We use TeamViewer to log into our customers' desktop computers to troubleshoot problems with our software and to activate additional licenses for users. We also use it to download and/or upload documents or system updates. We are able to have multiple techs logging in simultaneously to assist the customer.
- It makes it simple to upgrade license counts for our customers. The License Key is a 26-digit number and it's much easier to do ourselves than read the number and walk a customer through it.
- It makes it easy to share files with a user with a quick upload.
- It allows multiple people to log into the same session with extra assistance is required.
Cons
- The only issues I have ever come across is when I try to log into a customer's computer and I receive a pop up that my version is a newer version and it does not allow a connection.

I use TeamViewer to access some of my customer's computers, both desktop/notebooks and also servers (physical and virtual). It allows me a quick way to access their environments, mostly for some small companies or personal users that do not have an IT department that can provide support to them.
- Simple to install and configure, that's reason number one.
- File transfer option, ideal to send updates or get files to work locally.
- Desktop sharing option, to reproduce issues or explain solutions.
Cons
- It is not possible to share a connection with more than one participant, that would be great when you need additional help.
- Version compatibility with older clients.

TeamViewer is by far my favorite remote desktop software. I have used it both for personal use & at work.I need to access my personal laptop when I am away at business meetings, TeamViewer fulfills that demand pretty well.
TeamViewer setup is easy & one can easily make a connection to it, whenever I need to exchange files or view a program on my laptop. I can even use the phone app to control my laptop. It provides access to my files from anywhere without having to move them from one laptop to another.
Also connecting the remote system is painless with no need to tinker with any security or network settings. With the TeamViewer software installed, we only need to provide the relevant ID and password to connect. Remote Desktop and Web Conferencing was a major challenge with our teams being distributed at 4 locations but when Team viewer came in our scenario, these challenges were resolved effectively.
It is also being used by infra team to establish remote connections and web chats with development team desktops whenever the team faces any technical challenges.

- It allows you to do effective demonstrations & presentations specifically when the team is distributed. We use team viewer to record our meetings & even use the remote screen like a whiteboard when there is need to explain some diagram or architecture.
- Excellent tool for screen sharing as there is no lag observed during screen sharing
- It allows you to copy files back and forth & even allows you to copy text or graphics to the clipboard on one machine and paste it on the other m/c.
- TeamViewer is quite secure & safe as your sessions are always encrypted & it had 2-factor authentication system. Every time you make a connection with other equipment, the systems generate a password for this session which makes it secure than other tools available.
- You can make a video call through this, the quality is really superb. Also Supports chat (text and voice over IP).
- Remote sessions can be recorded to a video file so you can easily review it later.
- Files can also be transferred through TeamViewer directly from online storage services like Google Drive, OneDrive, and Box
- The interface of Team Viewer is good, compact, organizes all its characteristics and factors very well and organizes the remote connection and conferences very well.
- It allows multiple users to connect to a remote computer at once which is very useful when any infra associate is not able to resolve the issue & he can request another associate to connect to resolve the issue.
Cons
- The commercial price is expensive, taking into account the number of licenses you should acquire
- Teamviewer updates are very constant, sometimes up to twice or thrice a year, which makes it expensive, because it forces you to buy a license
- The browser version of TeamViewer is difficult to use. It's quite possible to connect to another computer through a browser with TeamViewer, but it's just not as effortless as the desktop version.
- Drag-and-drop functionality between viewer and desktop is not available with TeamViewer which is available with other tools i.e. GoToMyPC
- The support desk is not up to the mark, I feel even they lack the knowledge of the product.

We have staff throughout the entire state while a lot of the files they need access to have to stay at our central office's location. We have been using Teamviewer to allow them access to these files without them saving any of them on their local computer. It also allows us to troubleshoot with them remotely.
- Offered enhanced features.
- Free version for personal use.
Cons
- Remote print to local is hard to set up
- Generic teamviewer is hard to work with branded one
- Purchased license doesn't work with newer version
- Old-new versions incompatible issues.

I personally, and I know several others in my company use teamviewer to access a desktop that is not onsite. So if you're at home and need to get a file off your work computer, you can use teamviewer to gain access to the desktop at your work computer. You have full control of that computer, and you can do it from virtually any device. It's very cool.
- Monitor sharing
- Screen sharing
- Presentations
Cons
- I know there's no way around it really, but it sucks when my work computer is off. I can't use Teamviewer then obviously.
- Public file shares are inaccessible.
- Would love the ability to somehow turn a device on.
