It has been smoother to use in that respect than Zoom or Teams. When users ask for something they can use to help their families, this is actually what I suggest due to ease of use and speed.

We are an MSP and connect to many servers and end-user workstations. It is sometimes difficult to keep accurate inventory of all our devices, and connect to them when needed. Our biggest needs include needing to connect to servers in many different locations, and support end-users while they are showing us a problem on their screen. It is often very difficult to have someone describe a problem to us, so the ability to jump on their computer and assist is very helpful.
  • Instant and quick connection to any device, with very little issues
  • The ability to scale-up a display and emulate a RDP session without using the RDP protocol
  • Ease of installation and integration
  • Simple interface for technicians and staff
  • The admin interface is dated and difficult to use
  • It is difficult for us to walk end-users through installing the software. Once they provide us the codes to connect, we can usually get on. But getting to that point is not difficult for those that are not technically inclined
  • The price has continued to climb and features are not added at the same pace to make the price increases worthwhile
  • Customer support has been difficult or unresponsive
TeamViewer is the "name-brand" solution for remote access, and works well for its intended purpose: connecting to the screen of a remote server or workstation. Many years ago, it was an affordable and practical solution. But the company has increased their products to offer more device management tools, and continued to increase the TeamViewer price without offering any meaningful feature improvements. Now, the product is dated and clunky, difficult to use, confusing for end-users, and not as great as it once was.

I use TeamViewer frequently in my organization, especially for troubleshooting problems on user's PCs. It is a great safe to use and reliable software for Remote Desktop. It offers great command and control for remote computers, as it could be used for troubleshooting problems, or simply just leaving your pc at the office and accessing it from the commodity of your home (which can be desk, sofa or bathtub).

Yes, TeamViewer is great but I think there still are better and especially safer ways to gain remote access to machines, which use stronger and safer protocols and establishing private connections between hosts. TeamViewer is a great solution however when I use it I always have the feeling of not being absolutely 100% safe.

We use virtual desktops to gives users access to our internal network resources. During and after corona we introduced TeamViewer to give suppliers access to their products on our network.

Normally this would require us to deploy additional virtual desktops and licenses and higher cost for consultants driving to our location.

With TeamViewer we we have a product that is widly accepted and easily monitored by our IT staff to meet security standards
  • Remote desktop/server access
  • File transfer
  • Secure
  • Use microsoft authenticator 2fa
  • Managing sessions getting locked
  • Handle version differences between client/server
TeamViewer is widly used and new IT staff/suppliers will accept it fast. The usecase is very simple and well toight out. In that it does what it promises very well. The tool is less suited if your company has strict security rules on which 2fa you use or if other remote control tools.

At work, we use TeamViewer to address various IT related issues remotely. In my most recent cases I had some software issues and my coworker from IT was able to gain remote access to my company laptop to correct the software issues. TeamViewer gave my coworker full control of my laptop and my issue was resolved pretty quickly without having to physically take my laptop to our IT department.
  • Remote Access
  • Excellent Connectivity
  • Easy to download software
  • Excellent for companies with IT departments
  • Less download options - I was a little confused the most recent time I needed to download TeamViewer on my personal computer. I wasn’t very clear on which option to choose.
  • No other issues seen with this software for me. It works flawlessly from different places in the world!
Based on my experience, TeamViewer is excellent for IT department to remote in to my company laptop to correct any software related issues that may occur especially when I am working remotely. I suppose it would be good for personal computers too if one could find a remote IT servicing person/company.
have also used TeamViewer recently to remote into another computer to show someone how to use another software and it was like I was on my own computer because the connection was so seamless.
TeamViewer is especially useful for people working on computer projects together remotely. TeamViewer brings people together into one workspace.

This is pivotal in our dynamic work environment, ensuring seamless collaboration. The platform allows our IT support team to promptly address issues, enhancing operational efficiency. We use TeamViewer to remotely log into customer accounts for PC troubleshooting, installing software, removing software, hardware updates, and anything else that requires administrator rights. Our regular users do not have administrator rights to make changes to their PCs. TeamViewer allows us control and access to typing on their machine as well as copying and pasting info, which other applications do not allow.
  • Allows for remote access and control.
  • Allows typing and copying and pasting.
  • Allows for audio communication.
  • Audio controls are not easily noticed and can interfere with the audio from a Teams call if not turned off.
  • The option for reconnecting after a customer reboot is easily missed, and you will need to get the new password that is generated to reconnect because the password changes after a reboot.
  • needs better auto-reconnect function.
TeamViewer is very helpful with remotely troubleshooting customer problems. It is very helpful for running updates software installations, and removals where you don't need to be there in person to work on the PC. It also works well for logging in after we image our customer laptops and have to perform our post-build set-ups of new machines.

Now, after COVID, everything went remote, even harder for support services and maintenance teams, as well as maintaining computer parks. TeamViewer can help with most of the tasks that are simple to do and hard to explain to a non-tech person, and this is where it excels for our company.
  • Remote Connectivity.
  • Easy maintenance.
  • Easy troubleshooting.
  • Server connectivity.
  • Mobile application stability improvements.
  • Improve lag on low bandwidth connections.
  • Cheaper or free tier for development purposes.
Remote maintenance on servers and computers on client premises, even for non-tech teams, also makes it easier to troubleshoot complex or challenging problems if you have complete access to the system. Support for IT problems in the company computers, even when not working in the same country.

As a manufacturer of electronic equipment, we need to provide remote technical support, in particular to our regional distributors, who are located hundreds of miles from our central engineering office. Typical problems range from being able to remotely see and analyze the behavior of some of our equipment that is at fault as well as being able to make firmware corrections if necessary. We found TeamViewer the perfect tool to solve the remote technical support challenges our activity presents us with daily.
  • Actually, the way to access the remote PC is very well developed; it turns out to be a simple and, at the same time, safe process for the client.
  • For our specific technical support situation, the ability to transfer files to the remote PC is essential; TeamViewer meets that requirement perfectly and in a simple way.
  • The possibility of using TeamViewer in free mode for non-commercial use is very welcome.
  • We have found situations of version incompatibility between the local PC and the remote PC that prevented the use of the system until they were updated to the most recent versions. It would be good to simplify that requirement if possible.
  • Although it is logical that the better the internet connection, the better the system works, perhaps the use of bandwidth could be optimized even further and be able to function fluidly on slow internet connections.
  • Although we do not need to transfer large files, we have seen that it becomes a bit complicated when the file to be transferred is large. However, it has worked perfectly for our daily use.
Whether you are part of a small company or perhaps an independent professional in the IT area, you will find TeamViewer an ideal ally to provide support to your clients without the need to leave the comfort of your technical office. The functionalities provided by TeamViewer allow you to optimize your task, reducing operating costs and, as if that were not enough, providing faster solutions to your clients. Although I don't see scenarios where TeanViewer is not an excellent solution, there are clients who, for security or confidentiality reasons, do not allow remote access to their computers.

I use TeamViewer at a small non-profit to remotely control various computers & servers not assigned to a specific person. For example: printer kiosks, digital signage displays, and IP camera servers. It puts the remote connections in one spot so that I can remotely assist users or perform manual maintenance/troubleshooting even when no one is there.
  • Interface lists all managed computers in one spot
  • Multiple simultaneous remote connections in tabs or different windows
  • Interactive remote-control - allows sharing control with user physically present
  • Easy setup - no port forwarding required, works with NAT
  • Also has a free version for personal use at home
  • Remote control on mobile app works really well
  • Questionable reputation for security in the past
  • Expensive for very small-scale use cases
TeamViewer is excellent for smaller teams (15-50 people) that need to manage common devices like kiosks for maintenance, technical support, or just working on them. The remote control feature is responsive and pretty robust.

I don't think it's well suited for large enterprises where security and flexibility are high priorities.

We are using Teamviewer as a remote access solution for our support people throughout the company to support our employees and customers. Our help desk uses the software daily to connect to employee machines to understand better the problem an employee is having. We also use it to "take over" a computer to install software or apply an out-of-band patch. Others are using it to support software on our customer computers out in the field.
  • Security is great.
  • The client manages connectivity very well.
  • The interface is easy for end users to understand and navigate.
  • I do not like the what's new pop-up, it can confuse users.
  • The data transfer screen can be confusing at times.
  • The program sometimes forgets it is licensed and asks for a login.
In the areas we use it in, remote access and unattended access work very well. With remote access, the end user needs to initiate the connection by starting the program. This process adds a layer of security as employees do not need to worry about someone connecting to their computer without them knowing about it. We used VNC variants in the past, and although they were free, we could not count on them for reliable connectivity and frequently had lockups; we do not experience lockups or dropped connections with TeamViewer.

TeamViewer provides quick and easy remote access to our company's computers. It provides an easy way to offer remote support for end users or giving an external partner temporally access to a system. It is a well known tool in the IT world, so the chances that an external partner knows about it or has it already in use are high.
  • Quick and easy access to remote clients or servers
  • Prompt for user's consent or direct access
  • Well known tool in the IT world
  • The once very simple and straight forward UI is getting more and more cluttered
  • Licensing not very transparent - perpetual does not mean it will always work
  • Access is per default not restricted to internal IT, a user could let anyone access his company pc
Remote Support is made easy.
Temporal access is possible thanks to automatically changing passwords.
Everyone in IT knows it or heard about it.

In the end it is just one tool of many. It's not particularly better, just very common and kind of a standard.

When installing some software on a remote computer classic remote desktop is still the better solution.

In our hotel, we use TeamViewer with our camera system. This allows managers and key employees to view the cameras while off-site. In addition to the peace of mind, this brings, it is crucial to assist us with guest and employee safety. The ability to log in from home and view the over 40 cameras on the property is helpful for our security personnel in emergencies. We can also often assist Guest Service Agents or Bartenders with troubleshooting by logging in to devices on the property.
  • It is great for logging into cameras while off property to view them.
  • Its great for troubleshooting Guest Service POS systems.
  • It's great for trouble shooting Food and Beverage POS systems.
  • There is not much to be improved upon.
  • Support could always be faster, though Teamviewer is easy to use.

We use TeamViewer to manage about 350 computers remotely. It allows me to support people more easily. It has allowed me to respond to users faster than I have before. I can address an issue as soon as a ticket comes in. I do not need to worry about tracking computers down, and I can support our users from anywhere.
  • Performance is good.
  • Easy for techs to use.
  • Has good built in tools.
  • Needs better support.
  • Needs a better way to deal with duplicate machines.
  • It should be easier to add machines to an organization.
Overall, TeamViewer is a great program. It has helped us save a lot of time and effort resolving tickets. We now have the ability to support our users no matter where the techs or the users are. It lets us provide better service. Ticket times are shorter, and we get better results on the solution.

TeamViewer is used by our Technical Support Team to assist our customers with remotely configuring our hardware. Sometimes our customers have issues with their networks and our devices on their networks so we need to connect remotely to resolve these situations. TeamViewer allows us to connect remotely and diagnose issues quickly.
  • Remote Connection
  • IT Support
  • Fast Resolution
  • Easier chat functionality
  • Less perception from some customers as malware
TeamViewer is perfect for assisting customers if you are a business that has hardware on a customers network. Sometimes issues come up and instead of processing a return immediately, a remote session can quickly resolve an issue and lead to a happy customer experience. • It has good support for vpn driver and connectivity, I use it sometimes , not frequently but it is also helpful whenever needed
  • File Transfer, I absolutely love this feature... it has saved my life many times.. I have used it over globe and different part of world to transfer files
  • File transfer speed can be improved a little, it is sometimes very slow even on faster internet
  • VPN driver can be smooth and provide full flesh VPN setup with all devices...

We use TeamViewer as a collaboration tool, internally with our team as well as offshore teams. Also, we've used this to help our clients, with training and also problem resolution. It is very useful to be together (virtually) in same platform for quicker turnaround. With screenshare, issues are being analyzed and resolved.
  • Screenshare is very widely used to be able to see virtually and help clients with their issues.
  • Remote connections, being able to access somebody's machine to assist quicker is also helpful.
  • Meetings, joining in the meeting is very easy and communications are clear.
  • With different versions, sometimes it's a struggle to join the meeting.
