Frequently Asked Questions

Uberflip is a content marketing platform from the Toronto company of the same name. Central to Uberflip is its content hub for aggregating, centralizing, organizing, and finally curating content for delivery to targeted audiences in streams, culminating in the call-to-action (CTA). Uberflip also contains analytics that show how effective these CTAs are (and in what context they are effective or not) so poor content can be confidently dropped in favor of what works. For $200 monthly the user gets Essential edition, containing the hub, three custom content streams, the Flipbooks feature for twenty PDF files (basically to organize the files and publish them in a more interesting, interactive format), three calls-to-action, and access for one team member. For $600 and $1800 (or $500 and $1500 if billed annually), the Expert and Elite plans, respectively, increase the volume of all of these, permit gated content, automation and advanced behaviors, more advanced analytics, support, and advanced customization for larger content marketing teams.

We use Uberflip along with Uberflip Sales Assist for Marketing and Sales content management as well as sales enablement. Uberflip addresses a big problem we have had where we have not had a place to host our content to use in Marketing landing pages, or for the sales cycle. With Uberflip and Uberflip Sales Assist we are able to have content ready to go for whenever we need to create a Marketing landing page on the fly, or for when sales needs to send a piece of content to a prospect or client.

On the sales side of things, Sales Assist personalizes our buyers journey as well as enables us to track how sales content is being consumed by our prospects/clients. For the first time we now know, which of our content is being consumed, which isn't and then allows us to decide as a team "do we update the content that isn't working, or get rid of it all together?"
  • Sales Enablement - We can now have Sales pick and choose what content they want to send out to Clients/Prospects while having all of the data tracked on the back-end
  • Content Management - We can host all of our PDF content in Uberflip so it is easy to pull individually or into sales/marketing use cases
  • Client Relations - Our CSM and the entire Uberflip team has been incredibly helpful in getting us off the ground and helping us figure out how Uberflip fits in exactly with our use cases.
Cons
  • Sales Enablement - Though I noted this as one of their strengths, they are still early in the game for their Sales Enablement platform. They are still tweaking the product to be perfect. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, personally I have seen it as a great opportunity to be able to help them adjust their product to satisfy a client like us.
  • Categories - Though I know it is on the roadmap, the lapse of categories on Uberflip pages has been a bit tedious. You can implement them with custom code, but I would prefer to see this built directly in the system
Uberflip is well suited in the sales process, as well as in personalized campaigns for Marketing. In the Sales process, you are able to pick and choose content specifically for a prospect and serve it up in a format that is easy to digest and very dynamic(no more clunky PDFs!). For personalized marketing campaigns, you can take advantage of integrations with other tools(such as 6sense) to change a page's content based on an audience.

We needed a better way to organize and file our content. After doing some research, we chose Uberflip as our content hub because of its ability to organize our content into categories, topics, and type. It also allowed us to better track leads in Pardot from the source content by campaign or item form fill. This made it easier for the marketing team to attribute MQLs and funnel progression to our marketing efforts.

We also found the organization of content to be very useful for four other target languages that we are focusing on creating more content for. Our pages per visit has seen a huge increase, as has time on page since implementing Uberflip across all the five languages we currently have hubs for.
  • Content organization
  • Design customization
  • Landing page builds (set up streams quickly and easily)
  • Importing of feeds and source streams
  • Customer support is excellent
Cons
  • The Pardot integration could be more expansive and easier to set up (some of it's limitations on the Pardot side, however)
  • Ability to gate content in a sales stream
Uberflip is very well suited to content marketing needs; they are constantly improving their product and take customer feature requests seriously. They are open to assisting with workarounds when specific features may not be out-of-the-box items. Their customer support team is very quick in responding, thorough in their explanations, and happy to help for as long as needed until the issue is resolved.

The only real pain points we have experienced have been with the Pardot integration, as it seems that Marketo is better suited to the platform.

Great Content Hub For SMBs

We used Uberflip primarily as a content hub. We uploaded all of our content, except blogs, to Uberflip and linked from our main website to the content item. Uberflip was mainly used by the marketing department in terms of management but was used by sales to build out campaigns and customer service for training guides. Uberflip enabled us to house a lot of content without needing to upload it directly to our website or host on a CDN. It also enabled us to easily share content with prospects and customers, while also layering in a CTA and related content.
  • Categorizing content: making categories or tagging content was a great feature for us as we were able to easily separate content based on need.
  • Embedding feature: Uberflip's embed feature was a great thing to utilize. We could embed content we housed on Uberflip on our site and even serve up related content to users.
  • Customer service: Any time a problem or questions or new feature came about, Uberflip's customer service was always on-point. They always helped us find a solution in a timely manner.
Cons
  • Customizing Uberflip sites: We found it extremely difficult to make our Uberflip site match our main domain. Main navigation took forever to match and required heavy coding and specific files.
  • SEO is subpar: The SEO features offered on content is, in my opinion, very basic and barely scratches the surface of optimizing. You're only able to change titles and descriptions, and a little bit of the URLs.
  • CTAs: We utilized the CTAs a lot on your account, but making them stand out with an image or particular color required a lot of coding and patience to get just right.
I feel like small agencies or start-ups would be great for using Uberflip. It takes the hassle of housing all the content on the server out of the picture. It's also great in making the content much more shareable for sales and customer service. Larger companies could use Uberflip, but I feel that it'd be too basic and would require multiple managers.

Uberflip has been an excellent method for us to organize, use and share our content. It started as an initiative on our marketing team; we needed a tool to improve the way our website organized and served up various types of content for visitors. But then we also began using it for sales enablement and even internal training as well, and it's been invaluable for those purposes. Their customer success folks have been among the best that I've worked with. They've been responsive to our needs and have sought out solutions to our challenges, even when those challenges went outside the usual scope. A recommended product for marketing organizations with large content libraries, or those who depend heavily on content marketing.
  • Bringing order and much-needed segmentation to our small mountain of marketing content
  • Integrations with other technologies: Marketo, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Social Media
  • Customer Success and Support
Cons
  • When setting up Uberflip for the first time, the way content is stored and handled does take some getting used to. But after a period of familiarization, there is no ongoing issue. It makes sense once you understand it.
As mentioned above, Uberflip is great for marketing teams who depend heavily on content marketing, for example B2B marketing teams.

Prior to implementing Uberflip, a common issue amongst both our Sales and Marketing teams was that we didn't have a centralized repository to store all of our content. Since implementing Uberflip, we have found that having one central repository to not only store all relevant internal and external facing content has helped streamline our process for finding content and sharing with prospects but has also ensured that the content that we are sharing externally is the most updated version of a document.
  • content repository
  • communication with customers - great CX support!
  • metrics on how prospects/customers are interacting with content shared!
Cons
  • Ability to add in personal video recordings to sales/marketing streams
In my prior experience as an SDR using Uberflip, creating customized sales streams for prospects prior to a qualification call as a cadence step didn't seem as useful as when using it post-qualification call or post-demo. Our team has found that it has been most useful when we are able to create one customized landing page for the prospect/account so everything is centralized.
