  • The ability of Spotfire to handle large and complex datasets is one of its strongest points. Spotfire excels in the area of dynamic and interactive visualizations as well.
  • Numerous visualization options, including bar charts, scatter plots, warmth maps, and more, are provided by the software.
  • It's also important to highlight Spotfire's sophisticated analytical capabilities. Users are empowered to conduct intricate analyses and arrive at informed judgments by use of the software's support for multiple statistical functions and predictive modeling techniques.
  • While Spotfire offers a lot of features, navigating through them can sometimes be confusing and overwhelming.
  • Another area of improvement for Spotfire is in terms of data manipulation and transformation capabilities. While the tool offers basic data cleaning and wrangling functionalities, there is room for more advanced features.
  • Lastly, an area where Spotfire could improve is in its support for advanced statistical analysis. While the tool has some basic statistical functions, it lacks more advanced capabilities such as multivariate analysis or time series forecasting.

  • With the help of this, a large volume of data can be handled and offered and has advanced data visualization.
  • Powerful data visualization capabilities allow users to build interactive charts, graphs, and dashboards.
  • This helps to analyze and present data effectively.
  • High cost required for licensing and maintenance, especially for smaller organizations.
  • I have realized, that it takes a lot of time to get used to a wide variety of graphs.
  • Limited data connectors.

  • Trend charts for QC metrics that can rapidly be filtered by process inputs
  • Yield reporting trends and grouping by process inputs
  • Dashboards for statistical analysis of process inputs as compared to historical performance
  • I would love to see a native Pareto chart visualization
  • Have an way to default a "profile" setting. For example coloring on visualizations Pass/Good should be green and Fail/Bad should be red

  • Matrix Table or CrossTable
  • Scripting to build some complicated calculations
  • User Friendly Visualizations configurations
  • The donut chart is I guess a powerful illustrations but I hope it should be done quite simple in Spotfire. But in Spotfire there are lots of steps involve just to build a simple donut chart.
  • Table calculation (like Row or Column Differences) should be made simple or there should be drag and drop function for Table Calculation. No need for scripting.
  • Information Link should be changed. If new columns are added to the table just refreshing the data should be able to capture the new column. No need extra step to add column

  • Ease of use
  • Visualization
  • Communication
  • Generating figures
  • Handling of samples. We would have liked something closer to a laboratory information management system, where samples could be tracked before sequencing. Even tracking the position of a vial in a fridge/rack would be useful for us.

  • Custom calculations within visualizations.
  • Flexible data source connectors.
  • Built-in trend and statistical analysis.
  • More customization within each visualization ie. manually adjusting elements within a chart, such as labels.
  • More user-friendly automation to allow for scheduled updates of files.
  • Map-based visualizations are much harder than they need to be.

  • The drill down of data works very well. No static reports anymore, but fancy reports, from which you can check the details (by the drill down).
  • the relations which can be found in the data can be very helpful.
  • I find it very useful that we can make one report with several datasources underneath. (I'm used to Business Objects, you couldn't do that very easy in that too.)
  • You can make a basic report with different tabs in it, f.e. For stock and use this report as a ‘linked report’ in several other reports. So you keep your maintenance low.
  • We use often the possibility of using one report for several kind of users. = one view!
  • Spotfire reports are very ‘visual’, you can see, in one view where the deviations are.
  • The courses aren't good. No documentation and I think it's called 'robotcourses'. You get to know what you can do with Spotfire (how to click), but principles, pros and cons aren't explained.
  • Spotfire could pay more attention to the dataset, how it's best organized to get the best results from your reports.
  • It would be helpful if the course could be held in Dutch.

  • Ability to leverage emailing reports automatically for staff in office and away

  • Support website to search is poor. Google is friendlier to find what I need
  • More granularity for permissions to the library
  • Improve web player design to current web standards

  • They should introduce Python native visualizations
  • Learning Materials for basic and Intermediate level should be made free. This helps to attract and onboard new users.
  • Jupyter integration will be a great improvement.
  • There should be approach available for parallel development. For Example, Two person should be able to edit and save same dashboard if they are working with different components.
