ThoughtSpot is really useful. If you have domain experts who lack technical abilities and you need them to get to insights and stories real quick. It is not useful when you have large data engineering teams who have the practical knowledge of the domain or the data. Scientist do have the domain knowledge as the product is expensive

It is excellent if you want to give access to a tool to many people who aren't BI experts. We removed our BI teams as a dependency for most users to build out reports and access data. From an admin perspective, there are a handful of frustrations, but we can get over those. I would recommend a more advanced tool like Looker or Tableau if you want very advanced customization options and to build feature-packed dashboards.

Thoughtspot is great for promoting data democracy to the end users (primarily business users).
It enables them to build simple visualizations and pin multiple of them together on a liveboard just by entering their queries in simple natural language.
But, for building more complex visualizations, Thoughtspot lags behind other (older) BI tools in the market - as it has relatively limited customizability options for visualizations as of now.

Team support is great, and very useful if needed. The cloud production is awesome, my favorite part as mentioned previously is the accountability integrations with the dashboard and having useful recommendations around visualizations.

Regularly, we need to analyse relationships between variables and represent them in a format easy to interpret by non statisticians. ThoughtSpot is of great help in this phase of the analysis to articulate insights backedup by graphical evidence. We are kless at ease with ThoughtSpot where mixed models are required (FC–AFC–FCA). Then we resort to specialised statistical packages (XLSTAT or SPSS).

[ThoughtSpot is] easy to use. Lot's of possible thing you can do.
No problems combining multiple sources and/or databases.
Great performance.
Nice way to create dashboard and reports. Can handle both financial- and non financial KPI's.
This makes it possible to great the best reports for management and own use.
Cloud based product so always available.

Even though I am not in the contract discussions or know pricing, my understanding is that it is a very expensive product. I'm not certain we are ready to extract the value we should out of this relationship, yet. I believe that by improving our data set by including real-time data instead of just historic we could potentially be better at utilizing this product.

Thoughtspot is well-suited for users who want to access data easily and create reports on their own. It's good for nontechnical users after the data model is set up. Based on my experience, it may be helpful to have help with data modeling during the integration phase.

ThoughtSpot is well suited for: Embedding use cases Working with large volumes of data (>TBs) Use cases that involve lots of questions from an end-user, the search querying, and SpotIQ helps out here ThoughtSpot is not well suited for: Use cases that want an easier drill down/filtering with the visuals Users who want a word cloud of any kind.

Well suited for my clients for a Macro view of business insights, credit risk, ESG insights, etc. However, I think ThoughtSpot needs to make exploring underlying data easier, adding a feature where you can click on charts and filters will help users and especially business users to easily understand the granularities as well.

It is a cloud software with great BI analysis and artificial intelligence capabilities and excellent real-time data analysis capabilities in graphs and dashboards and data export in reports. We recommend it to anyone interested in this kind of intelligent and accurate information analysis technology that can aid decision-making, business, and development. The insights we use are always reliable and help us every day. I recommend technical support because they always helped us to clear doubts about the software and features.

Well suited in:
- Sharing information where multiple departments are involved.
- Quick turn-around is required.
- Where more business analysts are involved.

Not suited for:
- IT based infrastructure
- Pinboards requiring complex formatting

Overall the product is very much fast and AI features are interesting. But need a lot of improvements as such in the product development, enable more options for cosmetic changes. Limitations in the pinboard need to be addressed like selector placement, rearranging the filters, more options for sizing of the answers in the pinboard.

Based on my personal use case and the access that I have, I would recommend ThoughtSpot. One of the advantages, besides the obvious, is I like how you can share your pinboard with other members of the company. This way you're not having to re-create the wheel every time a different user wants the same report, and then that user can even customize the report to exactly what they're looking for.

ThoughtSpot is great for mining data insights across data sets with ease. It is great for generating insights for single data sources as other tools can perform that same function. In today's world, however, the more data the better. Thoughtspot helps make those connections and makes it easier for less tech-savvy users to perform advanced analytics.

If you are building an embedded app, ThoughtSpot is a great solution. If you are looking for all of the nuanced BI features that you see in more mature BI tools, make sure ThoughtSpot has the features you need.

You need to know [ThoughtSpot] well and have lots of hours using it in order to really use it well. Setting up quick answers and pinboards for business users works fine, but the tool can be very difficult for non-analytic folks to use. It looks clean and simple, but it does not live up to what we have hoped it would be.

ThoughtSpot is by far the best BI tool for business users who are not that tech-savvy. Since querying is super easy and very intuitive, users can get insights in no time. It also supports natural language processing for querying data which takes it a step ahead of other tools. Since ThoughtSpot only charges you based on the storage you use, it helps reduce costs as well. ThoughtSpot lags behind when a user requires a lot of customization in their visualizations. It also does not have a free version for users to try and see for themselves.
