Frequently Asked Questions

Uberflip is a content marketing platform from the Toronto company of the same name. Central to Uberflip is its content hub for aggregating, centralizing, organizing, and finally curating content for delivery to targeted audiences in streams, culminating in the call-to-action (CTA). Uberflip also contains analytics that show how effective these CTAs are (and in what context they are effective or not) so poor content can be confidently dropped in favor of what works. For $200 monthly the user gets Essential edition, containing the hub, three custom content streams, the Flipbooks feature for twenty PDF files (basically to organize the files and publish them in a more interesting, interactive format), three calls-to-action, and access for one team member. For $600 and $1800 (or $500 and $1500 if billed annually), the Expert and Elite plans, respectively, increase the volume of all of these, permit gated content, automation and advanced behaviors, more advanced analytics, support, and advanced customization for larger content marketing teams.

Uberflip is used in our organization to house and promote our digital collateral in the form of brochures, case studies, articles, etc. We use it across the organization in varying forms. It provides a central online repository for our collateral that is aesthetically fresh, always up to date, and easy to maintain. It helps mitigate multiple, outdated versions and provides a way to share larger brochure files with clients.
  • Customer Support: Uberflip has a fantastic customer support team. They are always willing to go the extra mile to help solve problems. If they don't already know the answer, they'll find it.
  • Embed Code Generation: Embedding single tiles and whole hubs is a breeze with Uberflip's back-end embed code generators. they're offered in a few different forms and we've had no issues with their implementation.
  • Flexibility: Uberflip is great out the box. But if you're looking to customize a bit, they offer numerous ways to customize your hub and assets.
Cons
  • Flipbook Folders: The flipbook folder editing feature works great as designed, but there is not a way to bulk edit folders. As we want to maintain a consistent look, it would be great to not have to set folder settings one by one by hand.
  • Custom Tile Editing: The tiles that Uberflip use work great, but we often want more customization. It would be great if an editor for non-coders existed to accomplish this.
  • Loading large flipbook files could be faster.
  • Great for quick, out-of-the-box hub creation. You can have it up and running in minutes.
  • Not so great if you want to get really, really custom with your implementation.
  • Think about your flipbook quantity, RSS feed and social integration needs.

Overall, Uberflip is a great product with a lot of flexibility, but its not for every brand and every use case.

Uberflip is an amazing platform with an amazing customer support team.

Uberflip is used by the marketing content team to publish blog posts, whitepapers, videos, and more. It's been extremely useful and allows us to publish the content quickly and easily, without bothering the web development team or requiring our marketers to have coding skills. It has also been a great tool for easily organizing content and putting it into categories that make sense for our users.
  • Custom content streams for specific audiences allows us to segment content by audience, by content type, and by product.
  • Integration with Marketo is great, since it shows us who is consuming our content and how that is impacting their journey.
  • With Flipbooks, you can see how long people are staying on each page and how many pages they are reading, which is not something you can typically measure with a PDF.
  • The editor in the platform is super easy to use and allows you to update content very quickly.
Cons
  • The forms on the CTAs are very small, and I don't love that they show only one field until you click into it. This seems deceptive when you must actually fill out four or five fields to access the content.
  • Image management inside the platform isn't great, so I end up loading multiple of the same image versus searching through the library.
  • When you update the main navigation or footer on your main website, you must work with their developers to update it within the hub, rather than having your internal team handle it.
Uberflip is great if you have a lot of content and need to have the marketing team access it quickly. It does what it set out to do super well, and I really love that support is available at all times for any and all questions. There may be some organizations that are concerned about the SEO implications of using a subdomain, so that is the one thing I would recommend checking for implementing Uberflip.

A better blog and badass customer service.

We use Uberflip as a blog stream to house all of our content marketing as well as social media marketing messages. It is being used by our marketing department. Uberflip is great at bringing all of our content together into one aesthetically pleasing stream so users are able to jump between video, blogs, Facebook, Instagram, etc. all in one place. It also addresses the issue of having duplicate content on our website, by opening a new window for our blog it increases our SEO.
  • Creates a central hub for content across multiple platforms.
  • Prevents duplicate content by opening a new page away from website.
  • Provides key metrics for all different areas of our blog and content.
  • Provides CTAs to be scattered throughout stream and customized
  • Totally customized streams.
Cons
  • Uberflip could use a search function. It currently does not have one.
  • You're currently not able to create custom categories in their standard plan, which we're on.
Uberflip is great because it gives a Pinterest feel to our blog which our audience loves. They also have an INCREDIBLE customer service team. I've yet to deal with another company that has as good of a customer service team as Uberflip. They're constantly working to improve the site and fix customer issues.

I'm a 3-time UberFlip customer. Here's why...

We use Uberflip on the marketing side as our Content Management System. We brought it on as a solution when we were constantly having to go to a developer to post things on our website. Adding Uberflip to our tech stack made it easy for the Marketing team to update and add content when needed.
  • Easily publishes content.
  • Organizes content by streams.
Cons
  • Organize content within the streams better.
  • Provide for more customizations.
Uberflip is great for a team that doesn't have a lot of CSS or HTML experience. It is also great for a company that has a lot of content that they need to organize so it is easily digestible for prospects on the site.
