We use it as our payroll and benefits solution across the whole organization. This was previously done internally. Our employees are enjoying having one-stop access to their benefits, payroll and 401k. As owners of the company, we use the admin portal on a regular basis for seamless HR functionality.

Great solution for for small companies. As we grow, I look forward to seeing more of the functionality put into place. The ability to delegate and provide certain access to certain individuals will be key. We are already using this functionality seamlessly with providers such as our accountants and other admin staff.

We use TriNet for payroll processing and HR for all employees that work in our single location manufacturing lab in Santa Ana, CA. Our company does not have any health benefits for the employees. We process payroll on the 15th and last day of each month. I am a single user that imports timesheet hours for payroll processing.
  • Provided a very simple import facility allowing me to collect timesheet hours in an Excel file and easily upload a CSV file to TriNet.
  • Customer support is outstanding. Never has an item required more than 1 call to answer any questions that I may have.
  • I've not used the reporting very much, but I did find it hard to generate specific reports to help an employee get details on specific periods.
  • I was going to offer a potential feature to capture 1099 details, but such is now mute with CA's AB-5 that goes into effect 1/1/2020.
TriNet is well suited for small blue-collar manufacturing companies that do not have their own true accounting office and HR capabilities.

TriNet is used across our organization. We use TriNet for our employee benefits, vacation requests, payroll and HR support. They have helped us address employee issues as well as determining our benefit package and its costs.
  • Their payroll system is fairly easy to understand and the staff is quick in responding to any questions or when you need guidance on how to enter items outside of the norm.
  • Assigning specific staff to your account helps develop relationships. They are generally quick to respond to inquiries.
  • Their website can be difficult although the new portal is much easier than the old. I find the reports function to be difficult.
  • TriNet Expense is a feature we are anxious to learn more about. The webinar for that was very fast and superficial. Need more details and assistance in setting it up. The normal help line is not well equipped to deal with these issues.
TriNet is well suited for small organizations such as ours where we do not have a full HR department. I think in a larger corporation with a well established and large HR department, it would not be necessary or at least not all of the functions would be necessary.

They process our Payroll. They provide benefit information. They administer our worker's comp. All our employees use TriNet. We don't have a benefits manager, so they act as one. They provide benefit information to all of our employees.
  • They act as our benefits manager and answer employee benefit questions.
  • This takes a lot of work off my plate as the HR Mgr.
  • They just changed the format when I log in as the Admin and didn't give me advanced notice.
  • They need to be more 'government contractor' friendly. We need to be able to EASILY run reports for employees with military experience and disabilities. This was particularly challenging when I needed to create my annual AAP.
My reps (I've had 2) are outstanding. They provide support, sample policies and guidance on a regular basis.

We used TriNet for our 49 employees in the US; we would like to use it in the whole organization but TriNet doesn't support other countries, and we have employees in 5 different countries that use different software. We use TriNet for all HR/finance-related tasks like benefits, payroll, tracking PTO, and to e-verify.
  • It offers HR guidance, so we can ask questions about new legislation.
  • We got help with benefit elections with an on-site presentation.
  • Their "build your own report" doesn't work well. There are tons of bugs in their created reports that are wrong in several levels
  • You can't use "sick days" only for people that have them available; you will have to check manually that they still have sick days left or not use that label at all
TriNet works for medium companies, where you don't want to spend a ton of time with benefit elections and other HR tasks. There are so many competitors out there that I would find it hard to recommend them, but they do have more support than most of those companies that only offer software and nothing else, like legal advice

This is used by our entire company for payroll, employer tax returns & HR. Trinet allows us to be up to date and compliant with the latest labor laws across different states and at a federal level.

  • It would be nice if issues or requests regarding time off hours and accruals could be resolved a lot faster.
  • Only one other person is allowed to be the backup approver of time off requests.
As someone who has processed payroll with various other companies, TriNet seems to be a robust solution to any company's payroll and HR needs. TriNet is on top of all the states and federal laws and they constantly monitor all of the changes made in the system. I highly recommend TriNet.

TriNet is being used throughout the business both in the US and Canada and covers all of our HR needs. We needed an easy-to-use and self-sufficient system that could handle on-boarding, HR, payroll, and the works.

  • There is a lot of information at your disposal, unfortunately, there's not a lot on how to access all that the platform has to offer. Some training would help!
Overall, TriNet does the job pretty well and you can always contact an associate when there's an issue or you need assistance. However, I feel that employees don't go to TriNet or don't feel comfortable contacting the service, most of the time it's me as the lead contact.

We have about 7 employees and use TriNet for our payroll needs. It addresses health benefits, workers compensation insurance, cost breakdowns, W-2 and tax reporting. It is very beneficial.

We use it as out Payroll, Benefit and HR provider. We also use the Perform platform and have used TriNet hire [platform] previously.

  • For me as an admin it is a great pain to have every new manager have to add me as a proxy in order for me to access their employees.
  • Custom reports are not great. Often times I need to pull some specific information and it is pretty complicated for me to figure out how to create a report I need.
I love most things about TriNet, so really no complaints other than what I listed on a the previous question.

  • They communicate extremely well
  • All problems are resolved in a timely basis
  • The only problem I have come across is when they change to the new payroll reporting system and they continue to make changes to the system.
  • Some of the new reporting for I-9 is confusing to new employees.
TriNet is well suited to our company because they are easy to communicate with and our payroll specialist has the best personality and knowledge of payroll and she handles any problems we have efficiently.

  • I have had issues with our annual calendar with the option "to cancel" a date not working well. I could only add a new holiday, not remove it.
  • The Equifax team from Trinet when processing unemployment is not as reachable as the Trinet team; this could be slightly better.
It is a great user-friendly platform for small to medium companies like ours. The platform is well served with lots of tools and reports where we can find a lot of answers to our questions. There are links and side notes to provide a lot of information on a long list of items.

We use TriNet as a PEO, handling benefits, payroll, HR Consulting. All staff us the TriNet portal to make there benefits choices and manage their info from a log-in. Here they also manage flexible spending accounts, taxes, payroll deductions, 401K, even options like pet insurance, legal assistance, the Employee assistance program and more.
  • Providing a large menu of benefits offerings from which employees can choose what is important to them individually.
  • Providing an online portal where the employee can manage their options as self-service anytime, anywhere
  • When the Company received letters re: employee issues, TriNet knows what actions we need to take and consults with us.
  • The employee PTO request system is complicated for employees as well as for the payroll manager. The system does not adjust to schedules outside of Mon-Fri 9-5 and it is challenging to train staff how to finagle the system.
  • The medical benefits are expensive. This may be more of an issue with the overall health system in the U.S. than TriNet.
  • It would be great to have a user that could have full admin functions with the exception of seeing salaries. Because of this, I have to ask one other person to run reports for me.
Providing benefits for a small company. Helping an HR department of one manage HR with professional, knowledgeable back-up. Handling payroll. Providing a phone number and chat option for employees to ask questions outside of regular business hours.

We use TriNet to handle all of the HR needs companywide. It allows us to offer top-notch benefits that we otherwise may not be able to and allows us to easily process our payroll.
  • Strong support: Our HR representative at TriNet is available and helpful when we have sticky HR situations to deal with.
  • Online portal: Employees have a professional-looking portal to log into and view their benefits, paychecks, etc.
  • The vacation tracking portal can be a little confusing, in terms of showing exactly how much vacation time is remaining.
  • The 401(k) solution doesn't allow us to add additional funds that we want to offer to our employees.
  • The TriNet Expense add on is nice, but the interface could be improved.
For any small to medium-sized company that wants to offer top-notch benefits and/or wants to get by without their own HR division, TriNet offers a great solution.

We at EV Connect use TriNet as our PEO across the company - various departments use it to search for new talents, and prospective applicants, run background checks on new prospects, etc., and our accounting department uses it to onboard new hires, process payroll, track vacations, sick time, payroll reporting, and our employees use it to upload expenses and request time off.

Systematic Financial Management uses TriNet across the whole organization. They handle our payroll, benefits, insurance and HR needs. They have taken the hard work of HR and Benefits off our plates so we can manage the business and get our employees better quality benefits at a much lower price.

Across the whole organization. Payroll and benefits being managed in one location is very useful. The online access for each individual makes it simple for them to manage their payroll deductions and benefits. The electronic filing of the I-9 is really nice to not to have to store them locally. The 3rd party expense report tracking is very helpful.

Well suited for companies that don't want to build a large HR dept. We are able to have one individual be the point person and then have the employees contact TriNet. Nice to have a 3rd party and takes the pressure off the individual that is the point person. Seems to come better from someone outside the organization. The cost savings on the benefits was twice the cost of the service.
