We use Spotfire for creating an interactive and visual dashboard to present our organization performance for various KPIs. The aim is to create a view where users can see trends over time and apply various filters to drill down to detailed level information. Also, the dashboard is presented at executive level meetings to answer any questions raised regarding our performance. Currently, Spotfire is used by 100 or so users in various departments such as HR, Accounting, Performance etc.

It is primarily used to build dashboards that allow functional managers to monitor KPIs and drill down as needed. It is used across the whole organization.

Spotfire is the first BI tool our company has used for self-service BI. It allows faster decision making and insights provided by the dashboards are very valuable.

Spotfire is used to perform analytics and process tracking of our pipeline data. Currently, the microscopy department uses Spotfire for all of our data visualization needs. I use it on a yearly subscription basis and find it to be a very useful data visualization product.

Spotfire is used in all departments within my company. The ultimate goal is to utilize the power of the analysis of Spotfire -- as the current software utilized cannot handle the vast data sets that are continually utilized. As well, the ability to add different techniques in the analysis has assisted in making this software indispensable for the analyst we have here. The biggest problems are the vast data sets (10,000+ rows with an excess of 52 columns regularly.

We started last year looking for a tool to present huge amounts of data in a meaningful way to our investors. As electricity markets generate a lot of data, having a tool that helps to simplify part of the processing of information was one KPI. On the other hand, having a way to create visually appealing reports that are easy to follow and understand was the second main goal. With Spotfire, you can create dashboards that plug into the data sources making live reports that update automatically. These can be online for everyone to see or sent via private links with the report of interest. The visuals are stunning and clear to our investors so they can follow up from one report to another. We thought that the price was high at first, but having tried and used the software, we can say it’s worth the price and for a data-intensive job it is a great companion.

It currently isn't being used by the entire company, and we don't have a purchased version of it. I knew of its capabilities and thought it would be a good tool for a project I was working on, so I got a trial version to see if I was correct. And I was! It makes data consolidation and manipulation so easy and just takes a lot of leg work out of certain projects. I was very happy with my trial.

Spotfire is being used by multiple departments within FedEx companies. It is an easy tool to analyze data, and slice and dice it in multiple ways. We perform statistical analysis for both strategic and tactical projects. We analyze in memory live data for tactical analysis, historical data for trend and strategic analysis.

Spotfire is used extensively to do both (1) dashboards of a broad range of challenges (safety, volume and cost performance) as well as (2) large database analysis.
It addresses the problems of
(1) Reporting complex data quickly and consistently
(2) Enabling fluid report changes, as required, without recreating data searches
(3) An analysis bench for large data sets that would be inefficient or impossible in spreadsheeting programs
(4) Bringing together multiple sources of data for better understanding of organization performance.

We use it to analyze well performance in multiple oil and gas basins. A large part of my job is figuring out how much to pay for mineral acres (since we are in the minerals space) and the work done in Spotfire has been crucial to our business. Building type curves hinges heavily on my process within Spotfire.

We use Spotfire as part of our solution for Digital Oil Fields. It is used for our clients as a visualization and data analysis tool. We connect to different data sources, do some analysis and visualize results on web dashboards. It is very convenient because we can create customized dashboards for every asset and case.

Spotfire is used by most departments in our company to access enterprise and local data sources. It is connected to over 30 enterprise data sources. It began as a tool for engineers, but anyone who wants to access data may work with the application to create dashboards, workflows, and other tools to aid in decision making and visualization.

Spotfire is used to perform data analytics that can’t easily be done with other spreadsheet programs. Currently, the department that I work in does not use Spotfire. I used it on a trial basis and found it to be applicable and very effective. I am certain that other departments within Halliburton do use Spotfire.

We used the Spotfire platform to analyze our Summer Learning Academy testing scores to identify areas of growth and deficit within the program. Spotfire allowed for simplicity in data visualization that were difficult to create through Excel or PowerPoint. The easy-to-understand tables allowed for us to easily identify our progress and help secure funding from grants. Data visualization in education is vital and the simpler it is to understand, the easier it is to explain to those that are unfamiliar with academic testing scores.

Spotfire for supply chain

I used Spotfire to solve the problem of displaying supply chain flow in a network. It very easy and quick to learn and get introduced with its capabilities, but currently, we are not using it, as we could find much more efficient similar tools to address the same problem. Along with network display, we were also looking for tools with graph database capabilities, which was the reason to park it aside and move forward with other options on the market.

Spotfire is being used for creating multiple Department Dashboards, such as Pharmacy, Oncology, Geriatrics. All these Dept. are working with 2 or more dedicated software with transactional databases providing partial information about their work. They are not able to get enough information. We use Spotfire to unify information and present summarise information in a graphical and comprehensive way, in order to give a global view to stakeholders.
