We want a way to process ACH to our clients that was automated and Tipalti offered that solution. We started using it March 1 2023 and so far have been very pleased with the platform and integration with our software.

Tipalti works great with our platform and is easy to use for our clients. If there is payment issue would be nice if you could reset the option instead of having to enter the information again manually. Such as a returned item provide the option to edit the banking and resubmit the payment after you have approved again.

We use Tipalti in supporting our end-to-end accounts payable process. Prior to implementation, we would receive an invoice and make payments across multiple platforms, e.g. via local banking solution or by instruction via email to our bank. Approvals were obtained via email and tracked via Airtable to at least have some transparency. Scope of Tipalti now is to scan all invoices that come through our shared mailbox and suggest coding as well as approvers. Approval process is seamless and the beauty is the ability to make the payment - OR- mark the payment as paid manually when it makes more sense to pay locally.

Tipalti has suited our operation - a small venture capital firm with multiple entities and multiple currencies. It specifically supports ISK, which is not an obvious product in the market.
A limitation for our business is the lack of ability to support an individual. Tipalti has, however, been very flexible in supporting workarounds that solve the business problem, albeit not optimally.

We use Tipalti to pay all our international suppliers. They register on the platfrom and I just use their code to transfer funds. In the future and when they support drop ship and plan to use the invoice module as well and have them load it directly on the platform.

  • react very fast if there is any problem
  • They could accept the money in Israel instead of having to made transfer to their US bank
  • They should support every business transaction including drop shipping
  • They are quite expensive (the fix monthly charge)
Tiplati is best suited for companies with large number and changing suppliers base. They are also perfect for global suppliers network as they seamlessly support in many different countries.
If your supplier network is small and quite fixed it is less important as you local bank can support you as well.

Tipaliti is our primary method of processing invoices from vendors. We use it to process invoices, code them to the appropriate expense account and department, and process payments. Tipalti has drastically helped streamline our AP process. The automated coding functions have saved me and other staff a lot of time considering we process close to 200 invoices a month. Its integration with NetSuite has been pretty seamless and Tipalti support has been able to help address any sync issues that have come up. Also, the approval process is convenient for the approvers as it allows them to approve invoices through their email notification or via the AP hub. I would definitely recommend Tipalti to my peers.
  • The automated coding functionality that learns how to code them correctly
  • The updates that they release address needs that me and my team have requested. For example they just added the ability to change approvers without retracting the invoice
  • Convient approval process. Invoices can be approved in the AP hub or through email notifications
  • The ability to batch multiple invoices to download the pdf invoices. Currently we can only download one at a time
  • The ability to download an export of bill details with the ability to choose the columns I want to include. Currently, I'm not able to choose the columns and cannot add columns like the Alias name.
  • The ability to retract batched payments that have been sent for approval. Currently once it has been batched the approvers need to reject it if we want to make adjustments.
Tipalti is well-suited for processing a high volume of invoices because it can automate the coding saving the team time. This makes it very scalable for growing companies. They have released a credit card functionality, but it seems like it may still need to be developed a little more before we consider switching.

We are a global marketplace and we use Tipalti for payments to our providers within our network. Given the ease of implementing Tipalti, we deployed it in the MVP of our digital marketplace, and its scalability has enabled our growth with minimal changes since. We're now at a nine-figure annual run rate, and Tipalti's solution still reliably sends hundreds of millions to providers around the globe. There appears no end to how far Tipalti can scale with us, and it's allowed us to focus our limited resources on growing the business instead of administrative and AP tasks. The tax form collection and validation, OAFC checks, and other compliance features are amazing. I've worked at other digital marketplaces in the past that had far less complexity with a lot more administrative work around these matters because we didn't have a solution like Tipalti implemented.

Tipalti is a great tool to really reduce the workload (and headcount) of AP. Simple to use, it makes invoice approval easy for both the vendor and approval. Payments are made from within the program, so no capturing bank details, cutting checks, or keying wires! New functionality is being added all the time - Currently, we are a trial partner for their PCard program - I love it, removing all the extra work around AP card payments and reconciliation!

Tipalti is used for our payables management. We have a lot of one-time payees and we pay a lot of individuals (more so than big organizations) and Tipalti is generally easy for our payees to set up their payment profile and navigate in. With the odd exception of a few purchases that go through credit cards, we get all payees set up and paid through Tipalti. All managers who have approval authority use Tipalti to approve invoices and to review if needed. We also use it for if we need to see how much we have paid to a specific payee in the past if we need to.
  • The payee is responsible for setting up their own payment and tax details, which makes my job as the AP processor a lot easier.
  • Tipalti's support team is always responsive and helpful when needed.
  • The auto scan function is usually quite accurate.
  • Tipalti will recall what the GL account is and who the approvers usually are for a payee and will automatically fill in that information
  • It would help if there was a way for a user to search for invoices by GL account, so we could see how much has been spent on a certain GL account in a given time period.
  • There have been a few occasions where an invoice has originally been processed and approved with an incorrect due date. It'd be nice if, once an invoice has been fully approved, we could still modify the due date.
  • If we could delete a bill after it's been fully approved (but before it's been paid), it would be beneficial for those times that an invoice has been processed in Tipalti but got paid by credit card as well.
  • I would like to be able to see if a bill was scanned in via the suppliers' portal in the review screen because sometimes it's hard to figure out where the invoice came from.
I think it's great that it's an online platform and therefore easily accessible from anywhere. I also really love how easy it is to get documents scanned into Tipalti. I would recommend Tipalti to anyone that has a company, big or small, to manage their accounts payable.

It's used by finance to manage payable invoices. It allows us to provide credit note amounts which, once approved, become invoices and therefore payable. It provides us with invoices once the supplier approves, so in a way it function as an archiving. Payees input the bank information directly, therefore there is no need to include this in ERP systems.

  • Manuals of use could be made in form of video with examples. This would make it very easy to navigate extra functions.
Tipalti is very well suited for businesses where the contact with suppliers has to be done monthly or more often and the numbers have to be always verified. I think it can be adapted for and used in all businesses. It's a fast payment system with a very intuitive and lean interface.

We use Tipalti as a our automated accounts payable system for all of our product vendors that we work with. We add hundreds of new vendors each month which makes it very difficult to keep up with on a manual basis. Basically when a new vendor agrees to work with us, they complete their financial information in a Tipalti iFrame as well as their tax information, allowing us to automatically set up payments when we receive invoices from them. When vendors enter incorrect financial information which happens frequently, Tipalti is able to catch this and help our vendors correct it with minimal interruption to our business.

For retail, it is incredibly important to maintain accurate records of our accounts payable to vendors. Because we have millions of dollars moving each day, removing the human element from accounts payable allows us to eliminate the risk of human error, greatly improving accounting accuracy and efficiency. In addition, automating the accounts payable element helps the company scale its finance team more efficiently as we do not require additional headcount in processing invoices as we work with additional vendors.
  • The most important thing to look for when selecting an enterprise partner is customer service. The support team at Tipalti is extremely prompt and helpful when responding to questions, no matter how dumb they might be. Their executive team also monitors support inquiries for broader account questions so the are able to handle them promptly with the right perspective. Being able to get a quick response for any question is exceptionally valuable.
  • Tipalti's core feature is enabling payments in a very streamlined manner. They were the first provider that we found that was able to process payments in any currency across any payment method, allowing us to provide the maximum convenience to the vendors that we work with. Because of this, Touch of Modern is known as one of the easiest retail partners to work with.
  • A feature we didn't even realize would be so valuable is the tax compliance piece. When we started the company, we had no idea that we needed to collect tax information for every vendor we sent a payment to. Tipalti's platform requires this and ensures no payments are sent without the proper compliance.
  • One frustrating problem we've had with payments is when payments bounce. Now this is not necessarily a problem with using Tipalti vs. using any payment processor, but sometimes it takes 1-2 weeks to even find out a payment has bounced and then another week or so for the payment to return to our account. It would be incredibly valuable to know as soon as possible when a payment has bounced so we can take the proper corrective action.
  • The functionality that I would love to see is the ability to send a credit card payment token, with the idea of generating individual single use credit card numbers to pay our vendors by that method. With this payment method, Tipalti would be fully complete in my mind in the ability to send money.
  • Paper checks are a little slow to send out, but then again, it's called "snail mail" for a reason.
Tipalti's platform is well suited for anyone looking to automate payments towards vendors or partners. The types of businesses that it works well with are any types of intermediaries - marketplaces, ticketing companies, advertising platforms, as well as retailers that work with a variety of supply partners. It is not very useful for small businesses that do not conduct many outgoing payments such as a consulting firm for example.
