Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

A thousand eyes can be used in network environments to troubleshoot latency, jitter issues. It can mostly monitor network performance and not applications. Internet insights are helpful to monitor events. Can also be used to monitor VoIP issues. It is a good collaborative tool for service providers and is well suited in monitoring networks with multiple service providers.

It is a great monitoring tool when you don't own the technology you are using and it is more of "black box" application. It helps you call out potential performance issues you may not have had any visibility to. It fills a gap between system monitoring from the vendor and internal monitoring tools. Alerting the team keeps potential issues from going undetected.

We immediately know if there is an issue with local service. Mostly as its monitoring links from different locations so if there is just a local issue on server or with its service or its something bigger on ISP end. Easy to setup notification and alerting which do not send to much details and can be adjusted.

Actually a 9.5. BGP infrastructure is efficiently monitored. The visibility is great that helps us to identify and troubleshoot the problems. All other network connectivity problems are also resolved as it is quite faster in identifying everything. There is a wide availability of the cloud agents. Almost all over the world.

It's an excellent tool for monitoring your infrastructure from your customer's point of view. There are a large number of cloud agents available and the ability to share exactly what you are looking at with anyone, even outside of your organization is excellent for customer service groups. There are many connector options to send alerts to common chat and network event management platforms, as well. If all you need are basic ping or network types of tests, these may be less expensive options for your use case, however.

ThousandEyes is very well suited for those who require all the network solutions in one place and have some developers on the team. It is not a good value for the money to grab a standalone service provider firm. So the best part is that all types of network support from setup to cloud service come in one package.

Good scenarios: Mainly used to measure network performance, not applications. Very strong with visual reports that aim to easily find pinpoint issues or simply abnormal behaviors to keep an eye on. Standard alerting capabilities and integration with other tools through KPIs. The new integration allows it to be deployed on Cisco 9K switches. Good to monitor Intranet and access to your applications from the Internet.

Bad scenarios: Not good to do deep-dive analysis on application performance (although it can do some basics on web transactions). It only does synthetic monitoring (emulates user transactions sending/receiving its own packets), doesn't analyze real user/server network packets or transactions (packet analysis). At the time of this review, it doesn't include specific wireless network monitoring capabilities.

ThousandEyes works well for BGP monitoring (e.g. watching for hijacks, monitoring external reachability, etc.). If you are already using a tool to perform these functions like BGPmon, going with ThousandEyes can absorb a lot of those features and save on OpEx compared to running two different tools. ThousandEyes also does a great job with reports. A great example of this is tracking availability/uptime. You can build reports including information like "what percentage of time was I not down" and put together reports about how many nines you had last month and pat yourself on the back. If you didn't have a great month, it's possible to isolate incidents that may have led to that reduced uptime, and help yourself find leverage for upgrades or enhancement. As with any tool, ThousandEyes is not going to be a good fit for your organization if only one or two individuals are ever going to use it. At its core, it really shines as a collaborative troubleshooting tool; if you're the only one troubleshooting through ThousandEyes and other people or departments are using other tools, its usefulness starts to fade a bit.

ThousandEyes is best fit if you need to monitor your platforms, site, or API connectivity. It provides robust monitoring mechanisms for monitoring.
But in case you need detailed network issue analysis, then there are specific network monitoring tools on the market which can provide better insights as compared to ThousandEyes. The Reporting and Alerting features in ThousandEyes are awesome.

It is a must-have for SaaS vendors, bandwidth providers, and retailers where traffic and QoS is core to your business. To be able to say "It's not me it's you (or it's the internet router)" and be able to prove it is powerful!

For those that already have a mish mash of 3-5 products to do this (APMs, network monitors, application monitors) you may not want to rip out all that custom work that you built.

It's ideally suited to a managed data center or colocation environment with multiple ISPs and running BGP. Seems a bit more ideal for a service provider with specific customer locations rather than an internet-wide hosted service. There is a limited number of agents usable in the US so there are many gaps. You may have Comcast in Atlanta, but not Miami for example. Not as ideal for service-level monitoring - i.e. does not replace an external service monitoring solution to provide broad performance analytics.
