Frequently Asked Questions

Uberflip is a content marketing platform from the Toronto company of the same name. Central to Uberflip is its content hub for aggregating, centralizing, organizing, and finally curating content for delivery to targeted audiences in streams, culminating in the call-to-action (CTA). Uberflip also contains analytics that show how effective these CTAs are (and in what context they are effective or not) so poor content can be confidently dropped in favor of what works. For $200 monthly the user gets Essential edition, containing the hub, three custom content streams, the Flipbooks feature for twenty PDF files (basically to organize the files and publish them in a more interesting, interactive format), three calls-to-action, and access for one team member. For $600 and $1800 (or $500 and $1500 if billed annually), the Expert and Elite plans, respectively, increase the volume of all of these, permit gated content, automation and advanced behaviors, more advanced analytics, support, and advanced customization for larger content marketing teams.

Set-up is a breeze and Uberflips customer service during installation was paramount. We were able to deploying sooner using their expert knowledge, and they were available whenever we needed additional support (which by the way was included in the purchase price).

Our first hub took us about 3 months start to finish (including onBrand setup, which was the longest piece). Our most recent hub took about 1.5 months to do start to finish.

Adding content - even new sources of content - is very easy and easily managed. With automations for tagging content, it's also fairly easy to ensure content is kept up-to-date with the right information.

It is easy once you get the hang of it and understand what you can and can't do in Uberflip. As mentioned before, there are some limitations around what you can actually create natively in Uberflip, its pretty much just blog posts unless you do customizations on content types where you can have things like case studies reflect with different styling. Everything else in terms of content format must be brought in through integrations. Once you have all of your content imported its very simple.

Publishing content is extremely easy and Uberflip recently released more functionality around making it easier to have multiple people and/or departments uploading and creating content while making sure there are requirements in place to allow consistency in content distribution.

Pretty quickly. It's not an overly fun process to set everything up but I don't think any type of tech like this really is. I think it was as easy as it could be. Once it's set up though, using it is very easy and straightforward.

It is extremely easy, we are so happy with the UX, they have tutorials, the support is excellent and the platform is so intuitive. We don’t have any problems when we start to use the platform, just one time when we start to publish the content and we don't know how to personalize it, but the platform did it by itself

The process is pretty effortless once you get used to it. It can be complex, to begin with, especially if content sits in multiple streams, however, the overall benefits of this outweighs the negatives. The biggest issue we had was the initial integration - tagging our existing content and exporting from a third party was time-consuming and complex.

The more time and strategic thought you put into the set-up of your hub, the harder it will work for you in the end. Setting up the hub and adding the content is pretty simple, but doing it in a way that you are able to get the most out of the reporting on the back-end is key. We have developed standard content templates that helps us create content efficiently. We use our reporting dashboards to help guide us on where our content development focuses should be.

It took a bit of time to initially set up the content hubs to make it specific to our needs, occasionally requiring custom code for things like disclaimers or font changes. But once we were up and running and the framework was there it became incredibly easy to put together content hubs and streams.

Once you understand how to create and edit streams and content in Uberflip, it's second nature. I would say there is somewhat of a learning curve, but there is plenty of documentation online (through Uberflip) and their account management team is usually quick to reply. I would say it is similar to getting familiarized with any major marketing system, such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or Pardot.

The ease of setup was the critical selling point for us and continues to be an extremely valuable part of Uberflip. Publishing a PDF/Flipbook takes seconds, and if you need to make changes or update it at a later time, you can either replace single pages or the entire PDF just as quickly. Then all you have to do is add a title, description, some SEO info, and make sure you tag your content for easy organization and filtering!

We were able to get content available and published almost immediately. We have been taking some extra time to spruce up our page and have it flow nicer from our company website, but when I have new content my clients can access it within the hour which is spectacular for our needs!

Given the amount of content we produce and that we have multiple language hubs, it took 6-8 months to full setup our instance. However, now that we're up and running, it is very easy to manage and publish content on a daily basis.

There is a lot of initial work that needs to be done on the Uberflip side to set up the Hub. Once the Hub is set up creating and adding streams is instant. They also provide a great service of bulk uploading. This helped my company our initial upload as we were moving close to 500 pieces of content.

Uploading individual content is also a quick process. It does take a bit of training to make sure you are utilizing all the great features that come with uploading content but the publishing process is seamless.

The setup and publishing process can be very streamlined. There are advanced options for customization but Uberflip also does a great job of laying out all the steps, providing resources and best practices to help you get going on hub set up. Once your hub is configured, adding additional content or creating a new marketing stream can take just minutes - it is that easy!

It's incredibly easy and fast to implement. The longest part is a content audit if you haven't done one, and then we invested quite a bit in our on brand experience. We phased our implementation into a V1 and V2. V1 we did in less than a month (including audit, tagging, technical implementation and roll out) and then V2 was a bigger investment into on brand and RSS feeds took an additional 3-4 weeks.

Setting up the content hubs took about a month of dedicated work but publishing content is quite easy after the hub has been set up. Uberflip does provide a detailed list of things to do in order to get your hub off the ground, which has come in handy for each of the five language hubs we currently have.
