I have learned the product by working with other employees who know the product well. It is easy to pick up having some already developed projects to go through as examples and by reading the product documentation.

It helped to design correctly.

For the old version of Business Works, version 5, we had a consultant help us with getting started. He was very helpful and BW5 was relatively easy to learn and deploy. Most things we could learn on our own. For BW6 we tried Tibco's online training. It was not effective because the lessons built upon each other, but there were so many software bugs it was not possible to get each lesson working. The lessons also consisted of mild introductions to numerous concepts, which could have been accomplished just as quickly by reading the documentation, and offered no advantage over simply skimming the docs.

Confident about using the product

It took just one week of studying the BusinessWorks Tibco and Tibco Administrator tools, accompanied by a week of exercises covering all the possible chapters concerning programming, installation of tools, package creation and deploying, installation maintenance and error management. Obviously, the practice and prolonged use of the product has reinforced and improved the knowledge acquired.

During my training I was quite surprised about the speed of the learning process on using the business works because of the development interface is very user-friendly

Training available via Tibco, not open source.

I received training through TIBCO Education and found it to be fairly effective. It was fairly fast paced but we were able to experience many different simple and complex scenarios to see the capabilities of the tool.

They provide the best practices for using the software.

I'm not very happy with this type of training because usually, the material to be studied is so much and because of the short time you can not understand and do experiments to apply and test better what has been explained. However, I have seen many interesting things that could increase my programming possibilities.

Impact was on BI and positive.

I have been using Tibco Business Works since the year 2004. Before that I have used Tibco Integration Manager. Hence I did not have any problem to learn the tibco BusinessWorks myself.

Recently I had a chance to work with some of the Tibco marketing and Solutions Consultant, and with little bit of introduction from them about the BW 6.x I was able to get jump started easily into Tibco BW 6.
