I've used it for years. It WORKS. I intend to continue using it.
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Tungsten PaperPort helps us solve the problem of simple file organization. We'd been scanning billing, receipts, etc for years, but never had a solid organizing method. Tungsten PaperPort helps us focus not only on the organizational side of that, but also subsequently being able to find something AND open it quickly. That's where things didn't work as well before. Tungsten PaperPort kind of focuses that process... namely, get a good, organized folder structure setup - then be able to search that mass of data and open files, all within a singular app.
Pros
- See folder structure
- Create folder structure
- Move items around between folders
- Open those items all within the same app
Cons
- I can't say that anything there strikes me as particularly weak or missing.
Likelihood to Recommend
As I mentioned previously, in our office, we use it simply to organize scanned billing and receipts - but also client correspondence, internal notes, etc. I guess we really don't push it that hard. It's not that IT organizes anything; it's that it provides an environment that's conducive to US organizing things - and it subsequently lets us search and view things all within that same environment. THAT'S what's convenient.
