Tresorit is a reliable and secure cloud storage platform that enables fast and seamless team collaboration and file sharing across multiple teams and users within an organization. Users appreciate its easy-to-use interface and quick consumer support for any encountered problems. It provides a clean and simple file sharing workflow, allowing easy access to files and documents from anywhere, promoting collaboration and sharing among coworkers.

One of the key use cases of Tresorit is its ability to store and organize all types of business files securely in one place. This ensures that sensitive data and documents are protected from being easily attacked or accessed by unauthorized users. It also allows local access to large and sensitive files at various remote locations without compromising security. Additionally, Tresorit facilitates secure exchange of critical information across organizations and individuals, avoiding the use of insecure channels like email.

Another important use case for Tresorit is its capability to ensure data safety in case of computer failure. By providing off-site backup services for critical files, it offers a fully automated backup solution for easy file recovery. Moreover, Tresorit allows secure sharing of files with outside partners and contributors while providing the ability to remove access or set a timeline. This feature is particularly useful for small businesses and teams who need hassle-free and secure storage for all types of files.

Overall, users have found that Tresorit provides a reliable, secure, and convenient solution for storing, organizing, sharing, and backing up files. Its high-level security features, user-friendly behavior, and ease of access have made it an attractive option for private users as well as companies of any size.

Ease of Team Management and Permissioning: Users appreciate the ease of team management and permissioning in Tresorit, with simple access controls that are easy to set up. Many reviewers have stated that they find it convenient to manage their teams and control access to files and folders within the platform.

Convenient Windows Folder Integration: Tresorit's integration with Windows folders is highly praised by users. They like that it works like a folder in Windows, making it convenient for them to use. This feature allows users to seamlessly access and manage their files within their familiar file system environment.

Collaboration Capabilities: Users appreciate the collaboration capabilities offered by Tresorit. Multiple users can access the same folders and files, enabling efficient teamwork. The ability to collaborate on documents and projects in real-time has been positively mentioned by many reviewers.

Slow and Challenging Navigation: Users have found the app slower to navigate and more challenging to use compared to the Windows-style folder. Some users felt that this affected their productivity negatively.

Difficulty in Temporary Access Sharing: Users mentioned that giving temporary access to someone outside the organization was difficult and required them to set up an account, which they found tedious. This extra step proved to be a hassle for some reviewers.

High Cost Compared to Competitors: Users expressed frustration with the high cost of the software compared to other cloud storage solutions. Some users felt that the pricing structure did not provide a good value for money, especially when considering alternative options available on the market.

Tresorit is being used across the entire organization. As a venture fund, we need to store copies of data rooms we review securely. We also have internal documents and metrics we need to keep securely stored, as well as our Limited Partner data. Furthermore, we required independence from Google and other large file storage organizations. We had a bad experience with Google, there was an issue with a secure key on Google Domains, so Google just turned off our entire account, which led to no access to Drive, Calendar, Email, and other services. With limited to no support, and lacking security options, we found most alternatives to Tresorit unacceptable.

  • Secure Storage
Cons
  • Shared Folders with outside guests, to collaborate with them (collect uploads).
  • Removal of data-cap on file size, and right now, there is one, and it's an issue when storing rich media (such as startup pitch videos, etc.).
Good scenario: Wanting to have your files stored by an independent group that specializes in secure file storage. The ability to have files stored on servers that are not domestic is a big plus too. We had issues in the past with a solution that went down when the US AWS East Coast servers had an issue; Tresorit is insulated from these problems and appears to handle load balancing as well.

Not good scenario: If you want to have outside parties, upload files/share files with you within your Tresorit environment. There is no way of doing this, and this is a real operational problem.

  • Ensures our business is able to remain operational.
  • Provides comfort on data security and compliance.
Secure and independently operated. We selected Tresorit for its secure file storage capabilities that the other services (except SpiderOak) did not provide. Tresorit is a zero-knowledge system, which gives us a lot of comforts when it comes to secure data storage. SpiderOak was a close alternative, but they have been in continuous development to provide competitive features, and still haven't provided what we needed (SpiderOak has promised features for several years at this point).
Exceptionally responsive. This is something we needed from our storage provider. We are continuously accessing the information, and downtime or technical issues would be and are unacceptable. We have had no downtime issues so far, and Support has been responsive to us whenever needed. Exactly what we needed from their service.
